Granted, this series has had it's downfalls but to say we've had lots of great memories from the series as a whole over the last 15 years. What a series
This feels a little bit like a soft reboot to me, which I'm not against. It'll be nice to finally get back to basics and hopefully progress the story a little more. It feels like the modern story ground to a near halt after Desmond died

What I mean when I say it feels like a soft reboot is it feels like it's ignoring the last three entries to give us more of the old style of AC

He's basically saying those entries still happened in universe, but that the newer ones will basically ignore them and be completely standalone for the most part, they are still Canon.
Mirage actually seems like a revisit of Assassin's creed 1 and 2, So many instances in the trailer which actually link to the Assassin's Creed II ,Brotherhood and Revelations trailer . Excited for this game :)
Words cannot express how fantastic it is seeing AC go back to its roots. I have childhood memories of AC. I remember being mindblown the first time I parkoured. The incredible feeling of climbing, freerunning, stealth assassinations. It ushered in a whole new generation of video games. I will support Mirage the whole way. Maybe I’ll even buy one of those premium sets with the little figure in it. Please stick to the roots AC. This will be INCREDIBLE.

I think Ubisoft & AC are testing the market with Mirage. If support is strong & positive, it sends a signal to the company that investing in the original AC experience is worth it. It’s easy for me to sit back and pessimistically say “I’ll just wait and see,” but I really believe & support this new direction for AC, so I want to do my part and increase its chances for success RIGHT NOW. For years Apple fanboys were asking Apple to make an iPhone mini. Apple finally did it, but after a few years, the low demand couldn’t justify the production cost, even though fanboys were SO HAPPY. Now, in 2022, the iPhone mini lineup was completely stopped. I’m not sure if AC going back to its roots is going to be short lived or not, like Apple’s iPhone mini. But I damn sure hope it isn’t. And I believe making sure this is a long-lasting thing requires strong support, starting right now. I don’t want to wait and see if this fails. I want to actively support its success to ensure it doesn’t. That’s all I can really do as a consumer who’s super excited about this.

Man, please continue the stealth gameplay of Mirage down the line. There's still a lot of potential doing this in different lines of history. If immersion and realism is needed, include varying mission difficulties based on weather, time of the day, crowd temper, etc That's the soul of Assassin's Creed.

It's so exciting that rather than pick a single direction, they chose to embrace all aspects of the fandom. We are seeing Top Notch efforts at bringing the series back to roots for those who loved the originals, a great new installment in Japan for those who loved the open world RPG style, and a mobile offering and television show for those who are looking for more of a metaverse experience. Well done @ubisoft. Here's to 15 more great years from a fan who's been here from the beginning!
I was really hyped for a game to be in japan and I'm glad people will like it but I'm not too much of a big fan of rpg gameplay in assassin's creed but that's just me
My speculation about Assassins Creed Codename Hexe: Hexe means witch in German so definitely the game is going to depict the period of Witch Hunts in Medieval German/Holy Roman Empire era Considering the statement that it is going to be a very different title, it can be a horror game with survival elements, which makes a lot of sense within witchraft lore and forestry depicted in the showcase or might even include first person elements similar to resident evil village or blair witch titles. As it is going to be based on central/northern european myths, the title would be similar to last three RPG games in some ways, and probably be the direct continuation of Valhalla (early speculations soon after the release of valhalla also suggested that next title would be a medieval european based one and final chapter of valhalla would also provide hints about the story and location of chronogically next title, earliest speculations were pointing to a game which was set during the medieval England and crusades). Infinity will probably follow two ways approach to the franchise (considering the main titles) the codename red would be the first true assassin style stealth based game, and hexe would be the title that follows the mythology/folklore approach.
Honestly I think mirage is going to be the “classic” assassin’s creed title and Codename red will be more like Valhalla/origins/odessey I’m not sure why they decided to announce Hexe now it seems like that’s a 2025 release if its an open world RPG like codename red/odessey/origins/valhalla
I agree with the witchcraft element, but the short trailer for me smacks of the Salem Witch Trials. That could be an interesting part of history to explore.
AC Unity was the last game that actually felt like an AC game and I still play it. My favs will always be AC1, AC2, ACB, ACR and Unity. Its great to see AC go back to its roots and I am hoping this game will not disappoint.
I knew this wouldn't happen but I was hoping since many of the AC games had updated cover art, they would announce current gen upgrades for the games that still haven't gotten updated. So: AC3, Black Flag, Rogue, Unity and Syndicate
@@wisdom501 AC1 is backcompat on Xbox at 1440p60 on Series S and 4K60 on Series X, isn't playable on PS5. Most likely they'll give AC1 the AC3 treatment or flatout remake it.

