@@JillKnapp You can appreciate their work, ideally by laughter, and you're free to cheer on them at the end of the segment, but in the previous Surprise Inspection I'm referring to, the audience broke out in applause every time they showed Matt on camera, just seconds after groaning at his jokes. Frequent applause breaks just kill the flow of the show in my view, one of my biggest peeves with Colbert's show for example is that the audience just halts the conversation/monologue by cheering after every second sentence for 10 seconds. And I get that you're excited to be in the crowd, but the show is mainly for the home audience, so let the performers perform.
The "Dog explodes mailman" joke was, seriously, one of the best bits I've seen Seth tell. The tombstone listing only the deceased's occupation is the chef's kiss.
My only problem with the “All Scollins” section is the fact that it ruins my personal game of “guess which joke is Scollins” Also, I adore the reaction to the Conga dogs jokes, lol
@@imightbebiased9311 no the opposite, it immediately hits. But it hits harder because you forget the joke is about heinz. Without the long set up, the punchline would be very obvious because of how common it is.
I will say this… Seth has been talking about how he doesn’t want to do corrections anymore, but I kinda think it would be great if Scollins took over for him. It feels like he might be able to capture the right hostility towards the audience
My jaw dropped at the bill Cosby joke and then I laughed so hard at seth gossiping to the audience about calling him a coward :) this is literally the best segment every seth!!!
Someone else said this on the other video with Surprise Inspection, but it really is amazing that this show is a 10/10 sitcom disguised as a late night show.
I was waiting for the inevitable Scollins run and Seth made it it's own special segment. We may need to do a jokes Seth can't tell: Scollins edition where Seth makes Scollins read his worst submissions 😆
I know that this is a labor of love, and I revel in your joy to make a place where your crew are in on it, and recognized/shamed for everyone to see, and getting to know their styles to a point where I can guess whose joke that was. You remember those days. You remember why we do this together with amazingly talented people, and show them off.
DEAR LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MYERS, We really like those segments that show Seth and the crew's magic, together. It's been a decade and everyone is still there, it is like a family sitcom sometimes lol
I really want them to do one of these where they bring in all the writers and make them stand in a row beside the desk with their heads down in shame as he reads the punchline and turns to stare at them in stark silence as if expecting an explanation XD
I don't quite think this works in print, but I could tell it was there, and was able to see how it would have worked out loud once I went back and tried it out.
I want to hear all the Scollins jokes!!! I don't care if that means I'm a bad person but they make me laugh so hard every freaking time. #ReleasetheScollinsCut
Scollins was hard done by, those jokes deserved more, perfect for that segment. Come on Seth we need to hear the ones that you didn't pick on Corrections.
SLEEVE HIM ALONE
😅
I concur!
Tanks for defending him!
@markmac2206 Now we know which one is Brian's sockpuppet account.
@@LaurelKline 👏👏👏
It's the funniest "f*ck!!" i heard in a while. And i still watch "people dying inside" compilation.
You got to love a Scollins joke. There's something so groansworthy about them. Scollins looks so pleased with himself.
Groanworthy Scollins
@@Kayla-kr8tb Ah yes, the Groansworthy Scollins. A family with a long and groany history.
I lost it on the Casey Anthony one
OMG thank you for not only the all Scollins section, but for the cutaways of him standing in the wings. I needed these laughs this morning.
More like standing in the corner.
LOL
Seth’s set up to the dogs in a conga line joke with Scollins reaction was comedy gold!
The back and forth with Scollins is genuine and charming. The visibility of the writers on this show is what makes it what it is.
lol.. Scollins absolutely delighted with himself.. and rightly so :)
Scollins is the best, man. And I love that it didn't turn into an applause parade like when Matt was in the studio.
Yes, we shouldn't clap for the people who work hard to entertain us

@@markdlo 100%. There were a bunch of us who didn't want the audience on late night to come back post covid
Looks like Scollins used his post-strike raise to buy an entire shirt.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
It was only a matter of time until "Oops all Scollins" would be a thing. 😅
The "Dog explodes mailman" joke was, seriously, one of the best bits I've seen Seth tell. The tombstone listing only the deceased's occupation is the chef's kiss.
My favourite segment. And now Scollins has his own section within the segment! My extreme delight needs a visit to my therapist.
Scollins is the best part of Surprise Inspection.
Scollins should really have just turned up in a tank top as a power move lol
"He didn't have to come to work today" is gonna stay with me for a while
My only problem with the “All Scollins” section is the fact that it ruins my personal game of “guess which joke is Scollins”

I play that game too. It's my favorite
2:32 the delay to forget it's about ketchup is why it's such an amazing joke. The punchline comes out of nowhere.
Norm McDonald was a master at those types of jokes.
I'm surprised he "mustard" up the courage to write it 😅
Oh. Actually that's a good point.
So what you're saying is, that it just... take a moment for you to process what happen? For the joke to dawn on you... Something like that?
@@imightbebiased9311 no the opposite, it immediately hits. But it hits harder because you forget the joke is about heinz. Without the long set up, the punchline would be very obvious because of how common it is.
correction: you said the writers don't watch it but this video is proof that at least one of them does
At least two, 'cause Matt has also been there
I used to campaign for an all Scollins monologue but I'm happy with an Oops, All Scollins section of Surprise Inspection

