Hey you and BC should come to my home town some day and try the trails here they are pretty fun but you probably wouldnt lukr thr uphill and flat parts im not a big fan of them either but let me know if you would like to check them out
So glad you figured the electrolyte thing out eventually. That and carbs is what keeps your main CPU aka. your brain running quick! What happened on stage 4 is when it's running slow. You process information slower, your reaction time goes up and silly mistakes happen. You need to fuel up frequently, especially on a race.
Wicked Video!! Thanks for inspiring me. Been working on it for a while but I just finished building a mini enduro track in the valley by my house! Wiped out twice already but still love it! I ride a rocky mountain switch so not quite the best enduro bike!! :) :)
The bike held up well, and seemed to perform great. I don't think it's right to blame Evolve. If you're talking about the seat and dropper, that's nothing to do with Evolve. Those are OEM parts bolted onto the bike, and that would have happened with any other bike frame manufacturer. If you're talking about the headset...when you tweak the bars like that, and everything spins, it's very common for it to loosen the headset a little as the preload loses tension. No clue what happened with the seat, but he likely sheared one of the retaining bolts, and that led to the issue. It's not much different than if he had gotten a flat tire, and blaming Evolve. Those aren't Evolve parts.

There is nothing worse than some plugger coming into the shop with cracked parts and stripped bolts crying about how their saddle, stem, seatpost, crank or headset is garbage when the problem is them over torquing bolts. 21:25: "Full send during a race is the wrong attitude to have." 29:42: "SENDINGGGG IT!" 😂😂😂 Your perseverance during this race is inspiring, and I think you've got a real shot at the TH-cam race, but don't sleep on Josh! If you're looking for endurance, hit a spin class. Sounds weird, but it's so true. I grind out 15-20 miles of pavement a day all summer long, and last fall a friend invited me to her spin class and I got absolutely owned by the entire class. Spin class is now part of my training regimen.
Mad props. You were beating yourself up on the 4th stage but by stage 5 you were composed and cool and collected. A nice reminder that we're all human and susceptible to emotions and mistake.
Maaaan, these trails are soooo beautiful! I would love to ride them so much, but not to race them :D These are pretty long stages, well done Jordan! Little problems like yours with the stem are so annoying but it was nice to see that you really enjoyed riding stage 5 even you knew you're not going to get a much better time :) Like the editing with the mix of raw sound and some additional chilled tunes :)
*jordan boostmaster is the second best mountain biker youtuber that i know after skills with phill but my #1 most favorite youtuber to watch on youtube*
I loved how you and Eric built this up prior to the event. Sad you had to handlebar issue, making the official times all but irrelevant. It was a lot of fun seeing both of your perspectives on my local trails:) I'm looking forward to seeing the Whistler enduro with all the other youtubers!!
Dang props to you fro somehow managing to get your chain back on without stopping in stage 3. That was sick. Also sick video good job on your race. I also liked how you kept a good outlook on the race even though you messed up in stage 4 pretty badly. It reminds me to keep pushing past the tough spots.
Love your videos. I use to ride an be crazy, sadly I got hella health issues. I appreciate vicariously being able to ride through your videos. Your a dope rider!
I have started mountain biking to lose weight and really push myself to do things like this I know this is a old vid but you are really inspiring me to keep pushing and have fun.
you are making videos that make feel like im there and i felt how dumb it was on stage four but you gave me such a good feeling when you were on stage 5 and i thank you :) (i also hate climbing uphills with my bike)
Smooth is fast & fast is smooth. Racing takes a lot of practice and I think you did your best and thats all that matters. I won the ABA SoCal BMX state championship I. 92 even after slipping a peddle In my 1st moto.
This is a nice change in content, although your epic jumps, trails and bike building under your narration is the best mtb content on youtube. On par with Seth's videos. Thanks for sharing!
Love ur vids, can’t wait to get back to Cali riding, ever since my bike was stolen 2 years ago, I finally saved money from my job and ima get my enduro bike next week
Good work! I got 37:57m - crashed hard on my 3rd stage which put me slow for the rest of it! It's not as easy as it looks and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Hope you enjoyed my beer token! ;-)