As a Japanese, I am very happy to see the announcement of a new game set in Japan. I can't wait to see how the many Japanese deities will be represented as "lsu" how the assassin action will be combined with the ninja action, and how historical figures and events will be represented. Can't wait to play!
Guess I am the only person who loves every single game from Assassin's Creed I - Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Don't care what other people say, keep it going Ubisoft! Can't wait to see more about Mirage and Project Red!
Don't care about infinity or the mobile game. Love that they're basically indicating that we're going to get two kinds of Assassin's Creed games i.e., hopefully shorter Action Adventure games, like the older games, and the longer more expansive games, like the current trilogy. Hopefully it satisfies both legions of fans.

Started this whole series at 2011 in my second year junior high school, my 14 years old brain couldn't cope with the first game plot but I do enjoyed it a lot
infinity is more like MCC, a unified UI where each game is accessed from, in the interview they talk about "standalone multiplayer experiences" plural, so imagine new multiplayer only assassin's creed games or modes that are separate from the games but accessible through infinity the same way they are.

But honestly, we're going to play as a badass ninja parkouring and all. Slashing stealthy, smoke bombs and stabbing and disappearing, etc. Ghost of Tsushima bit Assassin's Creed style! What's not to like? And Hexe just peaks my interest. That little ambient soundtrack accompanying the teaser already sounds special 👌 😀
I love that Mirage is going back to the Assassins Creed roots. Story driven, Assassins, parkour and stealth. Smaller open world, lesser RPG elements and of course that famous White Hooded attire! Excellent work Ubisoft!!!

Can't express how much I'm looking forward to Mirage, it might be the game to bring me back to AC since Origins dropped. JADE and RED look really interesting as well (shame RED will be RPG though, but if the parkour and combat is cool idc), and as a big fan of webtoons I'm really excited for the Black Flag webtoon!

The Assassin's Creed series is one of thee best and most important game series on any console of PC....period. It has transcended time over the years and has produced so many wonderful and impactful stories. When you think about an AC game, you can actually remember back to different times in your life.
they probably will tbh, i'm not getting my hopes up yet. honestly they should have focused on codename red, im kinda sick of the vaguely middle eastern assassins creed setting and fans have been asking for a japanese AC for over a decade now, i think it would have generated waayy more buzz if they opened with codename red

While AC3 sold 3.52 million, Origins only sold 1.5 million, Odyssey only sold 1.4 million and Valhalla only sold 1.7 million. Pathetic, they alienated their fans. Meanwhile, the most AC game of the last 5 years, which is Ghost of Tsushima, sold 2.9 million copies in just a week, and that being an exclusive console release as well!!!
I never expected so much, and an actual development on a classic story based Assassin's Creed *AND* an RPG one based in feudal Japan. Ubisoft is listening and I'm all for it!!
I like that they're bringing the best of both: Mirage as a more classic AC-style game, and Red as a more open-ended RPG style. I'm one of the rare people that enjoyed Origins, Odyseey and Valhalla, so I'm glad to see they're not ditching it.
I'd be more happy if they just announced 'Red' and scrapped infinity. the idea of them adding all these titles like 'red' and 'hexe' and more in the future to a single title seems like it will be a mess and I believe they won't be full experiences kind of like shorter games with smaller maps.

