Thank you. I just got the wawona 4 and there were no instructions!! Without your video I would not have been able to set it up or tear down the tent properly. I loved the pace of your commentary.
I really enjoyed the commentary and no hurry of setting up this particular tent model as I am looking in replacing the one my dog ate a few weeks ago. Lesson learned is if putting up a dog run to insure cannot get to tent, I have lost two already to the little lady.
Great set up video of the Wawona 4. Awesome that you're a fan of Tony and Bruce at ABCamping. I've seen his videos on this tent and the Wawona 6 as well, and also his other videos of camping in the rain. His stuff is awesome indeed. I've purchased the Wawona 6, largely because of Tony's videos and I can't wait to take it camping! So nice to meet you and Buddy!
@@James-2342 I finally took the Wawona 6 out for the Victoria Day weekend and it's awesome. I chose the 6 because of the huge vestibule. A couple of chairs and a camp table, no problem. FYI, Buddy does a great job of supervising! 😁
@@scottbeefful Hey there Scott, I got it at SAIL in Ottawa and it was 41% off, which at the time was about 499.00 If you can find one for under 400 I would say a good deal, if I recall correctly I think I paid around 330 and it was early spring when they were clearing out last years stock for the new summer stuff
Thanks so much for your video. I am trying to decide which tent to purchase. I need to be able to set it up by myself. You made it look straight forward and simple. I think with practice, I could do this. Great pup too!!!
FYI, there's a big vestibule available that fits the 4, just learned that today. Got a Wawona 6, yeah, AB Camping, and we've been out in VERY high winds - 45 at Devils Tower, heavy rain and thunderstorms, hail, and Wawona 6 hung in there. We did opt for motel in Cheyenne prediction of 60 mph winds, 5-13" snow, and Gowdy State Park closed. The 6 vestibule really makes it, 4 just wasn't big enough.
Well done James! I also follow AB Camping and saw the Wawonas he used. Your setup was spot on and easy to follow. I recently bought it and look forward to my next trip. Cheers!
Absolutely spot-on video for what I was looking for. I just bought the green version of this tent today from REI return section so I got mine for a third of the price and the footprint that goes with it. Somebody used it once, I set it up in the middle of REI and couldn't find anything wrong with it except I wasn't sure about that black pole. Thank you so much for telling me that it was bent on purpose. I can hardly wait to use it in my friend's backyard this next weekend! Would love to see how you set up a tarp over that vestibule area as I was thinking the same thing. We'll try to check out the other camping person's videos you talked about as well. Buddy did an excellent job helping you as well! 😊
That's Great You will love the tent. I am planning more videos re homemade gear and workarounds such as tarp footprints and I am going to do a tarp set up with the Wawona soon. Please subscribe and you will know when the next ones go up, If you like Drones I have a number of them up now. Thanks again for watching :P
Great review. I just purchased the Wawona 8. I was looking at the 6 but the 8 was on sale at Moosejaw for $480....I had to jump at that price. I do love this 4 though. For a 4 man tent it is really tall and nice near verticle walls. I am with you, a great one man tent and a dog. It looks like it could handle a normal size cot and have plenty of room for gear. Perfect. I hope to take the 8 out this coming weekend for a maiden voyage. I can't wait. Thanks for your work. BTW....it would have been a nice touch for them to put some small loops on the corners of the side windows so you could guy them out and still be able to use them in a light rain. If we could have a tent designed for all of our desires it would likely cost a fortune. I subbed and liked. 😁
Thank you for this very helpful video. (I have bookmarked it for future reference.) Would you say that a 5'2" woman could put this tent up by herself? Thank you.
Absolutely The only issue I might mention is that its not a Hike Camping tent as it is heavy weighing in at 13 pounds, so perfect for car camping unless you have a number of people to help carry all the gear. For me and my Buddy Dog we are quite haPPY with the park near where we camp idea. :) I hope you subscribed that way you can see my next video
@@James-2342 Thanks, James. At 83 years of age I have not backpacked in a long time but I do very much enjoy car camping. For the past 16 years I have camped using my Honda Element as a "hard sided tent". It served me well, but in the past year it was having too many mechanical problems to be reliable. My new car is not suitable as a sleeping unit, so a tent is now necessary. The Wawona seems to be a good choice. Your video demonstration was encouraging. Thank you. I did subscribe to your channel and look forward to more of your videos.
Thanks for the nice video. I got the same one. I am wondering if I can bring it with me as a carry-on luggage for Delta. Is there any chance you may know this?
Really wanted to like this tent, but the vestibule drove me nuts. Having to undo 2 sets of zippers to get in and out became a pain. Zippers also had a propensity to jam. Well made, stand up height great, lots of room. Wish the front had a closure over the mesh so you could leave the vestibule tied up.
Just watched your video on the Wawona 4. It was the best I seen about this tent! I would like to know if you got a chance to take her out camping during the year and how it performed for you? I thinking of upgrading from my Tetonsports mountain ultra 4 person. (sick of not being able to stand up in that one.) I'm going to be 64 years old this coming year and need more room to stretch . Also, I noticed antenna towers in background of video, are you a armature radio operator? Please post more vid.s with the tent and your dog. This is N9TUZ :)
CQ CQ Yes as to Amature radio. I have camped in it and love it we both enjoy the size and I too am 64, so the standing room is a must. I have also recently gotten the smaller Stormbreak 3 which is a great tent too but one suited to hike camping, whereas the Wawona 4 is more suited to car camping. (which is more in line with me these days but I still like the small one too. (video in the near future. VE3KAW
Well I had the tent setup in the back yard and there is an opening in the hedge behind right out to the road and his magisty will bolt out without looking to great passers by and other dogs so better safe than sorry. He tends to have a mind of his own every so often
@@James-2342often I have to put my dog in the courtyard when I’m gardening and can’t focus on him. ❤He tends to wander a bit. He’s safer there till I can watch him better. He’s fine in there water, garden, covered shade and he can see me. Love this tent, it’s so tall inside. Ty
My kinda guy. No nonsense. No drama. Very helpful. Thanks. Lovely dog by the way.
Thank you. And Buddy Dog thanks you too lol hes the Best :)
I second this. Right to the point, no fluff. Except for the dog. That is the fluff, the best fluff.
Thanks for the demo James.
Nice vid. I ordered this tent earlier today. So you saved me time and frustration figuring it out. Thanks!

Yes he is! Thanks Ill tell him

I appreciate your work, I just bought the same tent. It’s great to watch a live person. Buddy is so cute. Subscribed.
Awesome…gonna buy it!
Great video, thanks for sharing!
Im trying to pick between 4 and 6 for my family of 4. Thanks for the video, allowing really see the item in real life.
Which one you ended up getting?
Thanks for the thorough video. Just found this on sale for pretty cheap and am about to set it up for the first time and check it out.
