I think internationally they may be a little under-appreciated just because of how big BTS is but EXO, BTS, and Seventeen are the only boy groups to top a million sales for an album in the last ten years. They're really not that under-appreciated in Korea and Japan but sometimes it does feel like some people may only see them as a performance group or get turned off by how many members there are even though they're a group that has no weaknesses.

It's so sad that their tour was cancelled this year (I had a ticket in my sticky little hand, too!) as that would have given them more attention over here. You're right - they are an incredible strong, self-directed, creative group.

I like for their first US tour they were doing Just Do It and Good to Me even though they had basically stopped performing those in Korea so it seems like they put some nice effort into what they'll perform. In the US it's mostly "oh you listen to kpop so BTS?" and no shade to BTS because they deserve no hate but you know, there's also Seventeen and Stray Kids and SF9 and the list goes on
@@KimbapKidding-vi6wt i just became a carat in june recently but i just wanna say svt is so so so so ssooooooo deserving of all the awards and praise and love. i love bts and they are so deserving as well but bts are also the type to want to share this kind of fame and love so that other groups could experience it and svt is such a good group. They are such a great combo of a group

Also most groups have members who are friends with other groups. They're just wanting to see each other succeed and some fans forget that in my opinion.
