This brings back memories of when I was a kid watching with my Farther on a Saturday afternoon at 4 pm followed by the pools and the Dr who haha haha My they always be remembered R.I.P.
My Mam and Dad went to watch the Wrestling at King's Hall Belle Vue Manchester . One of the bouts was Alan Dennison. During the bout, Mr Dennison winked at my Mam. She told my Dad, he's just winked at me, and my Dad. Who was really protective.,and a little bit jealous af anything like this said to her " what do you want me to do about it" . Just a little bit of fun. Mr Alan Dennison was an absolute gentleman.
Saw both of these guys live back in the day. Dennison was one of my big favourites and it was such a shame when he died so early. As for the Dynamite Kid. This how I remember him when he wrested in the UK. Who knows what went into his body when he went to the states, whatever it was its wrecked his body
A very sporting gesture by Alan Dennison. He knew this lad showed promise and did what any decent human being would have done. Love and Respect from Steve xXx
Up until this point Dennison was a villain known for using his wristbands as weapons (as Kent Walton mentions) and tag teaming as The Dennisons with Cyanide Syd Cooper. This match was Dennison's turn to blue-eye (babyface) and it led to him mentoring Davey Boy in his feud with Jim Breaks and ultimately Dennison's own feud with Breaks and him winning the British Welterweight title in the early 80s.
I'm surprised by how good this looks being from 1976. Sadly, there is very little footage that exists from Pro Wrestling in the United States in the 70's. Many of the territories would wipe and record over their tapes. It was common practice. It's a shame because so much great history was lost. I would give my left arm to see all the tv tapings from Mid-Atlantic wrestling from the mid to late 1970's!
I remember when Alan Dennison was a heel, and hurt his neck fighting Kung Fu. Only to have a manipulation of his neck by Kung Fu, to sort the neck problem out and therefore was never a heel again. Just saying. I saw this on Saturday afternoon wrestling.. Anyone else remember?
The same. Steve's brother/Alex's uncle Bernie Wright was another great wrestler. All three are now living in Germany and running a succesful wrestling school over there.
Here's a playlist of both Steve and Bernie Wright's matches. Sadly none of the early 70s Steve in his frisky prime, just him as "German" heel Bull Blitzer circa 1986 and then wrestling *in* Germany against Fit Finlay in 1990. th-cam.com/play/PL3DE6269ECA08542C.html
The wonderful voice of Kent Walton. Forever associated with Saturday afternoons in the 1970s before the footie results.
The great Alan Dennison who sadly passed away as early as 1984.
Tommy Billington ended up with WWF on steroids and died in 2018.
Two great wrestlers.

Golden era "Doctor Who" with Tom Baker. Still the best.
Hard to believe that both wrestlers are no longer with us 🌹

Dennison a Yorkshireman and a true gentleman too always great to see him and hear him too.
Excellent match, thanks for the upload. Even early on you could see the Dynamite Kid was destined for greatness
Remember watching on tv then getting ready to go and watch it live in town... Used to love it
The beginning of the dynamite kid awesome.

This was a way of getting the Kid over and turning Dennison face at the same time.
This right here is incredible
I’ve never heard The Kid called “Tommy Darren”. Everyone knows his real name was Tommy Billington.
A decade later & the Dynamite Kid would be a co-holder of the WWF (WWE) Tag Team Championship with Davey Boy Smith.
Good Englsh wrestling I love it dont like American wrestling been a fan since a young boy I am now 66years old they were the good old days.
Talk about putting someone over. Great stuff.
RIP Dynamite Kid

Stick to TH-cam, there are quite a few wrestling downloaderss out there. Check out ArthurPsycho.
What exactly happened to his throat at the end? I've seen the Snake Eyes maneuver before and this didn't look like it as far as how he landed
Snuka 420 the commentator is the voice of World Of Sport wrestling is Kent Walton
The sequence around 7:40 is not possible unless they're working together.
This must of been the turning point point for Alan from dirty wrestler to clean. Both wrestlers taken far to soon.

Sad seeing DK go from this to where he ended up. In a wheelchair and a bitter old man.
He had every right to be aggrieved at Davey and Diana over the way they behaved.
I don't think he was that old when he died, only 60, I think, no age at all
Who is the commentator?
Kent Walton
Kent Walton is the commentator
The FAMOUSLY FAMOUS Kent Walton - how can anyone not know that? 😳
Amazing competition ! I hope the young lad went to the hospital to get his neck looked at after the old bastard nearly snapped his neck on the ropes.
RIP Dynamite Kid
