My sister is going through cancer treatments and has lost her hair. I am planning on making her some hats. Thank you so much for this very clear, easy to follow tutorial. I appreciate it.
Thank you for these directions. I’m an experienced knitter and crocheted a switch off depending on what the charity I work for needs. Beautiful tutorial, clear spoken and written instructions and your demonstrations are easy to follow. Much easier pattern than I’ve been doing in either category. Thank you for sharing your time and talent.
I’m just learning how to knit. Trying to get the hang of knitting and purling. This looks basic enough that I think I can do it. Definitely gonna try. Thank you!
Guera593 there are a lot of wonderful tutorials on TH-cam for beginners and different casting on and off methods so if you get tangled up with one seek out a different technique. A very relaxing and rewarding hobbies of which you can tack in whatever direction you’re looking to go with your efforts.
@@dtraveler3080 in a cooking video, just because the chef says he needs to boil something for 6 hours, doesn't mean he will record the whole process of boiling for 6 hours. Perhaps the knitter here just did most of the steps off-camera so that she can save us time too. :)
I'm a very beginner knitter, and after I finish the scarf I'm working on (which is also my first knitted work) I think I'll revisit this video and follow along. You give really easy to follow and understand instructions, and you tought me how to purl, so thanks
I am a new knitter , never been able to follow a pattern. Finding you on TH-cam you talked me though in baby steps made it easy for me.I really appreciate your help . Have just finished my hat and sewn it up & now going to try & make a Pom-Pom. Thank you 🎉
Hi... That is such a cute beanie there.. The instructions are so simple and clear.. I hope to make it soon.. Also, you come across as such a beautiful person.. I love listening to your voice.. It is really soothing.. God bless you..!!!
this is exactly what I needed. I searched for an hour trying to find a good video and this was it. I messed up 3 times, but luckily I fixed it. It looks amazing and I can not wait to make more in quarantine because it is a really good quarantine activity and you get something out of it! :)
This was a lovely tutorial! My grandma taught me to knit but she passed away earlier this year before she was able to teach me to knit a hat. Your video made it easy and you have a very soothing voice ❤️
I've crocheted a lot but never tried knitting. I decided on your beanie as my very first knitting project. I have to say, I absolutely love it! I made a couple mistakes but you can barely tell. I think I prefer knitting beanies over crocheting. Thank you so much for your time and providing this video!
this tutorial is so easy! i'm just learned how to knit a month ago, i want to make a hat but don't have a loom. this will make it easier. This was so helpful!!
How clever! I have never seen this method before. I am mainly a crocheter. This truly encouraged me to try to knit a hat. I was looking for something like this. Thank you!!
I messed it up. Lol. 😂 But l learned something Follow your exact directions I am doing another one. Starting it The one I made looks like the Knights Bc it goes down to the neck I left open room for face- Hilarious 🤣, bit it IS EFFECTIVE in cold Thanks
Rick Amira I messed up mine too. I didn’t end up doing the knit and purl because I kept messing it up so I just did knit and it looks like it’s really short. I’m not finished it yet but i only have 10 rows left and it’s tiny still
I just finished watching this video and it's 11:41 PM where I am. I'm sooo excited to knit and try this but i gotta sleep first! 😅 Thank you for sharing this tutorial. I can't wait to try this!
Just finished mine it came out a bit small but I used a less thick and stretchy wool. But I love it so much this is a great and easy to follow tutorial ❤️
I just finished my first knitted hat using your video. Thank you for the clear instructions. For some reason the ribs didnt quite come out right and I accidently added a few more rows. But that is okay! I will be using this tutorial again when I knit a beanie next time.
Thank you so much this was so easy to follow I literlly only got knitting needles and yarn yesterday and you made me understand how to knit a hat so easily. Thank you so much! You are a great teacher and I wish you all the best with everything!
I’d just like to say thank you so much, not only are you talented but you take the time to explain everything simple enough so even I can get it. Many thanks :)
This video is so relaxing and easy to watch and follow. Can't wait to get some new yarn to try this so I can make a gift for some very special people. This video helps a lot! Thank you!
Love this tutorial, at first I did not understand at all how to knit but I'm finally doing a beanie, even if I don't understand a lot the language 😅 Thank you for sharing with us this tutorial!!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial, I tried my first beanie ever since my daughter challenged me during lockdown to try something new and I am not a knitter. Although the beanie did not turn out as expected,I will try again with the wool you suggested. With blessings Lisa-Jane
That k you sooo much! I recently tried to make a beanie for my grandma but it was way too small, so I decided to try you and it turned out perfectly! Highly recommended ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for this tutorial. Teaching myself how to knit different types of hats during this corvid -19 pandemic. I will knit this for sure. Stay safe.
I knitted my first beanie a year 1/2 ago with this tutorial & many more after, thank you so much! Currently trying to knit this hat for my 4 year old sister - do you have a childrens - sized tutorial for this? This is the only ribbed beanie pattern on straight needles I can find! (If anyone else in the comments modified this pattern for a childrens size - feel free to comment too!) thanks!
Wow this is brilliant and very easy to follow. Thanks so much. I'm just picking up the yarn today. Already have kneedles, what's the kneedle you use at the end called used to stitch both ends together. I need to get one of those. Cheers
This is my first time knitting so idk anything. I'm tryin o follow your video instructions step by step, but sometimes it looks like your wrapping your yarn around the needle twice when doing some of the knit stitches and pearl stitches when your doing rows 1 and 2. I'm assuming that I'm just seeing it wrong??? Yarn only get wrapped around needle once for each K and P stitches ya? Sry thank you for your time and help, as well as for making such a great video! :)
Would it be bad to use a yarn that is not very stretchy? I got a thicker yarn (6). Also! I have the exact circumference, is there a way to use this when creating the first stitches?
I did exactly what you said, in fact, I had to add a couple more rows in just to make the work measure 7.5 inches. In the end, my beanie fit and looked like a child's beanie... :/ does this mean I need to cast on more than 72 stitches in the beginning, and add more rows to fit the desired width/length? Thanks!
How do you know it will fit your head? do you have to measure your head and then do the number of stitches based on how big your head is? or is it just standard? sorry that sounds like a stupid question! thanks for the tutorial! its great x
Great video. It was so easy to follow. My beanie came out shorter than yours even though I followed your instructions. I’m wondering if it’s the type of wool I used. No idea what it is I found it in our kids craft box.
I used the same ply, same needle size and same yarn type (different brand/colour/pattern/etc), mine wasn't as long/wide either... I think we have to add more stitches in the beginning and more rows throughout the work? I'm still beginner so I'm learning myself
Thank you so much for the video i just started working following your directions but im making a toddler size beanie , can you please answer me with the measurments like how many rows with k2p2 ?
hi! ive just learned how to knit and every time I try this my knitting is wavy at the bottom. is this ok and will it just even out as I had more rows? also I cast on the right amount of stitches but then I somehow have more stitches as I add more rows? what am I doing wrong?
My sister is going through cancer treatments and has lost her hair. I am planning on making her some hats. Thank you so much for this very clear, easy to follow tutorial. I appreciate it.
That's really sweet of you, hope your sister is doing well :D
How is she doing since its been a year...
You Are Welcome. Spread The Love🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Hi is your sis ok now?

