Great hunt and video. I think Lynn should have a equal role in the show. The way you two play off each other and kid around makes it doubly enjoyable. I know I will be here in my chair in front of my computer for each episode. Thanks, that was fun.
Yea I agree I love it when she can come out and hunt with me but work gets in the way of her joining on more trips. We do as many as we can together! Thanks for the input and glad your enjoying the show!
Congrats on the nice elk and successful trip together. Don’t be down on yourself Lynn it happens to us all and you will redeem yourself and will be a great day when you do! Thanks for sharing
Freaking love your guy's video's, not just the kill shots but the comradery with everyone at Alpine Carnivore. An for the haters they obviously haven't followed you guy's from the beginning like some of us, you are all about ethical harvests. For someone to suggest that you let the animal suffer just so the 1st person that shot the animal can "claim" it was there kill 😤 is ridiculous an not what Alpine Carnivore is about. I wish people could just scroll on instead of adding ignorant comments but apparently their lives are way to shitty an they can't help themselves. Keep doing what you guy's are doing which i know you will an all of you that are part of the A.C. team are absolute beasts an absolute 1st class 👊👍. Always look forward to seeing your video's an i re-watch them regularly lol. P.S. to Mitch, never stop the little cooking segments out in the field cause they are my absolute favorite part of your video's. Good luck this season to the whole team 👍.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned doing this my friend is haters are gonna hate and that’s all there is to it. We will keep on keeping on and making stuff for people like you who actually appreciate what we do so thanks for the nice comment much appreciated!
Awesome hunt! Curious if you went to the range after this hunt to see if the scope maybe got bumped? Misses do happen though. Your videography has improved a lot in the last year!
Hey Austin glad your enjoying the show man. Been working hard on getting the format editing and audio improved every video glad your seeing the improvement man! As for the rifle no we packed it away and will be doing some shooting this spring once it warms up lol.
I loved being in the mountains but now I got 6 plates of metal a bone graph an 36 pins an screws holding my foot on an then are house burnt down so have to rebuild my gear so I live through your videos
@@AlpineCarnivore Judging by the elevations you stated you were at, and where treeline was in the video (very high), I'd comfortably venture that this trip wasn't anywhere in Canada. Elevations of 11,000+ ft will put you on, or well above, many summits in the Canadian Rockies. And treeline in southern Canadian ranges will be anywhere from 6000 to 8000+ ft. So I'm going to guess either the Wind River Range in Wyoming, or somewhere in Colorado.
She's so cute. You goober. You shouldn't have taken the rifle. Hunting is hardworking. It's such an accomplishment to get your first. I've been taking my buddy the last 4 years.. and also with tag soup. Shooting 5 plus rounds and not hitting anything.. to hitting a big deer last year and losing it.. This year was his first kill.. first cow elk. He shot it at 465 and hit the leg.. wanted me to shoot.. said nope. We hiked and found her around the mtn and he got her at 165. Happiest adrenaline filled hour of his life.
In my opinion there’s 2 ways to look at it this is not the first time Lynn hunted she’s killed a lot of shit. This would be her first elk, not her first animal. I don’t believe in letting animals suffer more than they have to ever. So as nice as it would be for Lynn to kill it I’m not about to let a potentially wounded animal run out of range. that doesn’t sit well with me, or with her. That’s why she asked me to take the rifle, as it was to far of a shot for her to take.
@@AlpineCarnivore dude. Thank you for the reply! I really appreciate it! There is more than 2 ways to look at it but that could be an entire podcast conversation
@@AlpineCarnivore No but it is on my bucket list. It seems like 900 deer on that small island according to my google research. And it is open all year around without bug limit. Also it is just 1,5 hour boat ride from Vancouver. Just by Swartz Bay.
Good job, even better job getting your wife involved into hunting, we need more female role models. And for Lynn, it happens, even after several decades of hunting. I suspect Lynn will get a giant in the very near future.
That was the correct call to commandeer the rifle. If she had hit it, and it wasn’t a kill shot, then you’d be tracking a wounded elk, and you may have not got it.
You “leaded” him because he was moving pretty good? He had barely taken a step. You almost missed, so don’t pretend that shot was intentional. Sorry, you should always be honest with your viewers, it show’s integrity. Maybe that’s the reason why she missed, the rifle was off 2 feet to the left. When she asked, where should I shoot him, he’s quartering to me and you said, “behind the front shoulder” she even questioned you. Always aim for the exit. Behind the front shoulder was bad advice on a quartering towards animal. Slightly in front of the shoulder would have been a higher percentage, more ethical shot placement.
Lol a real couch troll, people like you make me me laugh. It’s a shame you feel so insecure with yourself you feel the need to try and pick apart something others do to make yourself feel better Sean. It’s a hunting SHOW man relax…..quit reading so much into it. The entire thing is edited in case you don’t get that…. You should unsubscribe from this channel your not wanted here….
So your saying you would let a potentially wounded bull run down a mountain when it’s now way past your wife’s comfortable shooting rangeand just let her keep firing off rounds at it for target practice? Seems like a pretty shitty thing to do guy….. Don’t forget all that footage is edited, she asked me to take the rifle because it was to far for her. And if your wife would divorce you over shooting an elk you’ve got much bigger problems in life….
@@AlpineCarnivore I'm saying I'd let my wife shoot or daughter for that matter but, the whole video she was supposed to be the hunter?! Hopefully you both had tags.
If you paid any attention the entire hunt we talk about killing 2 bulls. no shit we had 2 tags. And to reiterate again the bull ran out past where she was comfortable shooting. it would be irresponsible for me to let her keep shooting at it. As we said in the video we’re here for the meat, the person who actually killed the bull is irrelevant and if you don’t get that then I have nothing left to say to you.
@Alpine Carnivore, 😂. I like your style, you don’t sugar coat your replies. I can’t stand when folks comment negatively to a fellow hunter and act like their way is the only way. Stay honest and tell it how it is. 👍
Equal quality if not better than meat eater man, keep it up!!! Love these 😁😄
Cheers man glad you think so we appreciate the love!
his narration reminds me alot of Steven Rinella
Hey everyone thanks for showing up to the premier much appreciated its really col to see such a big turnout I hope you guys enjoy the show :)

Beautiful bull! Thanks for sharing the info about bulls having lighter coloured fur. I will definitely pay more attention to those details now.
Hey man glad you could pick up a tip it really helps at a distance especially with sun ☀️
Kudos to Lynn for getting out there and getting after it! What a rush to see all those elk feeding in closer!
Yea she’s a pretty cool chick !
Great Video!! Are you here in Colorado? Thanks
Hey no we’re not we’re up in Canada!
What kind of sleeping bags do you use for cold weather late season backpack hunts?
Stone glacier makes a great one!

Agreed the sore on them are tough.
Nice episode. Glad you two pulled one off the mountain.
