I’ve done this in the U.K. at BPW (except it was 8 ribs with the puncture, the lung bruise, a clavicle and I have no recollection before I woke up). That noise we make due to trying to breathe is deeply disturbing for those with us and watching now as I recall my event last year (my daughter was following…). I'm currently recovering from a concussion, uugghh!! I'll for sure be dialing back my riding alongside you. Glad you're feeling good enough to edit. Take it easy this summer bro.
My friend exprienced something like this - he hit tree root in the side with his right arm - broken colar bone - which went folded one half under the other and it damaged major artery - almost bled out internally. Now he has MANY metal parts and no longer riding bikes. Lucky to be alive. Take care and be well and mostly -have a good insurance.
Wishing you all the best on a super fast recovery! You're basically the home of where I came to discover more about the Norco VPS as I have two of them now; VPS Shore 3 and the Atomik. That moment was brutal, but at least now you can attest that you survived a brutal rib cage/ lung shot and lived to see it through all in the love of the sport. Sending all the good vibes your way. (fist bump).
I separated a rib and broke another one in a car accident, along with bruising on my lung. I was reading up on separated rib injuries looking for people to considerate with. I read it’s a lot or people either stepped on by horses or mountain bikers going chest first into a tree. So I’m feeling a lot of sympathy pain watching this. I’m glad you’re ok!
To name a trail "Ho Chi Min" is quite unfortunate, knowing thousands of vietnamise died at the real trail. Get well soon. Makes me question the risk of riding solo.
I horse ride (one of the most dangerous sports) and I was terrified watching you! I have to say the fall did remind me of hitting the ground in a poorly maintained school (it felt like hitting concrete) and getting really winded, so I kinda feel your pain! If only a little! Get well soon!
I'm really happy to see you getting away from a hit like that with "relatively minor" injuries (compared to what could happen hitting a stump at that speed😰). Keep up that confidence when you get back on the bike! I wish you quick and complete healing. You are a legend!
Not on a mountain bike but I took a similar spill two days after this upload and broke my wrist. Glad that you're still kicking and hope you recover well
I know that pain. Back in October I took the wrong line. I though I was hitting a 15ft gap but it was a 40ft gap. I hit the back of the lander & bent my right side of the bars, broke 3 ribs on the right & was winded for about a minute. I could still feel the bruising 6 months afterwards. Rest up Jordan!

Yeah did the same only thing is I broke 8 ribs punctured a lung and had collapsed, I had smash a hole in my rip cage which they call a flail chest ripped off my bicep and tricep tendons off the bone alone with a grade five ac full separation, plus a 30mm tear in my rotator cuff, got air lifted out and went into emergency surgery to have 6 steel plates on my some of the ribs so I could breathe, one rib under my scapula they couldn't get to and one 1 inch off my spine also couldn't plate, I had also crushed all the nerves over the the left side which left me in a whole world of pain for around 9 months 15 months of the bike and three surgerys to put me back together on this one, finally got back riding for about 10 months then broke my back, T1 in three places and T3 in one place
Man I had just one rib fracture time ago and it caused me incredibile pain for almost 6 weeks, I can imagine how it feels to broke 5 of them, and I suffer for you. Wish you a good recovery.
Sending well wishes! Hope the recovery is swift and the therapy efficient! Watching that was very difficult and I can't even begin to fathom how scared everyone must've been, not to mention yourself. I'll be waiting when you're ready to get back on the bike!
And on the up side nobody lost their house to pay for the medical care. I've broken ribs before, though not as badly. Twice from cycling, once from just tripping on rough ground going down a hill, and boy did I feel like an idiot that time. I don't envy you the recovery. Each time I ended up sleeping in an arm chair for a month because I couldn't lie down comfortably.
Ya been there myself sadly , except I had a broken femur also at the time and that hurt so bad I couldn’t feel the 8 broken ribs . Just couldn’t breath , in the hospital the leg took second place to the pain of the breathing exercises you have to do . For weeks every breath is excruciating. Good luck bro stay strong it will heal and get better .

Six years ago, I took a bad fall and broke my back in four places. I am lucky to still be walking. My friend works at a ski resort, and he call the park the trauma park. I know you love to ride, please be careful and wear as much protective gear as possible. I road for decades but that one day ended my riding. You were given a hall pass, please remember that. I know what it’s like to be out of riding for a long time from an injury. This must be the year of hitting trees, because I nailed one three weeks before I came to Whistler and now I can’t ride, even though I took the trip anyway. It sucks watching these bright sunny days pass by wanting nothing more than to be out there on the trails. I feel your pain!

