    I believe I have a slight tear On the short head tendin of my bicep. Iv had prp before for my other shoulder, I did 6 treatments and did it around the whole shoulder . I think the doctor did that to try to stabilize but also I think it wasn’t necessary considering the pain was only in the front (bicep tendon/ possible labrum area).
    Also Instopped working out for over a year after that because it just felt weak and definitely very painful after the shots every first few weeks .
    If I wanted to just get the short head tendon injected with a less aggressive approach would that be possible. I went to another doctor and it seems he might do the frok and back of my shoulder .
    Frankly I think it’s overkill and not really necessary and all it will do is injure nonInjured parts of my body and also delay healing . But I don’t want to tell doctors what to do but it’s also my body and I know where the pain is and what it was like to just inject it all around .
    Also would prp work with an abdominal tear?

      Hi danwoodcock, Thanks for the question. Sorry to hear that you're still having pain after a hip replacement. We understand your hesitancy toward degenerative effects of cortisone. We treat patients here after they are still suffering with chronic pain after a joint replacement and we'd be happy to review your case in more detail to see if you sound like a good candidate for our center with PRP Prolotherapy, traditional dextrose Prolotherapy, or other regenerative solution. If you'd like our help, please feel free to reach out. Wish you all the best in health and getting back to your activities without pain!

    I was told that my MRI looks like I have a bone spur pressing on the Bursa and potentially a partial tear (rotator cuff). Do you think the bone spur would be a condition that would not be worth PRP treatment?

    • @CaringmedicalProlotherapy
      @CaringmedicalProlotherapy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Craig, Thanks for your question. Sorry to hear about your shoulder, but glad that you are looking into regenerative treatment options. In our office, we are always trying to get to the root cause of the problem. With bone spurs, they are formed as one way the body tries to stabilize an unstable joint. In our office, we stabilize the joint with regenerative injection therapy (Prolotherapy) and that can include PRP among other solutions. This helps repair the soft tissue of the joint, including the rotator cuff, and stabilize the joint so the bone spur growth stops. We help many people avoid surgery, and would be happy to review your case in more detail to see if you're a good candidate. If you would like to discuss your case, you can email us privately at info@caringmedical.com and send us a copy of your MRI report. Hope we can help! Take care.

I have done other things doctors have told me such as cortisone injection, rehab, rest and oral steroids. Nothing seems to be helping. Recently visited a well known surgeon in Stlouis. I have torn glut med and glut min tendons and also a torn labrum (not detached) I had a PRP injection and it was the MOST painful thing I've ever experienced and I've had 2 children, so that is saying a lot. The doc DID NOT numb the area and I had to basically be "held down" for her to complete the procedure. Then they decided they didn't have enough blood to do a second injection. So they tried to take more blood from my arm and they said because my body had "stressed"so badly from the injection my Platelets were clotting and basically the second blood draw couldn't be used. I was crying and my entire body was shaking during the procedure and I could barely stand afterwards. They had to take me to my car in a Wheel chair. WHY can't this be done under anesthetics? She told me the PRP and the anesthetics don't "work" together..I would NEVER go through that again. This Doc works with Professional Athletes in Pitts PA and supposedly a top Doctor....hmmmmm with NO compassion. She kept telling me I know this hurts if you need to curse at me go ahead...hahaha like that would take the pain away!!

    I've read that combining PRP with prolotherapy along with certain solutions can be associated with debridement which may not be desirable in that situation, any thoughts or was that a misunderstanding?

    • @CaringmedicalProlotherapy
      @CaringmedicalProlotherapy  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the question. Sounds like perhaps a misunderstanding. PRP is a form of Prolotherapy in an of itself. Prolotherapy is just the umbrella term for regenerative injection treatments that stimulate the body to heal. PRP is a type of Prolotherapy that uses the specific part of the blood (Platelets) to achieve this. You can feel free to check out our research on these treatments on AboutProlotherapy.com. hope this helps. Take care.