I just want to say Jordan that your lines are excellent and even at the start of Stage 4 when the headset came loose and you were upset, the emotional intelligence was commendable. I appreciate the effort put into this video. Oh and my headset came loose on the start of my third ride 28 miles into a new bike, I was surprised but it happens and it is an easy fix.....just not when you are racing and being timed..
awesome video Jordan! I just picked up some new knee-shin pads for my next trip to Whistler, they’re made by G-Form, can’t wait to try them out, the pads I rented from Arbutus Routes last time I was there was too confusing for me and I knew I’d need to have knee-shin pads since I had double leg surgery and I want to be as protected as I can be, hope to see you at Whistler.
Great job Jordan. I plan on doing my first enduro here this year and im close to 30 also.... 33... but im with you on the climbs. I hate them which is why they are the most important for me to work on. Now im super surprised on how many skinnys and log rides this enduro had. Maybe they all have them and i just dont notice. But you did awesome man.
Coming from S. Florida, where the biggest hill around is a local decommissioned landfill converted to a bike trail (no lie!), this looks just too fun to be true!
I’m not into the bike stuff, but I am into how amazing your videos look. Really inspiring I only have a hero 5 but I’m still amazed at the picture quality. Hero 7 for me when the 8 comes out
Haha the seat issue was unexpected 😂 yew send it brother! Really interesting to see both your and bcpov perspectives over all this stuff and leading up to the big one! 🤘
good job man! biggest thing is you left in one piece i did my first enduro last year and had a pretty similar experience i was also the last to start in my class too lol.
There's not much worse than getting tired and losing focus while mountain biking! All the bad effects just snowball on each other! Good you came back in stage 5
Litterely the same thing happend to me on my first enduro race i was so focust on going fast and sending it that i was riding to fast and kept chrashing, over cooking berms and over all being slover then my normal run ,you learn a lot from amateur racing
Thanks for uploading this and talking about your experiences! I have really enjoyed watching the video. The track looks really awesome and pretty tough to be honest. Could it be that both of us have kinda the same problem :) > shifting too late on ascents😁 You have my subscription for sure.
God I related to the stage 4 gong show so hard tho LOL.... Loved hearing about the progression of your attitude throughout - and congrats on slaying in stage 5 and getting solid finish with lots of learnings ;)
dude. am doing my first enduro later this year and am pretty worried that am gonna have the same issue and send it too hard and make some sloppy mistakes but i guess you only get better with practice and can't just be instantly amazing haha
Good job Jordan on your first race , it is too bad you crashed and had the two mechanical issues ( chain and seat) I think you might have beat Eric. If you get better at peddling you are going to do real well. NSMBA has there fiver races on the North Shore you might want to look at for practice. Good luck on the EWS100 dude. Look forward to seeing most of my favourite TH-camrs doing that race. Thanks for another great video.
I hope you enjoy this long video! Make sure you guys also check out BCpov's video here!: th-cam.com/video/JJuqrTYzZj8/w-d-xo.html

Will we ever see you use the gopro map and speed thingy when going downhill in Whistler ?
@@Benet3000 ya probably, I will try to use it a bit more
@Jordan Boostmaster great that would be really cool to see like the speed you can get on like A-line

Sick riding and well done on your first Enduro race man! I’m glad I’ll have a walking pal in Whistler 😂🤢🤮
haha thanks!
My boss gets so pissed when you post. Time for a break. Research to do. Very important.
haha :)
23:57 - Man, the last guy pushing up to stage 5 (me) looks so grumpy lol. Nice riding =)
Looks like you had fun tho =)
This deserves a like before I even watch the video
You where really fast in my opinion! So sad about stage 4😢
but I know you have the skill to win the TH-camr Enduro race!
thanks!
Check channel owlaps for race enduro
You were cooking the dh on 5...

Yeah never trust a bike shop to do shit up. Gotta go over and super-torque that stuff if yr getting bumpy.

Yeah, this is why I like to be my own mechanic: I want to make sure everything is bolted down properly.
I love how you keep a positive mindset because if that ever happened to me I would’ve just gave up and not tried so that really inspired me
Don't sweat it. At this intensity your cardio is going to improve immensely.
