I have both a coral beauty and a flame angel in my mixed reef. I prioritize my fish health and happiness over my corals. Even though I have some expensive corals in my 700L Reef Peninsula.
Jake's Soloman island videos are basically what got me into the hobby, they cynarina on the thumbnail of that video I believe was the first coral that I truly appreciated the beauty of
Nice! Should be a great build, looking forward to see what you put in there. S. elegans, millepora, loripes and of course, nothing better than a purple monster to make it complete. Cheers!
Looking forward to see this, i have a Golden angel is one of my more shy fish, but is the smallish of 6 angelfish in a 7 feet tank. Still see it a lot. Thanks Dave
Why are the most beautiful fish so shy! lol. I really want a Marine Betta for the Red Sea but same thing...they typically just hide. Maybe I'll get a more outgoing one 🤞 Thanks for watching! ~Remy
In a Solomon Islands reef, I certainly include a small group of good, old fashioned Blue Damselfish (Pomacentrus pavo), a school of some sort of Chromis, a Singapore Goby with a Pistol Shrimp, and a pair of Saddleback Clowns in a Radianthus crispa anemone. Looking forward to how this aquarium will look in a few months!
It's awesome that you have it filled with live rock from the Solomon islands! Can't wait to see what you add to your tank. Have you done an AquaBiomics test?
Can’t wait to see this build. That Golden angel is beautiful. Idk where the Tamarin wrasse come from but would love to see one in this thank. The red or yellow tail is so beautiful
I think it would be hard to go wrong with a good old Acropora tortuosa. If I remember correctly, Jakes own Immortal tort was harvested from there. But, there's a good chance many of the hobbies other torts were as well. The Solomon's where one of the main collection points for tortuosa across the hobby. There's a solid chance the Bennet Tort, the Cali Tort, the Oregon Tort and the Seattle Tort all came from there.
I'll definitely look into it. He went with Tim Kelley who is located down there. Gonna check with him and see if some of the corals at the studio were harvested there. Good idea! ~Remy
Hey Remy, A couple of flowy sift corals with maybe 1 or 2 sps frags to grow out into colonies!!! Little fisg that hide amongst the sps and rock work. Keep up the great content, following from Australia 🇦🇺
Miss Australia, I still can't believe I got to visit! Hope to return soon. 100% on the little fish for sure. It's only a 60g (227L) so it's not huge. Thanks for watching! ~Remy
For what it's worth it will be changing a touch. I agree it's a bit chaotic. However, like I said in the video I just dropped it in that day and left it. Appreciate the watch! ~Remy
Now that is some ROCK! Love seeing this tank rolling finally, let us know how we can help on some Solomon origin corals and fish!
-Blaine
Great Video Remy!
That is an awesome tank. Lights look amazing. Rock looks one of a kind. Cant wait to see where you go with this. Thanks for sharing! 🔥🙌👏👌💯
Super awesome video. Love the idea of a tilefish challenge!

They were an inspiration for sure! That series was unreal. Maybe someday I'll get to visit. ~Remy
Sounds great! I’m looking forward to seeing how the Solomon Island build develops, Remy!
Thanks for coming along! ~Remy
Just subscribed, thanks for the help at the legasea

Love all those suggestions! I'm excited to see how it all comes together! ~Remy
Looks good. The 'thrown' in aquascape looks surprisingly good 😉 Looking forward to the next phase!
I may still clean it up a bit. Realized I said I was gonna scape it and still haven't because you're right! Branch rock adds so much dynamic. ~Remy
Fantastic rock. The best. 👍
I'm over the moon. Expensive, but worth it! ~Remy

This will be a super fun build!
Let's do this! ~Remy

Thank you for the suggestions! I'm excited too! ~Remy
Get on it Raj, we saw your sump now we need to see the tank.
LOL!!! ~Remy
That live rock from the ocean makes all the difference. Just the look itself is so much better than man made branch rock.
Right?! I'll probably tidy it up a bit but crazy that it looks good without any rhyme or reason. lol. ~Remy
Just gotta say miss your video dude. Looking forward to the build. Also we Need an update on uno and dose.
For sure! I need to sneak them into a video. That Chicago Sunburst split into 3. ~Remy

Not yet, have that in the works though. So far, it's the only bacteria source so we should get a fairly accurate reading. ~Remy
Solomon Islands=purple monster. 🔥
Yep! Was at Vibrant while they were unpacking an order and saw SO MUCH. Gonna get the tank rockin first but it's on the list. ~Remy
Yellow Fiji leather, blue surf turf stag, purple haze monti and a blue ridge coral. Let them take over and do their thing
Love all those suggestions! ~Remy

Hoping to have some fun with this build! I think some species are Australian and might be seen in that area. Tamarin's are beautiful! ~Remy

@ReefBuildersVideo next time you're in Australia, if you're ever over Perth way I'll buy you a beer or 2, you guys are legends!!! Cheers Remy
I approve 😁👌🏼
Island Approved! 🌴
There’s a golden angel on live aquaria right now 😉
get some Ostorhichus cardinalfishes! Extremely underrated and fun to keep
The all in one aquarium is good for a lps dominante reef im planning to buy an icecap 60.
You'll have to let us know how that tank does for you! ~Remy
@@ReefBuildersVideo sorry it was a question.Im between sump or AIO , what is better in your opinion.
Without a doubt if you don't choose a bonded pair of Solomon islands true percula Clownfish you're missing out.
I'm on board with that. Long tentacle nem? ~Remy
@@ReefBuildersVideo Heteractis magnifica
Just soft coral then it doesn’t matter if the angels pick at the corals.
Had that thought. You saw from the video, some really neat softies to choose from. ~Remy
@@ReefBuildersVideo I’ve got a softy tank with large angels and that works really well.
Corals and angel fish can’t be beat.
I like your videos but sorry to say that but the aquascape is just uggly and not functional..
For what it's worth it will be changing a touch. I agree it's a bit chaotic. However, like I said in the video I just dropped it in that day and left it. Appreciate the watch! ~Remy
The skimmer is trash unfortunately.. i have it
I'll give it a whirl and let everyone know thoughts in part 2 or 3. Guessing the next part will be a small initial stocking. ~Remy
I say anthias
