  • From June, 1996, the first stop on the first ever Camel-Pro Billiards Tour - THE SANDS REGENCY OPEN XXIII, featuring two of pro pools greats - "The Rifleman" Buddy Hall vs. Rudolpho Luat, considered a dark horse in most major tournaments - a player NOT to be taken lightly - especially if that player (Luat) is an instructor at your own pool room (Hall's). So... the question is: WHO is the student and WHO is the master?? Friendships are put aside and the table is where the business is done! Don't miss this classic!

Buddy Hall is a great guy. He has the finest qualities of a gentleman champion.

Just one of the many reasons this game is the greatest. Most if not all professional players are super approachable and willing to give their fans time.. I have played Buddy and had numerous conversations with him. Super great guy all around. Last I heard he was still playing small tournaments around his hometown. Its been at least 5 years since I have seen him. I hope he is well and still shooting straight.

Fun match. I always love watching Buddy Hall. I play better after I watch his stroke. One thing...I sure miss the speed at which these guys play. It seemed so normal and ordinary at the time, but now slow play sometimes interferes with my enjoyment of the game. Slow play is a problem now in baseball and golf too.

    • @ralphwiggum240

Slow play is a problem? I can guarantee you make mistakes because you don't take your time to think things through, think of all the possibilities and weigh all the percentages...

Buddy Hall makes this game look ridiculously easy. I love how simple and short his bridge is, how he moves at a good pace around the table. What's there to not like about the way he plays?

The commentator who said the break isn't all it's cracked up to be is dead wrong. Especially these days. Guys in the last 20 years might put a 4 or 5 pack on you at any given time. The break is the most important shot in pool as all top players know.

I have extended rails on my gold crown, and the pockets are about 4 and 3/8ths of an inch.. Plays tighter than diamonds with 4 inch pockets..
It’s all about the deep shelf, which diamonds have gotten away from.. The deep shelf separates the cream from the shortstops..