Thanks and you are welcome Alissa
I’m just learning how to knit. Trying to get the hang of knitting and purling. This looks basic enough that I think I can do it. Definitely gonna try. Thank you!

Karen Escalera ...Thank you Karen. You are so right. There’s so much in TH-cam. Such a great resource. I’m so enjoying learning many new patterns. 😊
Thank you for the tutorial just used it to knit my first hat ☺️ I used a thicker yarn and 8mm needles which worked out great
How many stitches did you cast on?
How many stitches you cast on??
I cast on 61 stitches for a stretchy roughly 24 -25 inch hat circumference 😊
Hard for me to believe she did this, we saw one row of finished stitches, then an almost finished project.
@@dtraveler3080 in a cooking video, just because the chef says he needs to boil something for 6 hours, doesn't mean he will record the whole process of boiling for 6 hours. Perhaps the knitter here just did most of the steps off-camera so that she can save us time too. :)
Easy to follow instructions for inexperienced knitter. Thankyou for this video

I've crocheted a lot but never tried knitting. I decided on your beanie as my very first knitting project. I have to say, I absolutely love it! I made a couple mistakes but you can barely tell. Thanks. This tutorial has been very helpful.

Hi I liked your video thanks for sharing. Will the number of stitches do for a a gent size? And for 4 ply wool what size needles should I use?
So far I've made 2 adult sized but they are both super short. They don't cover my ears all the way. Can I just add additional rows?
So when you’re knitting the first row, do you want to do it kind of loose not too tight? I think I struggle because maybe I am knitting too tight
hi! ive just learned how to knit and every time I try this my knitting is wavy at the bottom. is this ok and will it just even out as I had more rows? also I cast on the right amount of stitches but then I somehow have more stitches as I add more rows?
what am I doing wrong?
This was so amazing 😉 my 1st knit project turned out so cool I just did different patterns but it looks so amazing 😉
Mommy, and son hat so cute.😀💜
Does she knit and purl two at a time or one at a time but she does it twice for each? Very awesome video I can’t wait to start
How many cast on and rows would i have to do, to make it longer?
Do you no how many stitches l would need it l made this hat using double knit wool on 4.5 needles, many thanks
loving hat and I love the colour of the yarn you are using thank you very much for sharing !! Beautiful!
You're welcome Carmela
