i think it's both ironic and a little cute that the owner of this home had a plush of the pokemon minccino, which is a pokemon that likes to clean... like it feels like they wanted the motivation from a little friend :'( wonderful work as always, auri!!! you're an angel on this earth
People need to remember that it’s not just depression that can lead homes to being like this. ADHD with or without ASD can do it, too. Lots of buying things to get a dopamine hit mixed with executive dysfunction making it hard to tidy and clean, particularly when there are a lot of belongings, it’s overwhelming. I always put these videos on to help me when sorting my house out 😊
The cool thing is, putting the video on might work as a virtual body double which, for anyone who doesn't know, is when someone works alongside you which often motivates people on the spectrum to also work!
I have the double whammy of ADHD (with mostly executive dysfunction) and depression.. Her positivity helps me cleaning after bad phases (I'm cleaning rn/having my break while cleaning)
It's hard not to judge these people but I'm trying. I'm actually the opposite. I get a dopamine hit when I get rid of stuff. Your life feels so simple and clean when you get rid of stuff.
@@bunniewood I'm trying to get there! Definitely feel good getting rid of stuff and aiming for minimalism to keep it that way, but parents gave me lots of my brother's stuff after he died, gave me my sister's stuff when she moved out, and lots of their stuff when they moved. Then sister moved back in bringing enough stuff for two storage units. Got rid of enough to empty one, then everything else went into the house. Combined with lots of animals and every room being in various stages of DIY with belongings being in every room but the one they're meant to be in, it's all a bit overwhelming. Also have chronic pain and fatigue and mobility issues with another medical condition so it's slow progress. Will get there one day! 😀
Yes, having a lot of things is my downfall. I have to manage the amount to a very small amount because managing it is harder for me to do than the average person 😅
I’m sitting here watching the candle wax being scraped. I realized that it’s not “fun” for us to clean our own mess like that, because there’s inner scolding like, “I should’ve known better to put the candles near heat, I’m dumb”etc etc! We can all be SO self-shaming. We need to give ourselves the love & I understanding that we give others. The wax can be scraped up, no harm done, it can even be fun. No more self shaming. Life happens & we all make mistakes.
Yes!!! There's a great TEDtalk by KC Davis (another tiktok cleaner!) Called "how to do laundry when you're depressed" and in it she talks about how self-care tasks are morally neutral and it really hit me hard. Let me know what you think if you watch it because I think it's super relatable to your comment!
You are SO right. Inner critic is difficult to talk to sometimes to some of us. Therapy can help leverage that inner voice and talk to it, listen to it and then assuage it and slowly use it as a strength again instead of a burden😊
I found this summer that direct sunlight can melt candle wax. I was sorting out some stuff in my flat - it's pretty small, but we are lucky enough to have a garden and I left a candle and a few items outside while I was sorting out a cupboard and it was quite warm. When it came to bringing it back inside, I saw that the sunlight had melted the top. If the window is south facing it would get pretty warm in the summer. I once had one candle get misshapen because it was in the window and a can of wood stain evaporate because it was in direct sunlight.
@Aileen McCarthy Yes, use dish soap (Dawn the blue one) and scrub the tub and walls with the sponge. Let it sit for a bit. Afterwards, spray vinager in the tub, faucets, and walls. Scrub the tub again. Now you can rinse. This is very effective! The grease and the scum come right off.
I love the layout of the bathrooms where you can just use a water nozzle to help clean the floor since the shower is also there and a drain is easily accessible. I wish more places in the US were like that!
Welcome to Finland where almost everything is practically build and done. We love it. Also if you have a sauna, it is easy to clean as there is usually drain as well.
Ma sono appartamenti tutti molto simili, sono appartamenti dedicati a persone con problemi? Perché in Italia, o perlomeno nella mia città non è così...
I'm sure she would sell a lot of a tshirt that had slogans related to "trashes" with fun artwork "There are SO many trashes!" "All the trashes make me SO excited!" Difficult to explain what the shirt means but I guess that's why you would wear it, partially as a conversation piece.
I love watching this young lady. She never has a bad thing to say about the home owner. She sympathizes with the fact that some can't help it. She has inspired me to do better. I have depression. I've let my house get pretty bad. I'm now on medication. I'm learning to trash the trash, and set aside things that could be saved with not much time or trouble. I go one room at a time. I've gotten my 2 bathrooms back and next is the bedroom. It's not fun not easy, but..... I feel so much better as I get it straightened out. I'm going to try using oven cleaner to cut through one or two really bad places. It can happen to the best of us, the most organized of us. Learn it's OK to ask for help. I have 2 friends I call on and the nephew of another. I'm happy to say. They don't judge, they don't make bad comments, they just go where needed and do. I've had them come back over 2 or 3 days, until done. You are only alone if you let yourself be alone. It doesn't hurt to ask for help.
This kind of youtuber deserve a lot of support. Because she's not here on youtube just to get views and make money out of it. She's here to helping people that needed help without any payment but instead she used her own money to buy some stuff for them. She's very inspiring person.