      Hi ladykickz, Thanks for reaching out. We have seen patients who just received one or two shots of PRP and did not find it beneficial. The way we utilize PRP is in a more comprehensive injection method, called H3 Prolotherapy. PRP plus other solutions are used in and around joints to treat the ligaments. For EDS, it is especially important to have ligament strengthening/tightening to stop dislocations. If you would like us to review your case in more detail and see if you are a good candidate for our treatments, we'd be happy to. Hi Michael, Thanks for the question. Prolotherapy was done for decades without ultrasound guidance. Even with guidance, providers should be very well trained in anatomical landmarks. I have torn my meniscus twice on my left knee. First time repaired it, second time removed part of the meniscus. I’m 17, and still feeling pain in my knee 3 months after surgery. How long does PRP take to recover from(return back to play)? Would PRP be fine at younger ages?

    • @CaringmedicalProlotherapy
      @CaringmedicalProlotherapy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HI Jacob, Sorry to hear about your repeat meniscal surgeries at such a young age. We talk a lot about meniscal injuries on our channel and on our site, if you want to learn more about our approach to meniscal tears specifically. The knee is the top area we treat and we treat a lot of young athletes, including those who have already had surgery but it failed to get them back to sports. So, that is really where regenerative treatments like PRP Prolotherapy can shine and help patients strengthen the structures of the joint that surgery does not address, such as the MCL and other ligaments and tendons that provide the joint stability. When there is joint instability, there is increased pain and abnormal wear and tear on the joint, faster path to arthritis, etc. Most patients who we see tend to need around 3-6 treatments, depending on the condition of the joint, how well they heal, level of activity, amount of time that they dedicate to rehabbing the joint, etc. We focus on LONG-TERM health of the joint. Regenerative treatments are about building stronger tissue that will last, opposite of something like cortisone which puts people at greater risk for joint damage in the long-term. If you and your parents would like our team to review your case in more detail to see if you sound like a good candidate for our clinic, we'd be happy to help. Feel free to reach out for a more in-depth case review anytime. We wish you all the best in health and getting back to sports!

    • @CaringmedicalProlotherapy
      @CaringmedicalProlotherapy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Joe, If you are having pain, please contact the provider directly who injected you. There are times that the response to PRP/Prolotherapy can be different from treatment to treatment, but not so extreme. Just that some areas of the knee may feel more stiff or swollen or getting back to exercise may take an extra day or something along those lines. But extreme pain days later is not common in our office. Your doctor should walk you through what to do. Sorry you were dealing with that! Hope you have it resolved.

      Thank you so much for your response, my treatment was done at the VA. One of the injections he had difficulty (med student) finding the correct location and he was moving the needle around, felt like an icepick jabbing me multiple times (i started to see stars). It has been 8 days since the injection and I cannot bear weight on my right leg without a lot of pain. I'm not completely sure what system they used the nurse said they use an X-ray machine for correct location, I was on my back in an OR so could not see what was going on but don't think there was ultra sound was used. I've read from others on the net they have experienced a lot of pain as well but really i cannot walk and before this treatment i could hike for miles up and down hills with little difficulty. I'm wondering if the prp is working and that is why i cannot walk (i can walk baby steps for about 10 yards and then it is too painful.) I am a little desperate and will appreciate any insight you can give me and would be extremely grateful for your response....kind regards@@CaringmedicalProlotherapy

    • @CaringmedicalProlotherapy
      @CaringmedicalProlotherapy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Marga, Regenerative treatments take time to repair the tissue, just like healing of any tissue and pain is an indication there is still tissue damage. Usually the providers are trying to stop a train of degeneration happening in the joint and can take a few treatments to stop and reverse the ongoing damage. Our PRP protocols are unique to our clinic and we cannot comment on other PRP treatments specifically, nor do we know about your case in order to give you a better idea of what to expect. We can only advise that you speak with the provider who treated you, or their clinical team to get their opinion on your specific case. We wish you the best in your course of healing!

    What is the difference between ligament laxity and tear

    • @CaringmedicalProlotherapy
      @CaringmedicalProlotherapy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Asit, laxity means it's overstretched. Like an overstretched rubber band that has lost its strength and elasticity to hold 2 items together. A tear would be like cutting into that rubberband but not all the way that it snaps apart. Either way, it puts added pressure on the other parts of the rubber band, or in the case of joints, other structures that support the joint.

There are young people who are very unhealthy and there are seniors who look and have the health of someone decades younger. Prolotherapy with or without PRP or stem cells usually comes down to the individual and the provider's technique with addressing all of the degenerated/damaged areas. All the best to you!
