I’m not married but still carry the shame of this sin. Living waters has a good approach to this, it’s called N.O.P.E. And it stands for “not one peek ever.” And it’s been helping a lot of people shed this sin. God bless.

Though I would agree that it's probably in the best practice to not peek...I feel it goes beyond that. If you look on a woman and lust, you've sinned. This is from the heart. You can avoid porn but what happens when you see an attractive woman wearing something revealing at the local walmart? We can't wear blindfolds through life. Staying in the word, praying and walking with God will keep you from temptations, despite what your eyes may see. God bless you all and stay strong. Love you all!

Well, hope not everyone here did that. That’s one expensive laptop or desktop 😆, but I was part of the ‘Fires Of Hell” pornography counselling group who eventually at the end were told to destroy their iPhones and laptops and people posted their destroyed iPhones and laptops and thought that was over the top. Something else worked for me and was able to end porn and I was able to keep my iPhone and laptop intact lol.

What I have learned from porn addiction, maybe this can help someone else:
It is a trap, it does not matter how pretty she looks you will eventually end up disillusioned, disgusted and feeling guilty. Trust me, I know.
Samson thought that he could play this game and that is exactly where he ended.
    1. Flee sexual immorality, don't try to fight it. You will lose the fight every time.
    2. Cut the snakes head off. Close all the ways that porn can enter or find it's way back to you.
    3. Guard your mind, refuse to entertain any lusfull thought. You can't prevent a bird from flying over your head. But you can stop it from trying to make a nest in you hair. Don't look a second time if you see a girl in a skimpy outfit. Like in the knder garden song..."Be careful little eye what you see."
    4. Look at people in the Bible who had an issue with sexual sin and learn from them.
    5. Confess your sin when you fall. There is a difference between conviction and condemnation. I am thinking about Peter and Judas. Peter repented after he denied Jesus, Judas felt condemnation and hung himself.
    6. Try to get to the root of the issue, in my case it was rebellion against God because of my circumstances. Once I confessed that, I could start focussing on the addiction.
    7. Tell someone you can trust and ask for help. The Bible says we should confess our sins to one another. .
    Some sobering thoughts about porn:
When you look at porn, it is not just a pretty face, it is someone's daughter, what if she was your daughter?
If you are in a relationship with a woman, understand that this could mean the end of your relationship. If you are not in a relationship, remember this will impact all future relationships.
Porn feeds human trafficking, drug use, abortion, abuse and greed. Ultimately it is rebellion against God.
Not causing others to stumble and fall. You will have to give an account to God some day.

Praise God that He softened my heart for the breaking...and rebuilding it again ...slowly, as He had planned for me...that I might not remain broken in shame. Pornography is not merely a sin which requires an apology...it requires a broken heart before The Lord.

I used to like explicit love scenes in movies and be disappointed when they weren't more graphic or drawn out. Now, I have to look away if a couple kisses more than a peck, feeling grossed-out to be witness to something so intimate. Quitting TV was key. It's amazing that, over time, we can become re-sensitized. Unfortunately, I did see a SHOCKING pornography scene in a gif someone posted on Twitter about 5 years ago. I stared it it for a long time, imagining it, and sometimes it still replays in my mind, even during church or praying. *You can't unsee stuff.* It grieves me there's no backspace button.

    • @LilacDaisy2
      @LilacDaisy2 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

@Eric EH Sure is. Check out channel Little Light Sudios for showing how superhero movies portray Jesus as the bad guy and Satan as the hero/s. Those characters even state Bible quotes from Jesus/Satan. The bad guy in Avengers says, "I will build my church, and the gates of hell..." and his whole motive mirrors God's, in a warped way.
Hollywood is far more evil than the evil on the surface.

    • @LilacDaisy2
      @LilacDaisy2 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@Eric EH How blatant is that? The virgin birth blew me away, especially. When I saw that movie with young Anikin, I thought it was bad writing, because nothing ever came from that super specific detail. I thought it was a breaking of "Chekhov's gun" rule. Rather, it was a greatly important detail, to tell us the villain is Jesus.
Thanos is the latest blatant one.
And Christians flock to these movies. What a laugh we give Satan.

God grace empowers us to resist sin and glorify Christ in our mind and body so we may prove we are His disciples.