She said that she bought new sheets etc using the money from the can/bottle recycling thing, too. ETA-I agree, Auri is the kind of TH-camr that should be appreciated, much more than vapid idiots who play pranks.
there are some youtubers i don't mind my views, subscriptions, comments, and like supporting financially. auri makes good money by being an influencer and through her sponsors. i don't care if she's making 10s of thousands of dollars a month, she gives her best effort in every home she cleans and she does it all for free. in a sense, yes she pays out of pocket for some of these things she buys for these people, but that money does still come from our active participation and engagement in her channel. it's not a bad thing, but i am not going to pretend like she's poor, you know? she's resparked my own interest in cleaning, my grandma had a home much like the ones she visits... she had rodents in her house and smoked inside her home for years. she was a bit of a hoarder and had a bunch of pets. her home was always really bad, i can relate very much to auri when she goes to these places. there's so many things you dont expect to find. so many different kinds of odors. to go in with a smile and tackle it all head on for FREE is wonderful and not something many people could do.
I cleaned my room today and I feel so much better. Nothing hidden in the closet and clothes actually folded omggg! I will admit your channel has given me so much hope. I truly thank you for all you do to help others, it really dose trickle down.
I think that it’s a good thing to show homes like this. This is what my room looked like this for a while when I was a teenager, until one day a switch flipped and I cleaned everything. It took 3 full days and I filled up 11 big trash bags. Hoarding doesn’t always look like the reality TV shows, with houses full of decades of things.
I just want to say thank you for giving me the kick I needed to sort out my own situation. Things have slid pretty much since covid and being at home all the time, I live in a tiny little flat, and whilst it wasn't on the kind of level of these places, clutter had just accumulated everywhere and it was getting me down being surrounded by it all the time. I figured if you can transform these places in a couple of days, I have no excuse. This weekend was the weekend and I have literally just finished. Everything has either been put away or thrown away if it served no purpose. As of right now, I am clutter free and squeaky clean! I feel on top of the world! Going to put up Christmas decorations tomorrow as haven't had the inclination to do that the last couple of years, or really had the space and looking forward to a proper cosy Christmas. You are amazing and inspiring even if you can't personally help us all x
This one's not as bad because you can see she's made effort to do what she could. That's why there's shopping bags with trash in it, nice clear bed, and probably why it had no odor. She might not have left food sitting, I think that's what causes the odor not just any trash.
it would be good to know how much funds these single persons have available to spend in ascertaining why bedding is not a priority for cleanliness and yes I realize depression factors in to this
I feel like when I was depressed, actually I didn't feel like I deserved nice bedding...like I knew it would become gross and so I just used the gross stuff I had. It took a long time to feel like I didn't have to 'earn' the right to spend a little money on having nice cozy things. So maybe this is the case here, or maybe not. 🤷♀️
I just wanted to say, I like that you don't judge the people living in these situations and always use positive descriptions when cleaning. It helps people living in these situations see them in a different way and maybe feel better about cleaning.
Hey auri im so glad to tell you this😊. Here in my country, in portugal a tv channel made an online notice about you telling your story about cleaning homes for free and when I saw the notice i thought to my self "ohh its her, I kbow her..." im so happy that your work is recognized by others including my country🥰🥰
Thank you for posting your videos. Sorry, this is long. I have really severe PTSD, depression, anxiety, and OCD and my home is getting extra out of control especially since this summer when I had three traumatic events happen in under two months (covid, almost dying from bad appendicitis, and a home invader). No one visited me after surgery because of the clutter so it got worse and one of my cats started getting behavioral problems. Two weeks ago, I got cleaning supplies that you recommended. It's very slow going because cleaning itself is a very bad trigger due to an event in my past, but I'm now feeling like I can stop my home from getting worse. My husband (who works 6 days/week) has done two trips to Ikea on his day off to help get better furniture so we can be more organized and is really supportive. My cats are also way happier. My favorite tip was the squeegie for the cat hair--I was shocked at how much better it worked than the expensive cat hair cleaners we had. I used it on the carpets too. I'm going to use oven cleaner on the floor for the first time because spirit gum spilled and sealed on it. (I'm very nervous about this but I feel like I can do it). I got a scrub mommy set and that paste, a scraper, and I got stick on spice organizers and have two leftover for other things, and a new smaller bathroom cabinet. I also got a container to put in the dishwasher tablets so it'd be organized and we'd know how much we have left. My home still looks absolutely terrible and I hope you maybe post some videos about organization (maybe furniture recommendations as well or container recommendations that people might not consider), but thank you for what you've already done already.
I used to struggle with organising stuff. Even though I feel the need to be always organised, I would draw a blank when I tried to start a new area. What helped was sending a photo to a friend who was naturally organised and asking for her ideas. Maybe you could find someone online, willing to be your organisation fairy? Usually she would send me photos of something she did or something online or just say 'nope, get rid of that'. I think she enjoyed the photos I sent when I got finished. Over time I got more confidence and stopped asking for advice all the time.
Hey, ikea Trones shoe cabinets come in different colours and can be repurposed to hold whatever you like. They're slimline and wall mounted, easy on the purse strings too. I think £25 for 2. I love the kallax units, get some storage boxes for them and you're good to go. Slimline storage boxes with wheels are great for underbed storage.
Every time I gripe and moan about housework, I think of Aurkatariina cheerfully tackling homes like this one. It makes me realise that I am so fortunate; I don’t have any real physcial or mental issues AT THE PRESENT TIME, and my home isn’t that dirty or untidy. Auri’s cleaning tips are extremely helpful too, and make housework less of a chore . 👍
If I am going through a particularly stressful period, I do any kind of online puzzles or quiz. Firstly it distracts me from obssessive thoughts, and secondly it gives me a high when I successfully work things out. I only choose the ones that are free or that have a one-off payment though. I also draw and paint using the Procreate app, and often check out some of the free tutorials on TH-cam.
