This scene reminds me now 25 just how fast and time goes by its seconds in this lifetime. When you find the one hold on to her because you change as you grow and you will never get that chance back that’s what dear John taught me no matter how much you love that person.

Well yes, but the reality of it is that she's married to someone else because she couldn't wait for John, and if she broke John's heart the way she did, she doesn't get to hug him and she knows it. Even though John is the love of her life - she just messed it up.

idk. Some people are just comfortable in their daily routines and happy with that. Not saying he didn't have an issue but I think he made the best of it. We all have our comfort zone to a certain extent

The book has a heartbreaking ending..glad they had happy ending in the movie
What happens
There's actually an alternate ending scene for the movie, where during its last moments, at least onscreen, as Savannah looks up in the night sky wandering about her ex-lover, John himself is looking at her from afar, and after that, he just walked away from her (but, not out of hatred, ofc) in silence.

I served for 24 years and seen this movie played out in real life too many times. The greatest thing you can do is be successful, be happy and live your best life. No regrets, it’s a learning experience. That which does not kill me only makes me stronger.

My childhood -ex showed up again for third time. Met her first back in 2015. Then 2018 again met for the second time. Hope this third time is a charm. She ran off first time when she's young as I wanted to marry her. Second time we bumped in same city but she's pregnant with another man which made me upset to walk away. She is a single mum now and it's been 8 years I knew her in this situationship. In 2023-Feb, she again bumped into me 🌹 I wish she don't hold back this time.