It is certainly easy to bypass that setting but I found that even if I was weak enough to type the website in it would pop up and say not allowed and it’d give me a quick reality check. This is an issue near to my heart. I think the internet added a level of complexity. The age statistics of when porn is first encountered is along developmental lines with boys puberty. Particularly I note my age 33, when I was middle school age and on into high school the internet was first taking off and the porn industry was already there. My concern is the millennial generation took a hard hit from this because our parents didn't know the internet and what was 'lurking' out in the web.

Now, I have struggled with a sin of this nature for years (not exactly pornography). I've got so sick and tired of it. I've prayed to God with tears to help me with it. And this video puts it very clear: kill it, do whatever it takes to avoid it. Ok, I'll do just that.
    Thank you brother Justin.

I honestly don't think that someone addicted to porn could go without it just by being promised 50 million dollars...
Just as an alcoholic or a gambler couldn't do that by being promised a lot of money.

I agree with you. I believe true addiction means you have a psychological or even a physiological dependence on what you are addicted to and need professional help getting off it as a general rule. However, I think the point he is trying to make is that a lot of people who say they are addicted to porn aren't in reality but rather don't really want to do what it takes to stop once and for all.

I like how blunt the scriptures are when it comes to sexual sins. A lot of times, those entrusted to give the correct and biblical advice about this, tend to be all soft and "understanding". The result is that, those doing the sin also "understand" that the person who gave the advice, also "understands" and there goes endless sin.

Thank you so much, Mr. Justin! I agree with your perspective I may just want to add that some may be interested in the scientific studies about porn and how it re-wires our brain reward system which set this a behavioral disorder... Some good resources/coaches were covenant eyes, Dr. Trish Leigh(secular), Dr. Gary WIlson(secular), and online communities like YBOP.com(secular resource). They talk about coping skills, pointing out triggers, journaling, possible childhood trauma, and so on.

That’s my one complaint with so many faithful Pastors of God’s Word. When it comes to pornography, they don’t realize that it’s doing this. They don’t realize the physiological hook it has in people’s brains. It’s not as simple as “just stop looking” or threatening “you don’t love Jesus” to get someone to stop. It’s frustrating that secular sources are actually helping where faithful ministers are punting on this.

Thanks for this video Justin. I wonder if you ever struggled with this? Did you have a past before Christ deep in sexual sin? Maybe if you can’t answer these questions in the affirmative you wont be best able to speak on the issue. I realize that all your biblical advice is correct; but only the ones with this background will know the struggle. Therefore to say to those of us failing in this way “just repent” or “get out of the situation” (ok no sleep i guess) can seem like empty words. I say this with tears.

My father was committed to pornography, much to everyone's hurt and dismay! I felt that I suffered sexual abuse through the exposure to this evil. Fortunately, not physical abuse, but the abuse is still imprinted on my soul.
I chose at an early age to renounce the exposure and influence of pornography. Also, I committed my spirit, soul, and body to my Lord Jesus Christ. I do so daily. My fiance appreciates that I made this commitment.
Sadly, my parents suffered premature death because of my father's addiction. 😢 this tragedy built trauma in my soul (PTSD) that 💔 continues to need healing.

It is something I think men have a big issue with and some woman in these times. I remember being exposed to it when I was around fourteen. I'm 24 now. What you say regarding not wanting to be rid of it is a hard truth, but it is truth non the less. I have been saved, but I know this is something God wants me to be rid of and anyone else struggling with it too. Thank you for your video. Please pray for the people dealing with this sin. Pornography is something that has been made so pervasive in modern society and no body really wants to address how negative of an influence it is and those that don't see it as negative aren't helpful.