Hi Aurikatariina. I'm writing from Canada. I want to tell you how much you have inspired me to clean more effectively. I now use Scrub Daddy and Scrub Mommy. I wish I could buy Power Paste, but it is expensive to buy it in Canada. You have also taught me how to fold the microfiber cloths to make cleaning easier. I tell everyone about your channel, even people who have their own cleaning channels. It is wonderful to see your Channel grow to 1.87 million subscribers! 😊😊
Auri, I wanted to let you know that I’m slowly getting back to cleaning again. I lost my dog in the summer and that took a huge toll on my mental health. It was sudden and she was young (5 years old). It’s been 6 months I started back up on my cleaning. Just not as often as I used to. But watching your videos still helps me. And I know it’s okay if I don’t do it today. Because there’s always tomorrow. And I know it’ll be easy because you’ve taught me a lot of things! Thank you ! ❤
Why don't you foster for a while? Then you are saving lives in memory of your dog and when you are ready, you will fall in love and foster fail. You can specialise in puppies, or old dogs, little dogs or big. Big dogs are DESPERATE for homes.
Hi auri! As a person who's struggling with mental health, words cannot express my gratitude for your good deeds. I would really love to meet you one day and help you with cleaning places. If i could ever visit finland I will do that for sure. So much love from Sri Lanka❤️
Hi Auri: I live in the USA. I have gone crazy buying all the cleaning products that you show. They are available at Wal Mart., and some in the supermarket. But really, the blades are fantastic. The paste very good., also. Amazon has a big variety. of blades Now, I don't fear the cleaning tasks so much. Oven: done! Toaster oven, done! Thank you for what you do helping others.
Cleaning used to be overwhelming for me, but since I discovered your videos I feel like I'm cleaning with a friend and my home has never looked better.
I know a lot of the people are embarrassed by the way their homes have become but I would love to see some client reactions. These transformations are amazing.
These videos are so helpful, not just to people who live like this. I had some hoarding tendencies but watching these videos motivates me to sort through my stuff and decide what needs to go so I don’t end up in a situation like this. Thank you for helping these people, and thank you for helping motivate me.
My seasonal affective disorder has started setting in early this year and finding your channel has helped get me up and do what I need to around the house. ♥️
Hits me after Christmas, usually around January! And then I'm checking the weather, and sunset times like crazy to try and give myself hope lol. Some people say those Happy lights really help. I also replaced the lightbulbs in my home with daylight bulbs. It's the closest hue to natural outdoor lighting.
Try using a infrared light. You can buy them at Lowes home improvement store and get a clamp light holder like you might use for an animal cage( we used one for snakes) it was the best for me when I lived in Oregon.
theres no better feeling than going to sleep in fresh sheets im so happy you buy them new ones, its such a small extra step that makes the world of a difference
I would never sleep on new sheets without washing first. I know that might sound strange but every time I see them being put on I swear I can smell the cloth dye smell. Also I cringe seeing a flat sheet being used. Maybe just a USA thing.
I get pleasure from crafting. However, as a person with depression, its hard work to stay organized and tidy while crafting. I watch your videos for inspiration to get cleaning and organizing. Thank you for all that you do
You also have to make sure that you don't buy too much as it adds to the clutter. It's not trash but art and craft items can take over a place if you aren't careful. I do cross stitch and I've not bought any new threads and fabric for ages and still have lots to use up.
We need pple who clean their homes on their own. Dirt . Trash . And dust have never been amazing and beautiful. Its awful n horrible. Hiw can they breath
Hello Auri, I love watching your cleaning videos. I have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). I love to clean too! But at times, it takes away from my daily life. I clean things that don't need cleaning. My daughter found your channel, and she got me hooked on your videos! I watch them to satisfy my own need to see things being cleaned. My husband didn't understand it at first, but I think now he does. Your videos help my itch to clean when I really don't need to. I also have depression and severe anxiety disorder. Having these mental health disorders is, at times, very tiresome. I love how you always encourage people in the videos. Thank you for being a graceful human being.
Auri, you have been very inspirational to me. I am very type A, my son calls me Mrs. Clean, thinks I’m OCD, I enjoy cleaning and it is so relaxing and satisfying. I used your plastic wrap method to clean my oven and I was so pleased to see the burnt stains I had to scrape last time, we’re gone this time. Thank you for all you do ❤, you have a heart of gold.
As someone with ADHD and depression I recognise the desire to get short term pleasure. You are chronically deficient in dopamine and serotonin which are the things you need to feel normal. Your brain makes life harder
So jealous of that bottle recycling! I'm in the USA and the only bottle machines I've seen have to be fed each one by hand, sometimes push it back out a few times, and then read the barcode to add it. No barcode no deposit. Takes AGES.
I think a trash can where she opens her mail or even better, a trash can to put the junk mail into before it can even get in the house would help. I noticed a tendency of that stuff to collect in my house & now I try to not let it even get inside. A big cutting board that fits across the sink would give more meal prep space.
Amen to that - You're reading my mind, lol. I see my husband coming in from going out to the mailbox every day with a pile of catalogues and junk mail, and every single day I watch him walk over to the kitchen island. Before the pile touches the island, I simply say "garbage....garbage..." and he turns around and pops it in the garbage. The frustrating part is that it happens every day that we get mail. He'll never do it on his own. I'm trying to make instruction lists for him if I die first, because he'll be living in his own filth within months of my death. The struggle is real 🤣🤣🤣
@@Kinypshun In Germany we can put a sign on our mail box which says: "No advertising" and then it is forbidden to put catalogues and junk mail into the mail box. Is such a sign a possibility for you, too?