Seth’s obvious affection and appreciation for his writers is part of what makes this segment so much fun.
Mike Scollins, please never change. I love your humor.
"If you're a regular watcher... and why would you be?" - Meyers channeling Letterman there. :)
I thought the same!!! Once a fanboy, always a fanboy
Even in the monologues, you can tell when it's a Scollins joke 😅🤣
I'm convinced that the Groundhog Day joke in yesterday's monolog was a Scollins joke. I'm surprised it made it and wasn't a Surprise Inspection one.
I love Seth's glee in this segment!!!!
"You're not getting paid per word!" 😂
I actually really love how you break down why a joke does or doesn't work. That's interesting to me

Hey, as a process engineer, I, for one, really enjoyed Brian's ketchup joke! Really added some context for me. Thank you, Brian!
Calling Seth a coward 😂😂😂😂 sooo funny. I can only imagine what shenanigans happens in the run up to the shows.
Scollins may not hope that his jokes show up here, but I sure do😂😂😂😂
Scollins!! We’ve been dying to meet you!
Loved the Scollins segment!!!! Brilliant!!
Brian's 1 scallion dollars joke was hilarious!!
I actually enjoyed all his dad jokes.
That Cosby joke was gold.
DEAR LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MYERS, We really like those segments that show Seth and the crew's magic, together. It's been a decade and everyone is still there, it is like a family sitcom sometimes lol
That super-subtle purse of the lips at 2:30 has a very "disappointed kermit" vibe, and I am dying
the Cosby joke was SOLID!
I love how the segment ends with Scollins in his signature pose! 😂
Scollins wearing long sleeves isn't real. He can't hurt you.
Scollins wearing long sleeves:
The only thing that ruins the Cosby joke is that he’s been free for a couple years now.😂 still funny

the DJ Khaled one was legit
Love the way you include your staff - the writers, and of course, Wally.
I think Mr.Scollins needs to have his own segment: defending myself .😂😂
The Cosby joke was actually very solid.
I love that the scallions joke got Seth booed at the Rangers game! 😂
Phenomenal Scollins cam today, love these segments
My favorite bit hands down. I also love that the audience also gets yelled at from time to time 😂
all I can say to that last joke is "woof".
Get out! 🤣
@@tsarkasim I understand and I will see myself out promptly.
Brian left the long set up to get his joke aired as he knew Seth wouldn't resist a 'teaching' moment. Brian conned 'im into it.

I love how many of these have _the_ Scollins photo in the thumbnail 😂
Seth: people said they are more likely to eat out-

all the earlier dad jokes I think it was an intentional mislead

I love this segment 😂😂
Tank you for sharing!
This was maybe my favorite show ever!!! Scollins for president!!
Next Inspection, he should make Scollins deliver the jokes himself
I'm so glad Scollins was there. That "f*ck!!" makes the segmemt.
Best surprise inspection yet, glad Scollins was there for it!
I love how happy Seth is 😝
I lauged too hard at the Casey Anthony and Bill Cosby jokes!! I guess I have a sick sense of humor! Thanks, Scollins!!
We got a Scollins appearance! Not going to lie, his jokes were offensive but also hilarious. We need to hear the others on Corrections please.
I quite liked the Mailman one.
Don't worry Scollins i laughed at the conga line joke.
I love that they still make the graphics
Oops All Scollins didn't get the love it deserved! Also is it just me or is Scollins kinda cute when he's not wearing an ill-advised tank top?
Yes, he is kinda hot 🔥
He's cute even with it. Just tell me he wasn't wearing skinny jeans.
😂 best surprise inspection so far :D
Listen, Brian and Scollins are giving the people what they want 😂
The best part of surprise impression is guessing who wrote it 😅
Scollins may be an underrated genius, luckily he has you to deliver.
This is always a brilliant segment.
I adore Surprise Inspection! Segments, thank you Seth Meyers!!!
I really love this segment.
Oh my God! Scollins is so cute!!!!
Mailman. 😂😂😂😂
Scollins jokes are funny in my opinion. Typically dark humor is what makes me laugh the most.
stories we need right now, scollins edition
Scollins: “Oh F**k!”
Rewatching after the intro video included this. It's great when the writers show up. They need to do at least one revenge segment against Seth.
That scallion joke was fire.
Manatee appreciation day! Give him some props!!
Worst run of jokes on surprise inspection, ever?Still loving this segment and show. Hats off.

Me: Michael Vick? Who dat?
*a minute of googling*
Me: Ah...! That makes sense.
The way Seth says, "By the way," as though his hot goss is too hot to handle... So cute.
The DJ Khaled joke about eating out was actually pretty funny
I love this show so much it’s basically just the office but funny.
The amount of brand recognition Cap'n Crunch's Oops All Berries has achieved is impressive.