I managed to get on the chair with you early in the day, it was such an awesome day but it was awful to hear about the crash later. Hope you heal up soon and can ride all the fresh stuff before its too bombed out!! Awesome vid, thx for sharing finally :)
I'm currently recovering from a concussion, uugghh!! I'll for sure be dialing back my riding alongside you. Glad you're feeling good enough to edit. Take it easy this summer bro.
Glad you're ok. love the new DJI camera
Good Recovery! 🤜🤛 from Belgium
YIKES! What an impact. As bad as that was that was very close to being way worse... Glad to hear you're on the mend!
Seriously hard hit! I guess you're lucky it wasn't worse! Wow.. well, I'm glad you're healing up.
Sick vid bro, bummed I couldn't be there. Chose Europe this year!
I broke my collarbone while mountain biking on August 2. I had surgery today to straighten the bone. but luckily my fall wasn't as bad as yours
i think i like the dji more then the gopro, but it might be because of the colour grading
that sound you made after the hit, eerie. Glad it wasn't worse and I hope you bounce back quick man.
Under 1hour gang
👇🏻
im under 3min
You were absolutely shredding!! So glad you're ok. Heal up brother!!
Man that was rough, it's always the flowy trails that get you the hardest. My worst crash was on a run like that. Wish you a speedy recovery dude 🤘🤘
Obviously your comment didn't warrant a heart like everyone else's did He probably just wanted to be the centre of attention. Don't like big headed people or people who think they are the only one to have an accident
@@lizvickers7156 I’m giving the benefit of doubt as he probably has lots of comments on all his videos and he hasn’t seen my comment. I find Jordan to be a good person and don’t get any vibes that say he thinks he is better than everyone. My mum told me that is you can’t say anything good then don’t say anything.
First day in bike park can go wrong really fast, it's always good to start it easy and build confidence. Hope you get well soon
Wow!!! This was crazy. So, happy you’re having a successful recovery. Please stay safe!!
as a skier and snowboarder that "eughhh" is so feelable. You feel your muscles reel and you almost tense for a second, before slumping and feel blood rush. looked TOUGH, u a soldier.
Wishing you a speedy recovery! From my hospital bed after over rotating a jump and fracturing my pelvis! Happens to all of us at some point if you want to push your riding!
All the best!
Your videos let me experience this awesome trails safely from the couch that I would never see or do otherwise. Thank you and most importantly have a smooth recovery.
Get well soon Jordan, glad you're recovering! Shout out from Pisgah!
Jesus dude that was a scary crazy crash. I am so glad that you are alright and I hope for a speedy recovery.
Wow! I was not expecting that. Such a perfect day of riding to finish like that.. Sorry to see that. I enjoyed the video! Nice riding and trails buddy. Speedy recovery!!
man I am so happy you already feel better... like you said, really hard to watch. Matt is such a funny guy ! Do you have any idea when you will be back on the bike? Take your time ! I wish you only the best, quick recovery and health. Just don't do what I did 30 years ago... after a crash, got so afraid that I stopped riding for 30 years, only regret I have... now I am 50 and so happy I am back on the bike, going to Whistler from Montreal for the first time, I hope I'll be able to see some of you guys and ride a bit with you even if I only have 1/100 of your talent :) My son watch all Mahalo my dude, BCPOV, yours, Dangerous Dave, Dale and a few others religiously so I hope we'll be able to make some selfies :) Cheers and have a great recovery!
Bro, you got my biggest Respect. You are riding clean af. I makes me so happy to See all the people who take care and only want the best for you. But still dont give up the Fun they have like your Buddy who Filmes everthing After the Crash. Stay strong! Hope we will See you on a mtb soon
Bro, I’m glad you’re ok. You made some BIG features look small, right up until you didn’t (which is how it goes, I guess). I’m also laid up this spring for an undisclosed amount of time & can’t ride (already had to cancel a BC expedition), so I get that part of it. Best wishes for a continued speedy recovery.
Take care
You know it's a bad crash when you have trouble breathing just watching 🫣
Hope you get well and back to riding soon ❤
It’s always ‘one last run’. I dislocated my knee skiing at whistler on one of those. I’m so glad you’re okay!
A great reminder that often times when we are feeling our best, just like that, accidents can happen. Another killer video, heal up brother! ❤
I've been dreading this video a bit, but I'm glad it means you're able to chip away at some work so, good to see you healing up a bit. Here's to a speedy recovery!
The trees. Make me fell like he gonna hit one lol 7:05
I like my one comment
I know what it’s like to be out of riding for a long time from an injury. This must be the year of hitting trees, because I nailed one three weeks before I came to Whistler and now I can’t ride, even though I took the trip anyway. It sucks watching these bright sunny days pass by wanting nothing more than to be out there on the trails. I feel your pain!
Glad you’re OK! Hell of an impact! Can’t wait till you’re back on the bike and making vids! Get well soon!
Wow! Hope for a smooth recovery and hope you can get some laps in before the end of the season. I always enjoy your videos.
Yeah, I can verify how hard it is to speak with a collapsed lung. That crash was brutal, flashbacks to my broken back 3 years ago. Glad you’re on the mend and (relatively) ok!
Bro the DJI is so much better
Also are you riding their tubeless insert? I’ve been curious about how the Tannus tubeless insert??
Holy crap dude that is gnarly I’m glad that you’re still here to tell the story! Heal up quick!
yes the tubeless one in the front, i like it
As a father of a man your age it makes me wonder what your dad thought when he saw this? Every time one of my kids is hurting I feel it too! The footage does not show what happened but man that was a brutal fall. I’ve knocked the wind out of myself that bad and ya it’s a wild feeling Neil you get that first breath back in!
Glad you are ok, you took that well. Absolutely SENT that jump to flat
One hell of a fall. Took it like a champ too! Good luck with the healing stage. Stoke from South Africa
