It was the controller that paved the way for all other controllers after. DJ’s didn’t take controllers seriously until the DDJ-SX came out. Now there are some serious stand alone and controllers out now. I sill use my DDJ-SX and love it! I use Beatport streaming service and have been having a blast! I don’t use control vinyl, so the other DDJ versions are not needed to me. Although it would have been nice to have mic reverb on the DDJ-SX like the 2 & 3 versions have. The new(ish) Stems works great one this!! Nothing like cutting vocals off for a nice dance beat. If you want a great controller in 2024. This is the one!!
With the Stems feature you can cut out (or isolate) Vocals Keys Bass Drums But make sure you have a good computer to run it off. Stems will take a lot of CPU. Gaming computer laptops are a great option! Congrats on getting the DDJ-SX!! I love mine!! Oh you will need to go into the settings and replace either sampler, roll or slicer with Stems. Because stems came out much later than the DDJ-SX came out
You can use the Kaossilator on the master out of any DJ controller, so yes. The RMX-1000 has been designed to be used with Master Outputs, so consider that too for a killer combination.
Good questions! When playing from Serato, the mixing is done by software and uses Serato DJ filter and EQ. When you add turntables or CDJs, those go through the real mixer and filter and get mixed with the master soundcard channel at the output stage. The components in each product are often slightly different, but we always pass down the latest developments and improvements we make to circuit and component design.
You can play video files using the included Free Serato DJ plugin. You can transcode your DVD and VOB files into a video format that Serato Video will play and you don't have to mess around with Discs.
Serato DJ will launch with 10 FX powered by iZotope. The pads are used for four functions, Slip Roll, Cue points, Slicer and Sampler. In sampler mode, they can be set to Velocity sensitive mode. Serato DJ does not have the function to change the mapping.
Oooooooh, that makes sense, Upon further review, I can see this. One thing I will love about this controller is the jogs, slip mode and the pads. Looks incredibly fun to use!
It's a proper mixer for mixing real external audio equipment with real onboard components. To be clear, it works even without the computer connected. It also has real filters, that work on the turntable, Mic, or Line inputs. It can replace your mixer and be a part of your bigger setup, if you still love vinyl, etc.
So you put a NI S4 in a bowl, you add the Novation Twich, and to give it flavour, you add the beautiful Numark NS6, you then take a pionieer electric mixer, and mix it untill you guet a substanciall, great looking peace of hardware, then you add the pioneer hi end technology and you have the Pioneer DDJ-SX!! Great job guys finally making controllers that don't look like toys!! Now would be nice to see a Traktor edition of that one (but dont change the design like numark did)
Can't wait to get this to try out.. review comin soon. I have the vci 380 and its a nice controller too.. but the layout on this ddjsx looks a lot better since almost all the controls are on the top.
With the release of a Windows 8, Serato are currently working towards making its software work without issue. It is testing with Windows 8 but does not currently support it.
Well done, Pioneer. This looks like it's gonna be a winner. I didn't think so when I saw the pictures, but this video has certainly convinced me that this is a serious piece of kit.
1. There will no doubt be Traktor TSI mapping files available to make it work and you can set this up yourself with a bit of research. 2. Yes of course and vinyl, and two mics.
To be honest Pioneer, I think most subscribers would agree, now we just want to see a killer performance featuring a good Dj using the DDJSX with Serato DJ. Then we can all run out and buy it.. lol
This and a laptop is so much more practical than CDJs, I can't believe that people really still want to use CDs. So many DJs are ridiculously tech-averse..