I really liked that all the games are fully translated and voiced into Russian, as it boasts of delving into the plot, the world, the atmosphere of each part of this game. you understand facial expressions, the character of each speaking character. My heart sunk when they said the feudal Japan one would be open world RPG. If they are going down that route, keep the systems that they are bringing back with Mirage. Japan is *the* place for stealth, free movement, enemy variery - the works. Been hoping for an AC game in Japan since AC Chronicles China. Do not let me down, Ubisoft. You showed great potential today. For the love of all that is good, don't waste it. (And for goodness sake, cut down the map size and give proper thought to the exploration in the game. Elden Ring proved that a big world can be fun so long as it is dense and exciting. Innovate, Ubisoft - just like you did in 2007.
@@LOLxUnique The map can be big, but if they try and create a map on the level of Odyssey, Valhalla, or even Origins, there's no way the map will be dense enough to retain its players, not with the time frame they've had developing this game. It's a set up for failure.
Finally, this new game feels like the game I used to love and grow up playing with. Past few games is great, good story, good combat but they never felt like the Assassin's Creed to me. Sadly. But after seeing the trailer of Mirage I'm excited. I think the golden age of Assassin's Creed is finally coming back.
Assassins creed holds a special place in my heart. It’s the first game Franchise I have followed from beginning to now and what a ride it has been. Through good and bad I’ve always stayed loyal and I am excited for the future of Assassins creed.
Well Assassins Creed Codename Hexe sounds really interesting. Hexe is the german word for witch and that wooden AC-symbol reminded me a lot of witchcraft stuff, so i believe it will be a game set in germany during the witch persicution from the 16 century. I always dreamed for an assassins creed in germany, where i can walk through my city from a different time period.

I love the return to the series roots. Definitely reminiscent of AC 1, and some elements of Sands of Time even, which was the original foundation for the AC franchise.
A lot of games I used to love has let me down but Assassains creed as a series always held my attention even if it strayed away from its core gameplay a bit I’ve enjoyed the changes and pretty happy overall.
With how much love Assassin's Creed Mirage is getting they see the people clearly want old Assassin's Creed cuz it sucks an OG Assassin's Creed fan who's asked for Japan for such a long time for them to make it an RPG when they know damn well 90% of the people who asked for it since prefer the older games but I mean if it is an RPG sucks but at least someone will enjoy it
I love assassins creed so much...I just hope that the next 15 years respect where the franchise started and carry that forward into the bright future...I'm very hesitant about Mirage because of Basim and the choices made in Valhalla...but I'm cautiously optimistic...
man China is such a great setting with so much history, historical figures, varied weapons, and so many terrains. I really wished it was a console/pc game instead of a mobile game.

I began playing this series with the first game 7 years after its release because I was only 7 when it started. I loved everything about the series the history, the stories, the gameplay, and the characters. Ubisoft you outdid yourselves and I thank you for allowing me to be a part of the Assassin’s Creed Community. “Where other men blindly follow the truth, remember nothing is true. Where other men are limited by morality or law, remember everything is permitted. We work in the dark to serve the light. WE ARE ASSASSINS!”
Great I just need to say great work, hopefully everything will pan out they it looks on the trailer because after long time I'm excited for what Assassin's Creed is bringing, Mirage looks actually gives away the feel of the original Assassin's Creed game and I just hope to will be like that. Despite what people say ….. I love Assassin creed rpg open world games. An open world Japan is as cool as saying I wanna see an open world Egypt with pyramids that I can climb …… wait a second -- Ubisoft gets it. Shaun as host amazing! Love the guy, btw the intro maybe i was wrong after all, Assassins Creed has always been Assassins Creed. Different types of history. It's always been this. But we did not understand when origins first came out, we thought it was bad but then we knew more. And now they are going back to the Assassin roots where you truly have the tenants and seriousness again. But it was always this it's just origins, Odyssey and Valhalla play differently. Doesn't mean they are bad. They are still Assassin's Creed it all came together in this stream. I can never forget Ezio though he grabbed me so much at the ending with the speeches in 2, Brotherhood, Revelations. Requiescat in Pace Ezio. Ezio and Altair had a connection, Altair made an armour specifically for Ezio, and made him grow further in the Creed. In Revelations that came back and when i saw Altair's story come to an end but also the stuff we haven't seen in between AC 2 it was amazing. I was crying at the ending of Revelations when Ezio said "it is just me and you Altair" the same destiny, as Altair sits in a chair with his bones still in tact. That whole speech sended shivvers down my spine. Because Ezio knew his connection with Desmond, Altair so well at the end.
I twitched when I heard about Jade being on mobile like everyone else but after thinking about it, it might not be a bad option after the success of Genshin that's a playable open world on mobile, plus if it's happening in China, Chinese may want to have a look. In a lot of Asian countries most only play mobile games because of how little time between work they have, so giving a mobile experience isn't a bad idea.
Thank you Ubisoft for going back to the roots of AC by bringing Mirage, I had tears in my eyes while watching the trailer, please don't mess it up. Also I am glad that you finally listened about Feudal Japan, this setting was long awaited by fans like us. I hope the casting for AC tv series would be great ; considering it is with Netflix, I don't have much hope but still I will watch it and later give my final review.
This... It just made me so emotional, the 15 year journey mini movie, the bts documentary and most of all the symphony and novel. Was on the verge of shedding a tear or two really. Assassin's Creed is just sheer potential and legacy. ❤️🔥💗

