Thanks for the vote of confidence Drew! But Matt may just break with tradition and go with the Turquoise sedan? It really makes me glad to see what Matt has done with that beautiful shop. @@drewdaskievige754
Thanks guys for transporting the 38 for the foundation. What ever you bought will be great because they have nothing that isn't. Thanks for the video, hope to see you at Gilmore's next weekend
Nice car! I've got pictures of my Dad's 1938 Ford coupe from the 1940's that he did minor customizing on and hot rodded. Before he died in his 90's I took him to a car show to see a black 1938 coupe and he was so glad to see one like he had. Before WW2 he hot rodded Model A's. Lefty
Love the 38 Standards. There was a discussion on Fordbarn the other day about early and late cars where it was offered up that early production had painted windshield frames and no stainless strips on the grill. I like the way the rear fenders jut out from the slope of the rear deck too where the 39 is more integral ( but I love the look of the 39 Dlx cpe).
I live in the midwest, and every year, I look forward to all the road trips taking me to some small town early in the morning to settle in for a good dirty, on the ground auction. There hasn't been very many live auctions this year. At least I have this channel to allow me some road time every week or so
Is that the Gilmore? Your first trip to the Gilmore inspired me to plan a 1260 round trip to the Gilmore Museum. I’m leaving Omaha Sept 2, with the Lil Red teardrop.
I do love the front end treatment on the 38 Standard. But I'm pretty partial to my 39 Standard coupe. Just got it back in February and couldn't be happier.
I figure the car you went home with is the '32 Coupe. The '37 is a dream! Lowered tastefully and skirted would be awesome. I like how the owner used period bullet housings for the rear directional lamps.
No idea what you bought, but you will have fun with it! And, while I agree that some rare cars need to go into museums as all original, the person who owns the car gets to make the decisions!
Nice video! Glad to hear that museums are out there to keep old vehicles out there in the public eye and not just warehoused. Maybe the car that you will bring home will be the little turquoise colored one. It seems like your prefer black and "patina" ones, why not go a little wild and go for the fun little turquoise one, she is really cute, but not overly flashy!
Beg to differ- 38 was the year Henry shut down production because it sold so poorly. Least desirable model in my book. FYI- I have two 40 Ford standards.
I'm going to guess a late 30s/ early 40s Ford that was donated, but is a little too rough for the museum. Needs someone with good welding/metal fabrication skills...
To the gentleman and his wife who was kind enough to donate the vehicle to the museum - well done!
Love that it's going to a Museum that is actually going to drive it and show it.
‘40’s are my favorite too! Love those Chevron lights.
Great video as always - I'm going with the "32 three window.
I'd agree since Matt always talks about the 32's.

New website is awesome! 👏

Cool stuff thanks Matt
My all time favorite museum... could spend days and days there. Well done Matt & Mike for helping out!
32 Three Window. Looks like an early hot rod. Right up your alley.
Yep, the 32 three window coupe gets my vote for the same reason you described.

Probably because many people disliked the 38 DeLuxe and bought Standards instead, so Ford decided to dress the Standards up a little.

39 ford 2 dor is my favorite

Fun trip.. Nice when everything actually works.
My first car was a '38 Standard Coupe. I was for sure the coolest 15 year old in 1973 in my hometown, for a minute anyway.
No idea what you bought, but you will have fun with it!

I am guessing what you take home is a 32 for the hotrodder in you ... or the blue 38 Standard four door because it is just a supernice original car?
got to be the 3 window coupe ,hands down

did you finally find your zephyr?
you guys are returning with the 'black, dressed flattie, 32 3w, - I would be....
thinkin flathead powerd 3 window though you leaned on the 4dr deluxe pretty heavy
The 38 is so pretty!
I believe that you will bring home a '32 3 window !
Very KOOL Museum
Are you bringing a '32 Coupe home?
Do they drain all the gasoline out of the cars for long term storage?
Yes. They keep a gallon or less in the tank.
Did I detect a slight delay viewing the 32 ?
Awesome work on your behalf, I reckon it's that torques sedan your bringing home?
I'm betting you go home with the Deuce coupe😎👍
Good job guys 👏
FUN! Is the PA turnpike still at 55 miles per hour?
Obviously it’s the black 32 coupe with the speed equipment
I think you picked 32 3window
I think the 38 would have a much smoother look with the fog lights removed. What think you ?
Yes but this is a museum, keeping them there might be the right thing to do.
👍👍👍👍
Better check under that car after Mats had it. It might be missing some springs and mufflers.
I go with the torques sedan one
IMO, american, and to a lesser extent European, automobile design reached it's zenith in the mid-thirties and remained there until the late 40's
Not fair, too many years. This should have been multiple choice.
Yea right , I tried to clean that bug of my screen !🤣
This museum needed to be located in a complex like the Gilmore museum complex in Michigan. Would get far more attendance than where it currently is.
You would NEVER come home with a turquoise 4-door, but you would love to get your greasy fingers on a 32 3-window.
Nice Video.

32 fords were also a failure if you judge it by sales figures.. doesn’t mean they aren’t beautiful or desirable!
I have no idea which car your'e bringing home. I know I would take just about anything they would let me have.

I know, I know!!......😂😂😂

That seems a bit strange that people donate their cars to the museum, but then they can sell them off when they like.?
I'm going to guess a late 30s/ early 40s Ford that was donated, but is a little too rough for the museum. Needs someone with good welding/metal fabrication skills...
A 32
Another 3 or 5 window early 30s Ford
And, in my opinion, the '39 Standard front end styling was far better than the '39 De Luxe.
We all know which car you picked- the roughest one.
Interesting concept.
32 😂
He could of donated it to me
A 32 ford
Don't know what year or model. Probably the one that is um ratty ,& needs a lot of work.
Hmmm. Interesting.
