  • Injuries such as concussions, bone brakes, and ligament tears are extremely common in the NFL. But one thing that many people don't think about is the potential of mangled fingers and hands that wide receivers, offensive linemen, defensive linemen and linebackers can suffer by playing in the league. Throughout their football careers, NFL players' fingers can be broken, and dislocated. They just continue playing and don't get it fixed. Some fingers never recover and can be crooked for the rest of the players lives. Players featured in this video are Odell Beckham Jr, Booger McFarland, Marcellus Wiley, Michael Strahan, Randy Gradishar, Chuck Bednarik, David Diehl, Brian Baldinger, Anthony Munoz, Calvin Johnson, Torry Holt, Julian Edelman, and Plaxico Burress confused looking at hands. They all have finger and hand disfiguration. Zach Miller leg break, Robert Griffin III (RG3) ACL tear, and James Harrison hit that caused Mohamed Massaquoi concussion that changed the helmet hit rule in the NFL. Clips from the Dan Patrick Show and the Pat McAfee Show used.

I saw terry crews talking about breaking a finger during practice they just snapped it and told him to shake it off. He explained that he felt like a piece of meat and retired.

How in the heck can you make a video about NFL fingers without mentioning the single most mythical finger of all time and space, or lack there of? Ronnie Lott literally cut his finger off because it was so mangled and he was told he couldn't play with it all busted up. he cut it off so he could get back in the game.

@@Krazyloko I vaguely remember it because you are one of the few people who told the actual story and didnt continue the myth of the locker room surgery and playing with a bloody stump. I actually want to give you props for telling the real version in your other video and not the halftime surgery in the locker room myth. Ive heard some doozies living in the bay area and being a 49er season ticket holder since i was 13. I cant even count the number of times some drunk idiot felt the need to tell me how Ronnie got his finger cut off at halftime and had 10 tackles in the second half with a bloody rag around his finger. He is one of my 2 favorite players, and I have worn a 42 or 8 jersey to every home game since I was 13, except games when I was on Iraq in the Army (I did wear it in Iraq too though 😆) *side note: the last game before I left for Iraq was his number being retired by the 49ers at halftime against the Steelers* I have met him multiple times and he has told the real story about getting it cut off later and how they lost the game and he regrets it. He cut it off to be ready for the next season and played the playoff game in a cast. He didn't get it cut off in the locker room or during a game, s you know andni think you saod in your other video, if memory serves. I guess my comment could have been worded better. I meant that he got it cut off to get back to the game faster and not miss time the following season. When he told the story to me he reiterated about 5 times it was one of the biggest regrets in his career and he actively speaks out against players doing harsh or rash actions to play hurt. He said every time he sees it in a mirror or catches a glimpse at it that it reminds him to be patient and never make rushed decisions again. He said it used to make him angry because he disfigured himself for essentially nothing. He said playing the second half of the playoff game instead of sitting, he reinjured it worse and did far more damage. If he would have just said nope and not played he probably could have kept the finger and only missed the preseason workouts. That second half is what did the damage to make the healing time longer where he would have missed half the next season, so basically because he was so driven and competitive he backed himself into a corner where he made the amputation the only option to not miss any games. So long story long, my bad for not being more clear with my original statement and I give you a ton of credit for telling the truth in the other video instead of just spouting off the myth that 99% of football fans think is the truth 😆