I pray to the Isu that they take out the RPG leveling system and go back to AC3/Black Flag combat style. That was the absolute peak of the combat system. Also, NGL, was really hoping that the next game would take place in early colonial Latin America. Was really exited to see the ancient civilization take on the Mayan and Aztec pantheon of gods.
Leave it to Ubisoft to ask fans to preorder a game based solely on a 5 minute cinematic trailer with NO gameplay. I swear these companies do not listen to fans. AC fans have kept their wants simple: a tight, well written story, simple one hit assassinations, and a map with less clutter and busy work. A game back to its roots. Maybe Mirage can be that game, but everything else sounds like fluff and filler.

I haven't been this hyped for an Assassins Creed ever since 2 and Brotherhood. Mirage looks absolutely fantastic and the setting my home city Baghdad will make it much more special to me. How dare you announce another Assassins creed in Japan, now I cannot wait even more.
I like miriage, character gives me same vibes we saw from altiar and ezio as they went from rookie troublemakers to hardened vets. Only gripe is we know what happenes to miriage MC since he is in valhalla

I'm gonna laugh when Ubisoft fails to deliver on literally everything here. Starting with the new AC game (originally an expansion for Valhalla so that's already worrying enough). Then we have Jade that one could actually be interesting if they decide to make an actual good game (OG AC) but I cant help but think its because Tencent now has their hands into Ubisoft and last we have Red they better make this dope as hell or they are going to be stuck in the shadow of Ghost of Tsushima so expectations are already high not only because of that but even before the RPG AC games.
You've said it best, most others in the comment section are delusional simply drooling over some CGI trailers and scripted developer narratives. Get real, the most egregious part is announcing preorders and the collectors edition before we even see actual gamely footage.

It actually hurt seeing how garbage it all looks. Vague descriptions, zero gameplay for literally anything, but of course they show the Collector's Edition for Mirage despite not even showing gameplay. Some truly extreme milking of the IP.
Dear Ubisoft, Please bring back combat with the hidden blades, it could be like the old games where it just takes longer to kill an enemy rather than your main weapons. Bring back the attack counter animations actually looking like the weapons clashing together. Focus on Improving the walking and running animations with more parkour controls, as well as grabbing the ledge while falling. Less fantasy RPG simulator and more Assassin/Parkour simulator. Please focus on what’s important. Sincerely a dear fan.

Words cannot express how fantastic it is seeing AC go back to its roots. I have childhood memories of AC. I remember being mindblown the first time I parkoured. The incredible feeling of climbing, freerunning, stealth assassinations.
It ushered in a whole new generation of video games.
I will support Mirage the whole way. Maybe I’ll even buy one of those premium sets with the little figure in it. Please stick to the roots AC. This will be INCREDIBLE.

I think Ubisoft & AC are testing the market with Mirage. If support is strong & positive, it sends a signal to the company that investing in the original AC experience is worth it.
It’s easy for me to sit back and pessimistically say “I’ll just wait and see,” but I really believe & support this new direction for AC, so I want to do my part and increase its chances for success RIGHT NOW.
For years Apple fanboys were asking Apple to make an iPhone mini. Apple finally did it, but after a few years, the low demand couldn’t justify the production cost, even though fanboys were SO HAPPY. Now, in 2022, the iPhone mini lineup was completely stopped.
I’m not sure if AC going back to its roots is going to be short lived or not, like Apple’s iPhone mini. But I damn sure hope it isn’t. And I believe making sure this is a long-lasting thing requires strong support, starting right now.
I don’t want to wait and see if this fails. I want to actively support its success to ensure it doesn’t.
That’s all I can really do as a consumer who’s super excited about this.