IDK if you guys didnt hear what he said..but the pads will control hot cues, slicer, sampler, and rolls..why dont you observe and listen to the video before asking questions that already has been answered
As in the SX but integrated with native NHL communication for Traktor. Differences? Standalone Mixer, Traktor Scratch certified, decent rubber hot cue pads, dedicated filter knobs, flux mode, capacitive jog wheels, and a number of other improvements similar to those the DDJ-SX saw from the DDJ-S1.
Love love what pioneer has done here, this is quite the king of controllers + serato DJ....the only gripe i have are the polished aluminum jog wheels, why not black like other cdjs? but then i noticed this wasn't the case for the original controller (maybe the test version)...chechout the video 13 seconds in...guess we'll have to spray paint it our selves or use stickers to get that sleek cdj style look! I already pre-ordered mine ($999)...for the features alone it's worth it
This actually looks pretty much perfect! Seems to have everything! Wish it was for Traktor, but tbh, given the features I would seriously consider switching to Serato...
not upon release, but eventually it will be able to be remapped via MIDI, probably for things like traktor or ableton. however, serato dj will be midi mappable to any control surface.
To be honest it does look fancy. It combines several necessary elements with cool extra features - whereas on the other side there is nothing new or innovative. However I can't wait to see more videos or tutorials :)
As soon as the software is completely finished we'll be straight on that for you. We are planning some performance videos with some very special people too, so subscribe and keep an eye on the dedicated playlist.
What an awesome controller! Though I love love my DJM900, Maybe soon I can have Pioneer quality sound and full Traktor integration all in one package (DDJ-TX)
This controller is for an entirely new version of Serato called "Serato DJ" which is $199 for current "DJ Intro" users and free for "Serato Itch" users. It does support Sync, four deck layout, Serato Video (which is being included at no cost with the first 10,000 units) and is being released November 1st via Serato.com.
This is the first controller I've seen other than the VCI-400 that really has the potential to unseat the S4. This combined with Serato DJ (supposing they're both good) = look out Traktor.
Most mixers don't have the Pioneer Sound Color Filter on every channel. That's a low and high pass filter on one dial, which is one of the most useful DJ functions you can get. Let me know what you're missing and i'll tell you if it's there or not.
I hope that the effects are a lot better in the new upcoming Serato DJ program that will replace Serato Itch. I am really considering purchasing this controller. I kinda wish you would add send and return to add a effects processor.
Exactly my friend :) Us Traktor users would like an SX but naively integrated with Traktor! :) You can try to re-map the SX to work with Traktor but there are a number of problems. Even the most complex mappings that the community have put together have problems apparently, and unless Pioneer work with Native Instruments on the integration, a controller will only work in MIDI, not NHL, so the platter will be low resolution and completely useless for scratching etc.
I had an NS6, i might upgrade to this tbh. For a beginner tho idk might wanna try something cheaper yk all really depends on how you feel with the program
Wow I don't see any complaints or bashing. This usually happens when something new comes out. How long will it be before someone says something negative?
cant take any more, mine is being delivered on Monday :)
Getting mine in a few weeks :) How you like it so far?
It was the controller that paved the way for all other controllers after. DJ’s didn’t take controllers seriously until the DDJ-SX came out. Now there are some serious stand alone and controllers out now.

