Finlay is such a fantastic heel. When I want to see great wrestling comedy, I seek out old Les Kellett matches. When I want to see outstanding heel work, I seek out old Fit Finlay matches. I wish I were British and living in England when all this superb wrestling was taking place.
Collins and Finlay had some great matches in the late 80s. I saw Danny beat Finlay at Falmouth's Princess Pavilion in 1989. They wrestled there again, for Finlay's title that summer and Finlay won on that occasion.
i watched this match nearly 20 years ago. danny was still growing but both his physique and performnce show he would become one of the most exciting most popular wrestlers. vintage finlay. danny sells the relentless punishment beautifully. quintessential classic storyline.
these were the days, they used to show the wrestling every saturday afternoon after the footbal results. You'd sit with Mum and Dad. this is when there was only 1 t.v in the house and three chanels UK used to be a good place to live in those days
Nice mismatch. Danny takes a good beating through most of the match -- and suffers nicely for us. That brutal traps claw after 7:40 leaves the kid writhing in pain, with his pecs wide open and vulnerable.
When I trained to be a wrestler, a young punk refused to sell for me because I was fairly short. He said, "I won't sell for a Fit Finlay. Actually, I took it as a compliment. I was nowhere in Finlay's class although I wish that I was. 😁
like many british pro wrestlers, danny collines debuted at age 16. he went on to develop more than an impressive physique. finlay was even then, before his going to wwe, a consummate heel. collins' trapezius muscles were a frequent target.

How tough was Danny Boy Collins. The punishment he took here was unbelievable. But what a wrestler Dave Finlay was!
You are so right I m😢

The more I see of this bout the more I like it
I can remember seeing this match on tv at the time.
Had no idea Finlay was wrestling back in 86 I really only watched his WCW and WWE matches.
The fact that he drop his head and let him enjoy the pain is too intimidating 9:56

Finlay a great wrestler.
Yep, he took some handling. His only real equal at the time was Marty Jones.
The first ever wrestling match i saw was Fit Finlay vs Danny Collins on a Mick Mcmanus world of wrestling VHS tape.
My God that is a small ring . Looks like a 14 × 14
4:01 u dont see whips like that anymore!!!!
I adored Finlay finishing off Collins
Haha. Me too. But Danny was a great wrestler too.

Was Fit,really married to Paula,? In his shoots he never, ever talks about her I have my doubts.??
I believe he was at one stage but I think Paula has been dead for some time now, RIP