Man, please continue the stealth gameplay of Mirage down the line. There's still a lot of potential doing this in different lines of history. If immersion and realism is needed, include varying mission difficulties based on weather, time of the day, crowd temper, etc

My speculation about Assassins Creed Codename Hexe:
Hexe means witch in German so definitely the game is going to depict the period of Witch Hunts in Medieval German/Holy Roman Empire era
Considering the statement that it is going to be a very different title, it can be a horror game with survival elements, which makes a lot of sense within witchraft lore and forestry depicted in the showcase or might even include first person elements similar to resident evil village or blair witch titles.
As it is going to be based on central/northern european myths, the title would be similar to last three RPG games in some ways, and probably be the direct continuation of Valhalla (early speculations soon after the release of valhalla also suggested that next title would be a medieval european based one and final chapter of valhalla would also provide hints about the story and location of chronogically next title, earliest speculations were pointing to a game which was set during the medieval England and crusades).
Infinity will probably follow two ways approach to the franchise (considering the main titles) the codename red would be the first true assassin style stealth based game, and hexe would be the title that follows the mythology/folklore approach.

AC Unity was the last game that actually felt like an AC game and I still play it. My favs will always be AC1, AC2, ACB, ACR and Unity. Its great to see AC go back to its roots and I am hoping this game will not disappoint.

As a Japanese, I am very happy to see the announcement of a new game set in Japan. I can't wait to see how the many Japanese deities will be represented as "lsu" how the assassin action will be combined with the ninja action, and how historical figures and events will be represented.

I love that Mirage is going back to the Assassins Creed roots. Story driven, Assassins, parkour and stealth. Smaller open world, lesser RPG elements and of course that famous White Hooded attire! Excellent work Ubisoft!!!
The trailer for Mirage seemed to have so many callbacks to Assassins Creed 1 too. Bench assassinations, knocking over market stalls, fast easy assassinations in smoke bombs etc - loved it! More excited for that now than the AC1 remake people wanted.

Can't express how much I'm looking forward to Mirage, it might be the game to bring me back to AC since Origins dropped. JADE and RED look really interesting as well (shame RED will be RPG though, but if the parkour and combat is cool idc), and as a big fan of webtoons I'm really excited for the Black Flag webtoon!

The Assassin's Creed series is one of thee best and most important game series on any console of PC....period. It has transcended time over the years and has produced so many wonderful and impactful stories. When you think about an AC game, you can actually remember back to different times in your life.

They were terrible. There is a reason most fans did not even play them. Just see the first week sales in units. While AC3 sold 3.52 million, Origins only sold 1.5 million, Odyssey only sold 1.4 million and Valhalla only sold 1.7 million. Pathetic, they alienated their fans.
Meanwhile, the most AC game of the last 5 years, which is Ghost of Tsushima, sold 2.9 million copies in just a week, and that being an exclusive console release as well!!!

I like that they're bringing the best of both: Mirage as a more classic AC-style game, and Red as a more open-ended RPG style. I'm one of the rare people that enjoyed Origins, Odyseey and Valhalla, so I'm glad to see they're not ditching it.

Finally, this new game feels like the game I used to love and grow up playing with. Past few games is great, good story, good combat but they never felt like the Assassin's Creed to me. Sadly.

Well Assassins Creed Codename Hexe sounds really interesting. Hexe is the german word for witch and that wooden AC-symbol reminded me a lot of witchcraft stuff, so i believe it will be a game set in germany during the witch persicution from the 16 century. I always dreamed for an assassins creed in germany, where i can walk through my city from a different time period.

I love the return to the series roots. Definitely reminiscent of AC 1, and some elements of Sands of Time even, which was the original foundation for the AC franchise.
A lot of games I used to love has let me down but Assassains creed as a series always held my attention even if it strayed away from its core gameplay a bit I’ve enjoyed the changes and pretty happy overall.