Another wonderful video from auri ❤❤ her advocating for mental health and reminding that sometimes people just need a helping hand - it’s all so heartwarming!
You made me realize that cleaning and organizing is actually a passion of mine, I spent a good amount of time yesterday binging your videos and deep cleaning my bathroom
I can't get over how compact everything is and how it seems that there is little to no storage space!! No wonder there is so much clutter. Can't be helped in such a small space. Love that you clean with such patience and understanding!!
I imagine it is a struggle to keep it super clean, but hopefully they manage to keep it from getting severe🥺keep strong everyone whose going through something! 🥰
Вы - красотка во всех смыслах! Спасибо за помощь и заботу о людях, которые по разным причинам 'сошли с пути'! Или потеряли веру в себя и свои силы. Вы их заново вдохновляете к жизни))) Еще и настоящий психолог!
You look like sisters 😍😍😍 Thank you for the videos you produce! They really help! I was about to be in depression, but started to follow you - and I realised that I can do without therapy. It's amazing, to tell the truth. Not everything is perfect now, but I don't feel now like a miserable creature 😁 Thank you once again))
I am a binge eater who almost doubled in weight due to depression, anxiety, burn out and some trauma. As you mentioned in the video, I eat to get that instant gratification, that instant happiness, to forget I am in pain. Sometimes when I don't eat, I shop (although not as often). It's nice to know people are trying to educate other about the reasons why these things happen because we tend to feel very judged and alone. So, thank you for what you do.
Whenever I clean around the house, Auri keeps me company. And what's best of all - I stopped perceiving my mess as a terrible thing because, according to her, everything is washable and everything can be put back in order. Piece by piece, room by room. Thank you for your hard work and help.
Auri! Thank you for telling me about having more than one cloth! I was cleaning just the other day and my cloth got so dusty and gross and I rinsed it four times. Now I know how to do it right! I would like more tips like these and especially how to take care of your cleaning supplies. Like after you dirty your cloths, do you just wash them in the laundry? That's what I do. What about cleaning your scrub mommies? Do your steel daddies get rusty? You must have some great tips about storing your supplies and when it's time to throw them away?
I love how patient and loving she is about everything. We don't use these stoves here in my country, but Auri still taught me how to clean them lol She deserves a lot of love and attention for the wonderful job she does to people, showing kindness and compassion towards strangers, making them feel safe and comfortable, this is priceless, thank you, Auri!
Ive been suffering from postpartum depression and total insomnia for a year. It's not absolutely crippling, but I don't have any energy for my kid beyond the minimum and I rarely get joy from anything. I feel like an empty shell. Thankfully, I kinda like cleaning and at least I manage to maintain my home. I've been talking to a mental health professional but I don't really see a difference. Thank you for helping depressed people.
The dust layer under that bed looked like the lint trap from an electric clothes dryer! Honestly, it's kind of impressive. Happy Sunday from The States and thank you for all that you do! 🫡🤗
@@helenfitch3440 there are apparently gas ones, though I've never seen one. I was mostly being clear for non-Americans, as dryers aren't as common if you're not in The States/Canada.
We love your commitment to help all those people! Another great advice for your followers that also helped us A LOT: Every thing in the apartment has to have its own home - for example the books have the book shelf, old batteries are kept in a special box, deodorant has to have its home in the bathroom. After giving everything a home you only need to put the stuff back to its place and your apartment is always tidy. Just saw the video and I saw a light bulb and a deodorant roller in the bookshelf
The wax scraping is THE BEST! I wish recycling was that easy here in Brazil. Many times, the places are far away, or you even have to pay. As many people here are poor, they can't afford to recycle their materials. AND we don't gain money from that, unless you work for the recycling company :(
I love walking in the woods. A simple walk lifts my spirit, but walking in the woods is the best ever. I’m lucky to live in the country in the woods. It doesn’t stop depression, but it helps.
Something that makes me feel better is picking some fresh flowers (or buying them) and putting them in a vase where I can enjoy it. Even just a flower or leaves from a common weed, when picked and put in a glass, feels special.
I found you through Midwest Magic Cleaner. My mum was a hoarder. When she died we had to clean up her mess. A lot of the things were good stuff so we took 17 car trailers full to the charity shop. Some of the charity shops said no because of the sheer volume. The job took 8 days. I admire what you do, keep up the good work.
People that are alone and have no friends could try finding an organization that uses volunteers it’s a great way to meet people and also get involved in something outside of what the normal is,
I love videos like yours. I have depression as well and my house gets out of hand. Watching videos like this helped me get rid of things originally and continue to help me stay motivated to clean my home and keep up with it. I’m thankful that my home never got to a condition like the homes you clean but it was still bad. Now I have half of what I originally owned, I am still getting rid of things and keeping my home as clean as I can. You are amazing!! ❤
I understand the hoarding issue for a long time I thought I was a dirty person but it turns out I just had a lot of stuff and it was really like 5 of the same thing I had to learn to let go and stop the excessive buying but with a child you need to buy things but I've been working really hard at this journey(4years)but in the end it'll all be worth it I appreciate that I've learned I don't need harsh products to get rid of the dirt but instead mostly everything can be fixed with dish soap and water I wanna say Kiitos paljon
It's so sad that people get to this situation. You are such a wonderful person helping these people. I hope she doesn't let things go back to how it was before
auri you helped motivate me to help out a friend and clean their apartment for 4 hours :) we watched your videos and midwest magic cleaning videos while cleaning up. thank you so much
I've been needing to deep clean my fridge for a few weeks now and I always say tomorrow. Well tomorrow wasn't coming. I have been a faithful follower of your videos for quite some time. I decided to put one of your videos on and just grabbed my rubber gloves and hot soapy water. Your positivity and energy is so refreshing. It's like hanging out with an encouraging friend who truly wants the best for you. My fridge is now sparkling clean and smells amazing. Thank you for that little push I needed. I learn so much from your videos ❤
Wow, what an amazing before and after! I'm from the US and am learning a lot from your videos about cleaning, plus it's so nice to see you helping people in need. Also, you asked what brings us joy- crafting brings me joy, like cross stitching and embroidery. I find it very relaxing.
