Great video Paul, thanks! A very smart way from Soke to illustrate his teaching of "Why do you think what you think?" and the un-learning/questioning of our beliefs. Cool guests too! Gambatte!
Thank you so much again, Paul! Some people focus only on the physical aspect of the art, which is perfectly fine. But there's so much more to it on a deeper level. Everyone takes away something different based on what they seek. If someone wants to fight, they'll find the opportunity. If someone is looking for another form of dance, they can experience that in some way too. If they want to connect with others, they'll have that chance. These are all possibilities. However, on another level, you can also observe yourself, and through these teachings, gain self-awareness, recognize your 'wires', and perhaps even let go of them. Thank you for sharing, also it was great to meet you again in Hungary.
TIME TO GO WIRELESS!! FREE THE BLUETOOTH!! 😂😂😂 Thank you Paul again. Mindblowing piece of wisdom in here, i remember when we chat about this a while ago. Hope everything is going great for you, your family and the practice!
Great video! I think I had my own “bonsai moment” several years ago when I read that beliefs create reality, not the other way around. Up until that mind blowing insight, I had thought that reality creates beliefs! Not so! I had it backwards. 🤯 The bonsai is a beautiful analogy of that concept. Anyway, that was a pivotal moment for me and ever since then I’ve been paying a lot more attention to my own beliefs as well as others’ and I have become quite a bit more malleable and willing to be wrong. I recall Thich Nhat Hanh suggesting we ask ourselves “Are you sure?” often, especially when we feel very sure about, say, a belief and I try to remember to do that to check myself especially when I’m sure I’m right about something. 😂 Thank you also for mentioning humility because I do believe that is not just helpful but a superpower.
@@damiengrenham6359 when you realize what you thought was you , isn't you at all. then you develop wings to soar! it will take some unwinding and constant attention. but worth it!
Nice place like canada. Meanwhile, us on Walpole got tiny pterodactyls ( mosquitoes) trying to carry us off. Or the ezigaag ( wood tick) are the size of the bug from Space Troopers.
most ppl are "made by the time their 7 years old , " by their sub concious mind being programed, that has all these thought being constricted, so as im now 62 im just begining to reprogram my minds "bad" thoughts etc, by going into the subconcious mind, to find answers as to why i do , say , and think the way i do , and over come the fears i have an be a better person.
Before getting to your video i scrolled past a flat earther and anti jabber, and noticed my reaction at first is wanting to comment, like i could change their minds, or more likely, so i could feel better about my own "wires". I resist and am glad for not commenting, but the urge is still there. How to not get that urge in the first place?