Hey man I’m looking at getting one. An og ddj-sx. So it won’t be able to cut out vocals?
With the Stems feature you can cut out (or isolate)
Vocals
Keys
Bass
Drums
But make sure you have a good computer to run it off. Stems will take a lot of CPU. Gaming computer laptops are a great option!

Yes, they can, you can even use two effects on two mics at the same time, plus EQ and Hi/Lo-pass filter...
This is by a mile the best dj controller EVER!
this with a traktor mapping will be great especially in this price thanks again pioneer
To use Channel Fader Start you hold down Shift and pull the fader up. Whenever you don't hold Shift and use the fader, it's off.
You can use the Kaossilator on the master out of any DJ controller, so yes. The RMX-1000 has been designed to be used with Master Outputs, so consider that too for a killer combination.

now that is a really fine tuned piece of machine , i dont think anything compares to this model or make . well done pioneer , im a believer.

I'm picking this up tomorrow morning! I'll be posting a review with a mix shortly thereafter!
Long Live Pioneer!
Solid products as always!
Buying this in 2 days... I can't wait to get my hands on this...
This is really nice Pioneer. You got yourself a beautiful controller.
pioneer never stops to amaze :)
I have this controller. Worth every cent. Love it to bits :)
you don't need a laptop for the mixer to work, even the filter works standalone mode. But the deck areas are Midi only
Booth out , phono plugins ....... The people have spoke and pioneer has listened ! I want mine now ..... !!!!!!!
Ordering this as soon as Guitar Center opens.
You can play digital video files from your computer using Serato Video plugin, first 10,000 units come with a free serial.
The crossfader is the only user replaceable component. Thanks for watching!
Im more than prepared to convert for this beauty.
Pioneer needs to take this into account and furnish these ASAP
Seemt very solid and the output to the DJ booth is a very nice feature for prof usage, very well done Pioneer!
Looks very nice. Still waiting of this serato dj software
i brought this 2 days ago and i think i´m in love
So you put a NI S4 in a bowl, you add the Novation Twich, and to give it flavour, you add the beautiful Numark NS6, you then take a pionieer electric mixer, and mix it untill you guet a substanciall, great looking peace of hardware, then you add the pioneer hi end technology and you have the Pioneer DDJ-SX!!

Now would be nice to see a Traktor edition of that one (but dont change the design like numark did)

Can't wait to get this to try out.. review comin soon. I have the vci 380 and its a nice controller too.. but the layout on this ddjsx looks a lot better since almost all the controls are on the top.

Cheers.
The speaker stands are made by Ardan Audio Limited
You can adjust the brake speed in Serato DJ. Also, the diameter of the top of the platter is approximately 13cm. Thanks for watching!
With the release of a Windows 8, Serato are currently working towards making its software work without issue. It is testing with Windows 8 but does not currently support it.
DDJ-SX Bad Boy!! could be a nice christmas present :)
yes, works almost exactly the same, but with loop move, no memory points though
I love this, I need to get this ASAP.....
can't wait till i get it on my hands!
Well done, Pioneer. This looks like it's gonna be a winner. I didn't think so when I saw the pictures, but this video has certainly convinced me that this is a serious piece of kit.
I'm so glad I held off on purchasing the NI S4 due to it looking like a toy. Purchasing this Pioneer with any extra ta xreturn.
might buy one. looks very promising.
It will be at BPM, but the software will not be finalised in time, so you can touch and feel.
We havent tested it, but since the crossfader is replaceable who knows who might decide to offer custom options for that.
I can confirm it is a 24 bit sound card
Thank you, pioneerdjsounds
1. There will no doubt be Traktor TSI mapping files available to make it work and you can set this up yourself with a bit of research.
2. Yes of course and vinyl, and two mics.
Thanks!
With a TSI mapping file, yes.
To be honest Pioneer, I think most subscribers would agree, now we just want to see a killer performance featuring a good Dj using the DDJSX with Serato DJ. Then we can all run out and buy it.. lol
Looks very nice. Still waiting some demo from DJs
ah ok David, cheers for that , changes everything ...

Nice dude, I'm getting one for my 16th birthday, I'm so fucking excited.
Thanks for your quick and nice answer. Already described and passionately waiting for the videos ;)

Honestly, that's like... everything.
Nice one! see this at BPM!
Still waiting for it...
Do me one favour next time, announce it when they are available within 24 hours and don´t let me wait that long ;)
Finallly! But what happened to contolling the start and stop time for the joh wheels???

They are a similar size to the s1 but they feel smaller due to the centre jog display and more sensative due to static tech.
That's awesome!!
they just posted a bunch of pics with the different layouts. you can find it on their facebook page.
It cost about 990 Euro. and it is FANTASTIC!!!!! Really good if you use it with SERATO..
$1199, EUR 999, £809 (including VAT). Plus first 10,000 units have free Serato Video serial.
I hope that the effects are a lot better in the new upcoming Serato DJ program that will replace Serato Itch. I am really considering purchasing this controller. I kinda wish you would add send and return to add a effects processor.
for only $1000 this thing is a steal
I was starting to think Serato was the biggest waste of $600 but now it has just become the greatest software I own
Very cool stuff!
i am really hoping pioneer brings out something similar for traktor users.
We're all waiting for a DDJ-TX.

Can the Effects be used on the Microphone? If this is so this controller will replace my whole Set-UP!
Wow I don't see any complaints or bashing. This usually happens when something new comes out. How long will it be before someone says something negative?
Lookin good!
Love it!