hi Auri, I am from Turin, Italy. I love your videos, I wait for them every week with joy and every time I have fun and learn new techniques! I've always been a very tidy and clean person, then I became a convinced minimalist and now that I've started following your advice my cleaning routine is short, effective and long lasting! Sometimes I talk about you to my husband and colleagues and friends, and sometimes I start sentences with "as Auri Katariina says..." heheh funny, isn't it? In short, I want to say THANK YOU and leave you a big kiss and a hug!!
I found getting posh paint by numbers kits and faux fur blankets helped me with my mood. I also write in a journal and have SMART goals. Auri is right too, exercise is a great mood lifter. And I watch these videos to help motivate me to do my cleaning. I mentioned on another video about the ex's voice in my head. It is better to replace this voice with Auri's voice saying 'beautiful' and 'I love it' when I'm cleaning!
It’s crazy to see the recycling in Finland. I live in Missouri, USA and in my town they don’t recycle at all. We used to have a bin that would get picked up like trash, but since COVID they stopped doing that. Everything now gets put in the same place. If we were “paid” to do it, so many more people would do it! Love seeing what different countries do better than us.
That's bad... But we technically don't get paid for returning bottles, we just get a little money back ;) It's been a thing my entire life so it's odd to know that it's not a thing everywhere. It really works too. I don't think anybody puts their cans or bottles in trash cans in Finland. So much less plastic would end up in the seas if people cared a bit more and this would be a thing elsewhere as well. I recycle biowaste, cardboard, paper, metal, glass etc. but nowadays also plastic since it became possible. I think I'm just doing the bare minimum but there are backwards people who just throw everything to the burnable waste.
One thing I learned from watching your videos: dish soap has multiple uses. Which made me realise that all it takes to clean my bathroom is dish soap and a few disinfect wipes 🧼 perfect for when you don’t have the energy to clean (for me it’s because I have a chronic illness that causes intense fatigue) For the mental health part: I use the “3 or more” method which is: when I have 3 or more of one item piling up (for example empty toilet paper rolls laying on the floor) I have to pick it up. I think I learned it from you, actually ❤
Greetings from NYC, USA! I love watching your videos each week. After watching each week, I am inspired to clean my home with a renewed enthusiasm. I love to clean my home each week and keep a fairly clean home by doing a clean and sanitize each weekend. I am in my early 60s and still work full time and by Friday I am tired and worn out from working in a daycare with little ones. I watch your videos to re-energize and do my weekly upkeep of my home with joy, pride and a sense of accomplishment. Thank you for all you do.
You go super woman. I admire you! You are in your early sixties and you work in a day care. I also love to clean my apartment each week myself. Watching her videos motivates me as well. She has inspired me to clean and organize my messy and cluttered closet!🤗
I love watching your videos-- I really struggle myself and seeing other people in the same situation helps me not feel like such a failure. I'm just so exhausted all the time, and the few times I've reached out to friends for help they've been busy and I feel like a burden. You give me a bit of hope here in Toronto so thank you.
I have watched a lot of Auri’s videos, but I have to admit the worse the mess is, the more trashes, the more enthralled I am with the video. Thank you for your kindness, it not only helps them but inspires me to take care of my own home ❤️ I often times find myself cleaning with you!
I’ve watched several of your videos and finally bought a scrub mommy. Now when I use it, I smile and think of you and your positive attitude towards cleaning. Maybe one of these days I’ll be as positive about my papers that are so difficult for me to keep organized.
I have struggled in the past with the shopping for pleasure. It hasn't been easy, but I have stopped unnecessary shopping. I am now in the process of purging my small hoard. I donate most things to a church thrift store. I also attend a church group of quilters. We make donation quilts for babies of mothers in need. It really helps to be doing something for others!
I'm only 32, and I had to lose all of my teeth last year. 3 pregnancies, a calcium deficiency (my teeth constantly broke), an addiction to ice, different medications my doctor prescribed me to try and fix my migraines, and not visiting the dentist enough in my adult years, no matter how much I brushed and tried to care for them, it all resulted in them just not existing anymore. It was easier to get them all removed than to have them break out one by one over years. I had one dentist, when I went to see about getting them fixed instead of removed, ask if I was a drug addict. When I said No, they said "okay, well, we can't help you if you're going to lie about it". I didn't go back. I didn't go back to any dentist for 6 years, and that contributed to them getting worse.
Yeah, I don't get the teeth comment, I think it happened in the last one too...both times its seemed petty and unnecessary to mention...glad your not in pain with dentil issues anymore 🌸
A pile of problems in your mind ...turns into a pile of problems physically...your home your health...I can totally relate.. this issue is more common than people think. Not necessarily this intense...but the same commonality.♥️🙏 Wishing u ✌️ peace in your mind and home.
