Time for a sunbro song! This is a reflective anthem of fellowship, inspired by Solaire, the most loyal knight of them all. The Warriors of Sunlight are a bastion of friendship in the bleak world of Dark Souls, and I was inspired by the jolly co-operation and uplifting aid that they bring to the game. This song is less about the death and destruction of old lands, but instead about the ability to overcome impossible odds and fight to the very end with the help of friends. For this track, I reached out to my patrons and Discord server members to help me out with backing vocals! There are over 70 people singing with me on the chorus, joining in on the anthem much like they did for "Dystopian Fiction." A big shout out to my amazing fans for lending me their voice and praising the sun together!
    Lyrics:
We're chasing ashes in the wind
When the end of fire begins
Just look to the sun and soon you'll find your aid
Don't fear the demons in the dark
We have a journey to embark
You're never alone, even when light will fade
    We are the heroes
    Never defeated
    March to the ending
    History repeated
    Together as equals
    At heart we're the same
    Live in the present
    and signal your name
    Shine like a beacon
    The light we are after
    Here in the fallout
    Bound in disaster
    We're burdened with purpose
    So here we remain
    We're incandescent
    A glorious flame
    Overcome by this vivid dream
When the odds aren't what they seem
You've got a friend to watch your back and guide the way
Mistakes that set you back too far
I've set a sign just where you are
I've struggled as well, but I won't let you die today
Don't rush through the night's fog
    Join these shining watchdogs
To chase your fear away when you're alone
    Spite the rolling thunder
    Tear these streets asunder
Toward a shining sun to call your own
    Savor every moment
    Here comes our atonement
When hell's own flames arise, we fight as one
    Step forth now, ascended
    Grossly incandescent
You're part of something more, a warming sun
Spent years waiting for the time
I'd come to see the truth behind
The darkness that we face in our own lives
    Cast aside your fear
    We're strong in numbers
Holding back a fate of endless slumber
I want to stay to keep you strong
Side by side is where we belong

I had a friend, Chris, whom loved Solaire and even roleplayed as him. He passed some time ago, and this truly makes me remember all the times he and I shared. Chris, wherever you are, I hope you have happiness and are as grossly incandescent as your spirit. Shine on, jolly fellow.

This falls into the category of "Music that isn't about Jesus, but if you're a teenager with really controlling conservative parents you could probably convince them it

I know I'm late to the party, but Miyazaki confirmed that Solaire linked the First Flame at some point between DS 1 and DS 3.

“I’ll be there to keep you strong. Side by side is where we belong.” This is the be best part of this whole song. Describes the Sun Bro mentality perfectly.

Solaire through his story desperately looks for his own sun, going through all of Lordran, from the undead parish, to anor londo, and even the depths of lost izalith. All the time wondering where his own sun would be. But never did he realise that in reality, he was his own sun. Of all the individuals, all the undead, he shone the brightest. Not only was he in reality his own sun, but the sun for hundreds, thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people in the entire Dark Souls community. I hope eventually you can see where your sun is, Sun Bro. PRAISE THE SUN

I only became a Dark Souls fan last year (A friend of mine, who is a diehard fan, hoisted Dark Souls Remastered upon me when it came out, and I grew to love it), and was inevitably introduced to the music scene of the fandom, as well (By the same friend). This song in particular really resonated with me, and, when I got married this year, me and my wife had our first dance at the reception to Incandescent. I suggested it simply as a placeholder, since I loved the message of 'Standing together to face the unknown, even when all hope is lost'. She's grown to love the track, too, and is glad we went with it. So thanks, Aviators! And thanks, Solaire, for being the inspiration behind this song!

Even now, years after finding it for the first time, I have no shame in admitting this song brings me to tears. Shine on, Warriors of Sunlight. Always and forever.

He may not have been the Firstborn, but he was the true heir to the Sun.

Dark Souls' story is based on interpretation. We look at the scraps of info from items, dialogue and the environment, and then put those scraps into a picture we think is right. This is true for the characters as well. Solaire is no different. He was a friendly and somewhat goofy man who stood out amongst the gloom of Lordran. He cheered us up and helped us out whenever he could. At first he held his head high, but over time Lordran wore even him out. He faltered and, if it wasn't for us, he would have fallen. Indeed, we never get to see if he made anything of himself. In the grand scheme of things, Solaire was just another soul losing himself in the darkness of Lordran. We talked to him a few times, he helps us a few times, and we helped him in return. And that was it; that was all Solaire's story was.

For how bleak the setting of Dark Souls is, for how many fallen heroes and primordial monsters there are in the world, one fact stands out like a sore thumb, one fact, bright as the morning sun.

Solaire was truly an amazing character in dark souls, in a world full of despair, sadness and pain he was the one person who refused to let that crush his spirit, he kept marching on in hopes of finding his very own sun...
