Thank you for this info. After a lot of research I asked my Rheum about trying GLP-1 a few months ago and he said “no”, so I ordered it online myself and have been using it with success. When I go see him in a few weeks I’ll let him know this and ask him if he’s now willing to prescribe it. If he says he still says “no” I’m walking out and not going back to him.
I don't know about that. I've been on Monjaro for 2 years, lost 130lbs. I felt wonderful until my rotator cuffs ligaments all got torn off, I weigh 150lbs, but my right shoulder is useless. My skin is completely covered with ulcers,I don't know why, dermatologist can't understand why. What do you say about that?
Mounjaro caused your rotator cuff ligaments to get torn off? That's a new side-effect that didn't show up in the trials, so it's a contra-indication, yes?
Wondering wether these drugs used long term ( approx a year ) could also cause nerve issues like aggression , temper , irritability, frustration, loud , short fused , chaotic & abusive etc … ??! 🤔 TIA 🙌
End of the day it all boils down to inflammation. If medication isn’t altering your normal pathways then the next best thing is diet. Processed and refined carbs are what essentially cause inflammation in the body, which then send a cascade of signals through the body that deteriorate it from the inside out. In order to optimize the diet many ppl have to navigate their mental health, because their relationship with food is in such disarray. You should be working on whatever you can as holistically as possible, all combined if possible. Diet, mental health, lowering inflammation, perhaps medication.
You make a great point! It's so true that inflammation plays a huge role in our overall health, and a holistic approach to diet and mental well-being can really make a difference.
@@rheumatologistoncall Wow !! I'm 63, now. I've been sick most of my life.(1st grade on) SLE, RA, Graves, Fibromyalgia, brittle bones, vitamins D and B6 etc. Don't stay in my body. Nor does the Syntroid for my thyroids. I have health issues so bad that I was accidentally over dosed with the radiation pill by 15 diffrent 😢doses. Now all the specialist are near speechless when they get the records and see I am telling them the honest turth. They literally state to me that an oncologist and my Endroconolgist have given me that many (15) doses of the radiation pill for tests. The last intake or uptake of that radiation pill was given to me in March 2012. My question: Do you treat ppl with SLE, RA, and Graves disease. Can your appts. be done as an online app. Etc? I'm asking only because I live in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
I will talk to my rheumatologist at next appt. DMARDS did nit work, i had anaphylaxis response to biologics and methotrexate just made me lose my hair without helping. My C reactive protein levels are higher than ever and i am always in pain. Even a short term use of a medication that would help is worth looking into for me
It's great to hear that you're exploring options with your rheumatologist. Finding the right treatment can be a journey, but it's important to keep advocating for your health.
@rheumatologistoncall thank you for your video posts, they are informative and helpful. I am incredibly grateful that after years I finally have a great rheumatologist to work with
I love your message and delivery, but I'm surprised and disappointed by the inserted graphics and videos showing such derogatory images of people who are overweight. Especially the man struggling so helplessly to exercise, then the woman sitting on the floor with her bare belly rolls on view for all to judge. Do better please we don't need shame we need compassionate Healthcare. As a person, who has both an auto-immune condition, (recently diagnosed with Sjogren, and/or possibly Lupus) and Ehlers-Danlos Hypermobility, in recent years I have seriously struggled with my weight. Not by some fault or lack of trying to control it because all of my life I was extremely fit and active, but due to inability to exercise because of autonomic dysfunction, pain, fatigue, and other symptoms that have severely impacted my ability to move. Then you couple that with the fact that I was not taken seriously by the medical professionals who are supposed to care for me, I've had to fight tooth and nail to get to these diagnoses. Even now I'm under-treated and under-medicated. I am stuck living on the fringes of society, not able to contribute in any meaningful way in my own life both professionally and personally. And now all the Doctors see is an obese woman not able to care for herself and they blame me and my poor health on the fact that I'm considered medically "obese!" But cannot see that I became obese because I'm too sick to do anything. My only pleasures in life are food and art. I have tried Ozempic for 6 months and it was helpful for weight loss (40 lbs) but has very serious drawbacks that made me discontinue its use. I already struggle with gastroparesis and constipation. But this became unbearable when we tried to go from the starting dose to the therapeutic dose. We tried adding meds to get things moving but they had other more serious complications. So I stopped, and even though I tried to curb my eating and cravings, the weight came back in a few months. I love that you seem to be taking a holistic view of your patients' health with your program but please be kind about their weight gain. We know we are overweight and are coming for help, not judgment. These are very exciting developments and hopefully they will lead insurers to cover the expense of these off-label uses of Ozempic. As it is in Canada it is not covered unless you have diabetes.
Thank you for sharing your story and your thoughts. It’s important to highlight the complexities of health issues and how they affect people differently. Compassionate healthcare is definitely what we need more of!
I have OA all over my body. My right hand is getting progressively worse. I also have TED. It would be great if one day they would find a way to stop the progression of any arthritis! Keep up the great work Dr. Girnita!
Thank you Doctor! There may be something different on the market that could change my Life. I have both RA and osteoarthritis and this could help both.

The same results can be achieved with a keto diet.

It's always important to discuss any concerns about long-term side effects of medications with your healthcare provider.
Of course there are side effects. This magic pill is just making big pharma richer and more powerful as well as the doctors who push it!

My heart medicine is helping to curb my appetite. Very happy this. When my teeth were ruined from Sjogrens that negatively affected my diet.
I have OA all over my body. My right hand is getting progressively worse. I also have TED. It would be great if one day they would find a way to stop the progression of any arthritis! Keep up the great work Dr. Girnita!
Best of luck!

Wonderful!
Too late for me.😢
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It's a journey for everyone, and I appreciate your perspective on this topic.
How much did the pharmaceutical companies pay you for promoting bad drugs?
This is not a promotional video!