Watching your videos helped me build up the energy to clean my own house. It was really getting bad due to stress from school, I get home half dead and don't want to do anything. My house is in a much better condition now.
I get my pleasure from walks in Nature! Being amongst trees and hiking across creeks and over rocks and seeing beautiful scenery is rejuvenating. I can be having a hard day and getting outside, even if it is just weeding in the garden, makes a big difference in my attitude.
I would love to see you have some merch. I would absolutely buy a “More Trashes” T-shirt. Much love and respect for what you do. Your videos are so uplifting.
Wow, this person's place is nice too, I bet she felt so much relief after this, I hope she had a nice long shower and this motivated her to try her best in recovery. Even if not this must have been a breath of fresh air, I am wishing her luck, you all are amazing!
One thing that makes me happy is…when I see Auri drop a new video! 😀 Also, when I clean and organize; it’s amazing when I solve a problem of clutter or re-purpose something in my home. My cat snuggles with me and we watch Auri’s videos. 🐈⬛🐱 I use Auri’s fold technique at home and at work . 😊💖🌸🧼🫧🧽🧹🧺
Thank you for always releasing new content! ❤ for always educating us throughout all of the videos, AND for saying trashes instead of trash. I love your channel and your personality overall is super sweet and true to who you are. Its amazing.
Ok, that wax was super satisfying to watch! How it curled as you were scraping it. For me, I love having a clean pantry/laundry room. It tends to be a catch all in our house and when you can't get in there for food and laundry and the kids toys are all over the floor, it ramps up my anxiety! So every night I try to do just a bit so it stays in somewhat of an order. Love your videos Auri!
i think it's both ironic and a little cute that the owner of this home had a plush of the pokemon minccino, which is a pokemon that likes to clean... like it feels like they wanted the motivation from a little friend :'( wonderful work as always, auri!!! you're an angel on this earth
In german the pokemon is called Picochilla :)
I've read her book, but didn't know there was a TED Talk - gonna check it out now. Highly recommend the book btw, How to Keep House While Drowning 💛
You are SO right. Inner critic is difficult to talk to sometimes to some of us. Therapy can help leverage that inner voice and talk to it, listen to it and then assuage it and slowly use it as a strength again instead of a burden😊
That’s a very good perspective ..!! Thank you..! ❤️👍🏻
I love that companys like Scrub Daddy know that our Auri is their greatest advertiser. Their sales have rocketed due to her. 👏👏👏
I love my scrub daddy. I had never heard of the scrub daddy till Auri
Yep I bought one because of her
Yup! I got one because of her!
Does the scrub daddy work good on soap scum? My soap scum is so hard to get off my porcelain tub. 😫
Did you know? If you say "I am Aurikatariina" three times in front of a mirror, Auri will appear and clean your house for free
😂😂😂
Really? I’m going to try this out. I’m back in a second…
Didn’t work 🤷🏽♀️
But hey, at least I tried 😂🤪🙈
Running to the mirror
I’m RUNNING 😂😂😂😂😂
I love the layout of the bathrooms where you can just use a water nozzle to help clean the floor since the shower is also there and a drain is easily accessible. I wish more places in the US were like that!
I thought the same thing
If I had enough money to remodel my bathroom I would 100000% make it like these bathrooms with the drain in the floor. So convenient!
Same for here in the UK, it would be so much easier.
I absolutely adore when Auri says "trashes"
My favourite is when she says “shitsuation” … Trashes is a close second.
I'm sure she would sell a lot of a tshirt that had slogans related to "trashes" with fun artwork
"There are SO many trashes!"
"All the trashes make me SO excited!"
Difficult to explain what the shirt means but I guess that's why you would wear it, partially as a conversation piece.
@@seanstreck2669 “I’m trashes.” - I’d wear it. 🥲
Love her ❤
When I use the Scrubdaddy in my bathroom, I imagine that Auri is doing the voiceover... "the dirt on this sink is AMAZING"
Wow the fact you’re on meds means you reached out to a medical professional for help. That can be scary! Proud of you. ♥️
This kind of youtuber deserve a lot of support. Because she's not here on youtube just to get views and make money out of it. She's here to helping people that needed help without any payment but instead she used her own money to buy some stuff for them. She's very inspiring person.
She will make a good living with a million followers and sponsors.
And good for her.
She said that she bought new sheets etc using the money from the can/bottle recycling thing, too. ETA-I agree, Auri is the kind of TH-camr that should be appreciated, much more than vapid idiots who play pranks.
@@shojinryoriYES This video she used the money from the bottles. But she also have some videos that she used her own money. That's what I meant..💜💜💜💜
there are some youtubers i don't mind my views, subscriptions, comments, and like supporting financially. auri makes good money by being an influencer and through her sponsors. i don't care if she's making 10s of thousands of dollars a month, she gives her best effort in every home she cleans and she does it all for free. in a sense, yes she pays out of pocket for some of these things she buys for these people, but that money does still come from our active participation and engagement in her channel. it's not a bad thing, but i am not going to pretend like she's poor, you know? she's resparked my own interest in cleaning, my grandma had a home much like the ones she visits... she had rodents in her house and smoked inside her home for years. she was a bit of a hoarder and had a bunch of pets. her home was always really bad, i can relate very much to auri when she goes to these places. there's so many things you dont expect to find. so many different kinds of odors. to go in with a smile and tackle it all head on for FREE is wonderful and not something many people could do.
it’s not only the things she buys but her giving her TIME and hard work. she’s truly amazing
I cleaned my room today and I feel so much better. Nothing hidden in the closet and clothes actually folded omggg! I will admit your channel has given me so much hope. I truly thank you for all you do to help others, it really dose trickle down.
