SDC's second album, Sacred Songs of Life and Love, was released internationally in February 2015. The album features a program of Scandinavian and Baltic sacred music, including works by Arvo Pärt, Ēriks Ešenvalds, and Sven-David Sandström.
Recorded in the glorious sanctuary of St. Joseph Cathedral in Sioux Falls, Sacred Songs of Life and Love is our second collaboration with Grammy-winning producer Blanton Alspaugh of Soundmirror. The album marks our first release with Pentatone, a Netherlands-based label that specializes in high-end 5-channel surround sound recordings. This SACD Hybrid disc is playable on both Super Audio and standard CD systems.

The intonation is just gorgeous, the base support is great, the dynamic changes and developments are fantastic. And I really like how you are trying to really make this piece speak and tell its story by intentional use of the agogic spectrum that is available to you. BUT: These are such beautiful words and chords, WHY THE RUSH??? The accoustics in this place (I presume it is a church) can really support and help you there, why waste this opportunity? Other than that, a wonderful performance thank you for sharing it.

Found this after listening to your Ubi Caritas by Durufle'. Wow, I was blown away by the voices, especially the soloists! By the end of the piece I had tears in my eyes from just the beauty of the sound! Thank you so much from an Augustana alum.

Sharon Paul and the University Of Oregon Chamber Singers compete in a worldwide contest there every year (but this year) and often win top prizes. We have visited Tallin, Estonia and heard their community groups sing. Wunderbar!! They sang their way to independence in the late 80s!
I am a former band/vocal director in Viborg, Mennonite, and Lennox, SD in the 50s and 60s. Theses SD kids can sing and play! I am so happy to hear of the success of the South Dakota Chorale!
