Excellent instruction for a beginner! It has step-by-step and row-by-row stitch pattern explained. One perfect for me to knit in a relaxed manner! Thanks for sharing!
I love this tutorial so much i watched a lot of tutorials for the hat which were far longer but was unable to follow because of unclear instructions but this one is just sooo good even though it’s a very short video and may seem like it might be hard for a beginner to follow but this is the easiest one
I LOVE this tutorial! Hat turned out great! Can you do a tutorial on how to knit socks? You explain things so clearly. That's the only thing I'm having a hard time with and existing tutorials seem hard to follow. Thanks! 😊
I learned socks But then I had to turn around and make another one just like it and that was kind of hard to do because I guess I'm inconsistent in knitting. So I just decided I would make odd socks and everybody could wear different kind of socks. But then when I wore them they were slippery with the wood floors in the wool or the acrylic so I gave up socks.
I suppose I should have asked before starting but I just followed all you steps. You say 11” for adult but the 70 cast on is looking small, is the adult size more cast ons?
Woww I found the hat to knit. I've been looking for ribbed hat to knit. Thanks for the detailed tutorial. May we know the guage though? GOD BLESS. LOVE IT!
This is going to sound so weird lol….but can I see how you hold your needles? I get super discombobulated and lost with my yarn and my needles. But I feel like your way would make sense to me 😅 Sorry if this is an odd request and you don’t want to do it lol. I totally get it!
The wrong side is where the first stich you made is on the left side or end of your needle, there is the little tail of yarn hanging as well on the bottom of your work. The right side is when you have your first stitch on the right side, on the beginning of your needle. That’s where your ‘little tail’ of yarn are hanging too. I hope this will help you.

It's in the description box, yes it is also 70. Just use size 8 needles instead of 7. That said, if it doesn't match you, you could always go for thicker yarn and a size up on the needles
There’s no way that 70 stitches cast on will fit an adult head. I’m not sure why I waited until half way done with this project to come to that conclusion. I’ve made many hats before and have always done around 120-140 cast on for adult hats. Especially with this gauge of needles. Just a heads up for all you looking to make one! 😂this one will be for my niece or nephew for sure 😅
@ I was holding two different kinds of yarn together and maybe didn’t gauge the needles right the first time. However I’ve made three of these now and they’ve worked great! But first I’ll try out a sample and knit a few small rows and measure how many stitches are in an inch of my work (ex lets say theres 4 stitches in 1”) and I know that my head is 21 inches, then take 21x4 and I’d know I’ll need 84 stitches cast on for my head size in that yarn weight. Just a heads up with this ribbed stitching your cast on should be divisible by 4, makes it much easier:)
@@abbytueller3168i’m new to knitting so i’m just a bit confused if i should use the recommended yarn weight (4) and needle size (5 mm) for this hat for it to be able to fit my head (which is the same size as yours) or if i need to change needle size
Nasi.... Choose your Yarn, and Associated Needle Sizes (See Yarn Band Label Info advise.) Knit a little Swatch in desired Stitches, again as per Band info. Hello. I have a family member with Alzheimer’s who had this type of pattern in printed form. She has used it so much it’s haggard. Is there a way to get these instructions in traditional printed instructions?
I thought you were meant to knit the knits and purl the purls, mine ended up doing the opposite with 70 stitches. It messed up my number of stitches. What am I doing wrong lol
You do still knit the knits and purl the purls. It's just with 2 by 2 rib, in this case where there is an odd number of stitch *pairs,* (70 stitches equals 35 *pairs*) you have to do each row opposite of the row you just did to still be able to achieve the rib design. Odd/even affects how it lines up...although there are an even number of overall stitches, it's an odd number of pairs (since for 2 by 2 rib, you're going 2 by 2, so it affects the way the design divides). I know, becauee I was confused by this too...I'm used to doing 1 by 1 rib.
a row means when all of the stitches on your left needle go to your right one so the left is empty and the right has the whole project and then you flip it over

How did the top end of the hat become gathered. Have I missed something?
Starts at 2:09 with the shaping and at the end you thread the tail through all remaining stitches and pull and it should close up
Hey everyone ,does anyone have an estimated time on how long it takes to make this hat, i feel so slowww
3days later I finally knitted my first hat
Is this measurement for child or adult
look at the description
How is there only a cast on of 70 stitches. Presumably that is a childs size, so what amount of cast on stitches are needed for an adult hat?
You can make it what size you like , just knit until the rectangle is long enough to fit your head . The width (77st) is the height of the hat .

Is it bean okay for man bean
What does she mean by row?
a row means when all of the stitches on your left needle go to your right one
so the left is empty and the right has the whole project and then you flip it over
What's a wrong side row?
It’s the back of your work. The first row you knit will be the right side. The second row you work is the wrong side.