I know that her videos inspire me to do my cleaning. Thanks to her I am working on my very messy and cluttered closet.
Well done! Enjoy your clean room ♥
That's awesome, well done you!
Moon - me, too 🕊
I think that it’s a good thing to show homes like this.
I feel proud you did that and I don’t even know you 😊
Good job, Cheska!!! I can feel you. Please hold on and have a beautiful Christmas.... Greetings from Germany 🎄🎅🇩🇪🙏
That's amazing! Greetings from sunny Spain ☀️💕😎
So, so, so proud of you! Wishing you a content and peaceful Christmas!
This is amazing! I'm happy for you that you'll get to be surrounded by Christmas cozy vibes for the whole month :)
This one's not as bad because you can see she's made effort to do what she could. That's why there's shopping bags with trash in it, nice clear bed, and probably why it had no odor. She might not have left food sitting, I think that's what causes the odor not just any trash.
❤🎉❤
Ja, man merkt jede kleine Anstrengung. 👍 das finde ich gut
Yes, no mice or flies either
it would be good to know how much funds these single persons have available to spend in ascertaining why bedding is not a priority for cleanliness and yes I realize depression factors in to this
I feel like when I was depressed, actually I didn't feel like I deserved nice bedding...like I knew it would become gross and so I just used the gross stuff I had.
Hello! Just wanted to say that I'm proud of you for taking the steps to make your space better for yourself ♥ You are doing great ♥
Hey, ikea Trones shoe cabinets come in different colours and can be repurposed to hold whatever you like. They're slimline and wall mounted, easy on the purse strings too. I think £25 for 2. I love the kallax units, get some storage boxes for them and you're good to go. Slimline storage boxes with wheels are great for underbed storage.
You may want to check the channels of Clutterbug and Dana K White. They have a lot of good tips about organizing and decluttering.
Marie Kondo’s videos on organizing changed my life!
Sometimes when I clean my home I watch your videos so it feels like I’m cleaning with a friend 😊

How much is Power Paste in Canada? In Finland it is around 9-10 euros.
Bar keepers Friend works very similar. Can you buy it there?
@@Brandi62 Yes I can buy it at Canadian Tire. Thats what I have been using. Thank you!
It sells on Amazon Canada for $25.00.
If you can get the Pink Stuff, I believe they're similar.
I'm so sorry for your loss. They are a part of the family and it's hard. It gets easier with time ❤️
Keep going, you're doing it great.
Arisenlicious, i am so sorry for your lost ❤. I lost my dog two years ago, still miss him. They are family members 💖
You can do it , I believe in you !! .
I hope you get mentally stronger .
Hello, how are you Carmen?
Cleaning used to be overwhelming for me, but since I discovered your videos I feel like I'm cleaning with a friend and my home has never looked better.
I know a lot of the people are embarrassed by the way their homes have become but I would love to see some client reactions. These transformations are amazing.
My oldest daughter is a forensic biologist (we are in US). She would definitely agree with you that "mold is beautiful"🤣! God Bless the work you do 🥰
Ooh as a forensic biologist, does that mean she works on crime cases?
That's 🤣
These videos are so helpful, not just to people who live like this. I had some hoarding tendencies but watching these videos motivates me to sort through my stuff and decide what needs to go so I don’t end up in a situation like this. Thank you for helping these people, and thank you for helping motivate me.
My seasonal affective disorder has started setting in early this year and finding your channel has helped get me up and do what I need to around the house. ♥️
I agree! You’re not alone! Keep up the good job

Saving the world cleaning one house at a time ❤️
I get pleasure from crafting.
We seriously need more people like you, im so grateful you do this. Never stop the great work!💗

We need pple who clean their homes on their own. Dirt . Trash . And dust have never been amazing and beautiful. Its awful n horrible. Hiw can they breath
Why not be like them instead? 😊
Thank you for all you do ❤, you have a heart of gold.
the compassion you have for people who need it the most is incredible. thank you for doing what you do!
Thanks for the advice!!
I have a tiny kitchen in a studio apartment and this tip at the end of your comment could help me out a lot! Thank you!

I can't get over how compact everything is and how it seems that there is little to no storage space!! No wonder there is so much clutter. Can't be helped in such a small space. Love that you clean with such patience and understanding!!
The trick is not having so much stuff. We’re 4 people (including 2 teenagers) in a tiny apartment and everything we need can be put away 👌

Thank you for the videos you produce! They really help! I was about to be in depression, but started to follow you - and I realised that I can do without therapy. It's amazing, to tell the truth. Not everything is perfect now, but I don't feel now like a miserable creature 😁

I thought the same thing! They look like cleaning twins. 😊💗💗
We don't use these stoves here in my country, but Auri still taught me how to clean them lol
She deserves a lot of love and attention for the wonderful job she does to people, showing kindness and compassion towards strangers, making them feel safe and comfortable, this is priceless, thank you, Auri!
Ive been suffering from postpartum depression and total insomnia for a year. It's not absolutely crippling, but I don't have any energy for my kid beyond the minimum and I rarely get joy from anything. I feel like an empty shell. Thank you for helping depressed people.