Hello Justin! Thank you so much for this video and for your ministry. It is obvious to me that you deeply care about those to whom you are speaking and I admire your willingness to speak on this difficult/sensitive topic. I trusted in Jesus Christ as my Saviour when I was 16 (I am 21 now). I am fully and unequivocally convinced that my only hope under Heaven for salvation is to trust in the finished work of Christ on the cross for my salvation. It's only by faith and no works can be added to the Gospel. However, as the Apostle Paul says in Ephesians 2:10 (and James as well), faith will invetably bear fruit and lead to good works. This is part of our sanctification. However, our assurance doesn't rest on how much God has changed our lives, but on the finished work of Christ on the cross. In other words, I fully believe what the Bible says about salvation. With that said, the life I lived before trusting in Christ at age 16 was loaded with pornography. Unfortunetaly, this sin just continued on and on in my Christian life after being saved at 16. It's only until I downloaded an accountability filter on my computer (covenant eyes) that I was able to stop watching pornography. However, to be perfectly honest, this feels more like behaviour modification, because I still often get immoral thoughts flooding my mind, which leads to other behaviours that aren't moral. Here is the hard part though: Every time I look at a youtube video from a Christian speaking on this topic (like i'll be honest channel), I am constantly being told that I am not saved because this sin is to frequent in my life. This has caused me to doubt my salvation for so long to the point of depression. I have trusted in Christ (with repentance) as my Lord and Saviour, what else can I possibly do to be saved? Should I throw away that assurance that I have and disregard all the other good fruit in my life as a Christian, simply because of this one area of sin? I understand that your point (with regards to examining oneself) is to get people who simply profess faith in Christ (like many unbelievers do) to come to a saving knowledge of the truth so that they may experience true victory in this area of purity. I appreciate you doing this video. I desire nothing more than to be pure and kill this sin. Please pray for me as I have so many goals and desires to serve the Lord. I just feel like it gets so hard at times. God bless you and your family!

I appreciate you sharing about this issue. As someone who has struggled with pornography for most of my Christian life this is a very personal matter for me.
I would like to talk to you more about this because I believe there are biblical principles that must be taught that I know men (and women) need to understand.
You don't know me but I've been a Christian for 31 years, overcoming a deep addiction to pornography that lasted about 25 years, which did carryover into my marriage. But by God's grace and much help I'm free from it and have helped other men to do the same. Please allow me the chance to share my story with you and what it took for me to overcome. It can be a big help to the men (and the pastors) that are in serious need of hope for themselves. Thanks.

Practical advice applies too. If you're an alcoholic, don't go to bars. If you struggle with porn, get content controls on all your devices. Be active in removing temptations before they arrive. Have escape routes. We all have our triggers and we have to avoid them.

To the men and women out there who are struggling, please let me share how the Lord has helped me and sustained me in this area. First, I asked Him to grant me repentance, and He did. I then started to develop spiritual discipline by reading Scripture and praying daily. As time went on, God began to pull me away from those triggers that would lead to sinful, lustful things. His Word is truly powerful to cleanse our way and thoughts. But we have to mortify our sin, we must humble ourselves and call out this sin as such. Don't kid yourself. Don’t compromise by saying ‘I can watch those sensual scenes on that series on Netflix and nothing is going to happen.’ Be sure your sin will find you out. Keep seeking the Lord in humility, hunger for His Word and He will deliver you. God bless you all!

People often need support and maybe counseling as well. There is often something driving sexual sin like childhood trauma or something shameful or painful. Justin Peters isn't wrong in what he says, there's just more to this for some people. I don't think he's had the experience of these kinds of issues driving an addiction or he's never had a serious addiction before. The reasons I've mentioned and more is why the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous exists. For most people recovering from addiction, there's more to it than just stop it, remove yourself from it, and read your Bible.

@@christianuniversalist why they wouldn’t want to have sex with their husbands is the real question.
Scripture says that couples should not deny each other for long and come together often to resist the temptation to wander into an affair.
If it’s a psychological issue for the woman then she should seek counseling to address her concerns and work through it.
If it’s medical then she should see her Dr.
If it’s something that her husband did (like he was unfaithful) then more counseling.

Speaking for myself though...I remember a verse in corinthians where Paul told the people of corinth that "It is better for someone to marry than burn with passion." My assumption is, though I might be wrong, he was suggesting that when you are married you have a better chance to stay sexually pure unlike when you burn and you are single. Because not everyone is gifted with this self control like Paul was. And Jesus said Himself too that the gift to stay single for the rest of their lives and pure is not for everyone. So for those who are married, they have a better chance to fight sexual sin.

We need to stop talking about pornography as being a "man's" issue. When we do this, we're unwittingly allowing countless thousands of women to commit this sin while flying under the radar. Females have strong sexual urges too. I'm a woman who was first exposed to porn at age seven, and I'm not talking magazines. I'm talking about full blown sex acts on video.