I began playing this series with the first game 7 years after its release because I was only 7 when it started. I loved everything about the series the history, the stories, the gameplay, and the characters. And now they are going back to the Assassin roots where you truly have the tenants and seriousness again. But it was always this it's just origins, Odyssey and Valhalla play differently. Doesn't mean they are bad. They are still Assassin's Creed it all came together in this stream. I can never forget Ezio though he grabbed me so much at the ending with the speeches in 2, Brotherhood, Revelations. Requiescat in Pace Ezio. Ezio and Altair had a connection, Altair made an armour specifically for Ezio, and made him grow further in the Creed. In Revelations that came back and when i saw Altair's story come to an end but also the stuff we haven't seen in between AC 2 it was amazing. I was crying at the ending of Revelations when Ezio said "it is just me and you Altair" the same destiny, as Altair sits in a chair with his bones still in tact. That whole speech sended shivvers down my spine. Because Ezio knew his connection with Desmond, Altair so well at the end.
Looks good! I wish we got to see anything on the Assassin’s Creed 1 Remake but hey, this also looks very promising.
I twitched when I heard about Jade being on mobile like everyone else but after thinking about it, it might not be a bad option after the success of Genshin that's a playable open world on mobile, plus if it's happening in China, Chinese may want to have a look. In a lot of Asian countries most only play mobile games because of how little time between work they have, so giving a mobile experience isn't a bad idea.
Thank you Ubisoft for going back to the roots of AC by bringing Mirage, I had tears in my eyes while watching the trailer, please don't mess it up. Also I am glad that you finally listened about Feudal Japan, this setting was long awaited by fans like us. I hope the casting for AC tv series would be great ; considering it is with Netflix, I don't have much hope but still I will watch it and later give my final review.
This... It just made me so emotional, the 15 year journey mini movie, the bts documentary and most of all the symphony and novel. Was on the verge of shedding a tear or two really. Assassin's Creed is just sheer potential and legacy. ❤️🔥💗

I pray to the Isu that they take out the RPG leveling system and go back to AC3/Black Flag combat style. That was the absolute peak of the combat system. Also, NGL, was really hoping that the next game would take place in early colonial Latin America. Was really exited to see the ancient civilization take on the Mayan and Aztec pantheon of gods.

Leave it to Ubisoft to ask fans to preorder a game based solely on a 5 minute cinematic trailer with NO gameplay. I swear these companies do not listen to fans. AC fans have kept their wants simple: a tight, well written story, simple one hit assassinations, and a map with less clutter and busy work. A game back to its roots. Maybe Mirage can be that game, but everything else sounds like fluff and filler.
So disappointing that china and japan are moved to the side just for bagdad. So much potential with ninjas and shao jun with ezio

I haven't been this hyped for an Assassins Creed ever since 2 and Brotherhood. Mirage looks absolutely fantastic and the setting my home city Baghdad will make it much more special to me. How dare you announce another Assassins creed in Japan, now I cannot wait even more.
I like miriage, character gives me same vibes we saw from altiar and ezio as they went from rookie troublemakers to hardened vets. Only gripe is we know what happenes to miriage MC since he is in valhalla
I’m not going to get my hopes up but mirage seems to be going back to the basics. None of that rpg garbage they’ve been trying with the last 3 games. If they want to make rpgs then they need to go all out and make a new ip. I hope mirage’s parkour is more similar to ac unity. I wouldn’t mind a complete carbon copy either lol.

I'm gonna laugh when Ubisoft fails to deliver on literally everything here. Starting with the new AC game (originally an expansion for Valhalla so that's already worrying enough). Then we have Jade that one could actually be interesting if they decide to make an actual good game (OG AC) but I cant help but think its because Tencent now has their hands into Ubisoft and last we have Red they better make this dope as hell or they are going to be stuck in the shadow of Ghost of Tsushima so expectations are already high not only because of that but even before the RPG AC games.
You've said it best, most others in the comment section are delusional simply drooling over some CGI trailers and scripted developer narratives.
Get real, the most egregious part is announcing preorders and the collectors edition before we even see actual gamely footage.

Dear Ubisoft,
Please bring back combat with the hidden blades, it could be like the old games where it just takes longer to kill an enemy rather than your main weapons.
Bring back the attack counter animations actually looking like the weapons clashing together.
Focus on Improving the walking and running animations with more parkour controls, as well as grabbing the ledge while falling.
Less fantasy RPG simulator and more Assassin/Parkour simulator. Please focus on what’s important.