I really hope you will find help 😢
The dust layer under that bed looked like the lint trap from an electric clothes dryer! Honestly, it's kind of impressive. Happy Sunday from The States and thank you for all that you do! 🫡🤗

What other kind of clothes dryer can you get ??? I thought they were all electric.
@@helenfitch3440 there are apparently gas ones, though I've never seen one. I was mostly being clear for non-Americans, as dryers aren't as common if you're not in The States/Canada.
We love your commitment to help all those people!
Another great advice for your followers that also helped us A LOT:
Every thing in the apartment has to have its own home - for example the books have the book shelf, old batteries are kept in a special box, deodorant has to have its home in the bathroom.
I admire what you do, keep up the good work.
you can tell they really tried bc some parts are organized! 😢 I am so happy they got help!!❤ we all need each other!

A clean and tidy home makes me feel good. I often have happy music on while cleaning.
I hope she doesn't let things go back to how it was before
auri you helped motivate me to help out a friend and clean their apartment for 4 hours :) we watched your videos and midwest magic cleaning videos while cleaning up. thank you so much
I just bought myself a steel daddy & a scrapper. They are game changers! Thank you so much!💖🇨🇦
I've been needing to deep clean my fridge for a few weeks now and I always say tomorrow.
That recycling machine is very cool, they need these all over the world
hi Auri, I am from Turin, Italy.
Germany recycles too ^^
No one is being paid to recycle. You are simple having your bottle deposit returned when you do.
I live in Wisconsin and we recycle. We have a separate bin that is picked up twice per month. We aren't paid any money for recycling though.
One thing I learned from watching your videos: dish soap has multiple uses. Which made me realise that all it takes to clean my bathroom is dish soap and a few disinfect wipes 🧼 perfect for when you don’t have the energy to clean (for me it’s because I have a chronic illness that causes intense fatigue)
For the mental health part: I use the “3 or more” method which is: when I have 3 or more of one item piling up (for example empty toilet paper rolls laying on the floor) I have to pick it up. I think I learned it from you, actually ❤
I do my bathroom with dishsoap now and then a spray of the antibac product. It's sooo shiny
@@witchysam4273 and super quick too!
Thank you for being so unconditionally kind and non-judgmental.
Cute with you guys matching hair, earrings and so forth ❤
You are amazing. I love watching you clean but I really love your humor.
Hello, how are you Linda?
You are the cleaning queen, and your videos are my inspiration and motivation to do something.
Those Moomin sheets are EVERYTHING
I love watching your videos-- I really struggle myself and seeing other people in the same situation helps me not feel like such a failure. I'm just so exhausted all the time, and the few times I've reached out to friends for help they've been busy and I feel like a burden. You give me a bit of hope here in Toronto so thank you.
Hello there! Just wanted to say you are not a failure ♥ Be kind to yourself, because you deserve it ♥
@@LauraMalfoy2011 Thank you so much, your comment was lovely and made my day. 🙂
I love that this person loves books!! So many full bookshelves 😍
thank you to you and your friend for helping this person. I put your videos on when I need cleaning inspiration.
I have watched a lot of Auri’s videos, but I have to admit the worse the mess is, the more trashes, the more enthralled I am with the video. Thank you for your kindness, it not only helps them but inspires me to take care of my own home ❤️ I often times find myself cleaning with you!
You inspire me so much, Auri. I wanna keep doing all I can for those in need, just like you do.
Hello! Just wanted to say I'm proud of what you have accomplished and you're doing real good ♥
❤️ Good job!
love Auri, her cheerfulness, her lifestyle, her great English vocabulary.....rock star
That is really shitty to say of that dentist. They should know there are more reasons for bad teeth. We need more understanding in this world.
@@marilise1987 👏👏👏
Yeah, I don't get the teeth comment, I think it happened in the last one too...both times its seemed petty and unnecessary to mention...glad your not in pain with dentil issues anymore 🌸
@@hazardpie9650 thank you ❤️
so sorry this happened to you. that dentist should be ashamed. teeth loss happens to pregnant people occasionally; a dentist should have known that.
Scraping the wax off the windowsill was SO satisfying to watch!!
That bathroom looks so relaxing now and the whole home is very inviting, I hope she'll feel better soon❤️
She sells hoodies and t-shirts with the print "Trashes" and "I'm not afraid of the dirt" on her website.
@@Asa...S Thanks. I did not know!
Wow, this person's place is nice too, I bet she felt so much relief after this, I hope she had a nice long shower and this motivated her to try her best in recovery. Even if not this must have been a breath of fresh air, I am wishing her luck, you all are amazing!
Thank you again Auri for all you can do for these people.. you're a Christmas gift, for all the year.
It might be a good idea to vacuum the mattress and bed base after removing those old sheets. There'll be loads of dead skin on there.
A job well done! I hope Maya can start a new chapter in her life, and find joy and happiness 🧡🧡🧡
Your perfect cleaners due to you don't judgtch a horda of stuff.
Your kind,funny an caring.
One thing that makes me happy is…when I see Auri drop a new video! 😀
Also, when I clean and organize; it’s amazing when I solve a problem of clutter or re-purpose something in my home.
My cat snuggles with me and we watch Auri’s videos. 🐈⬛🐱
I use Auri’s fold technique at home and at work . 😊💖🌸🧼🫧🧽🧹🧺
Your kindness. The world needs this so much! ❤
