I'd love to see how you do your adjustable neck joints. I reverse engineered from watching one of your videos showing the finished product. I'm slowly getting my own technique together.

Cost me $60K to learn how to do it. I bought two Greg Smallman guitars and examined them and designed mine based on my GS research 20 years ago. I have a detailed video course coming out in 2025 that you can purchase.

Hi David. Thanks for these insights into your guitar construction. I am using your old DVD course to build my own classical guitar using the traditional body/neck joint. However, this has always struck me as strange, as there remains carving work on the neck and it is possible to damage the sides when doing this. Accordingly, I really like your spline method as it allows the components to be finished more easily and better. Two questions: The gorilla glue you use, is it polyurethane glue or standard wood glue. Also, I assume that to ensure side-to-side alignment of the neck, you trim the face of the neck where it joins the body?

I have a video that shows me fitting the neck. I think it is the one about neck angle. Yes I use Gorilla PU glue. Traditional method you should not have any issues with damaging the sides. I've never had that issue.

@@schrammguitars Thanks David. On the latter point about potentially damaging the sides, please don't forget, you are an experienced expert, I am a humble amateur and the risk is high. That is why I like your spline joining method, because the body and the neck can be shaped and finished independently without any risk of damage. having used your old DVD's as a guide, your construction methods have clearly advanced significantly. It would be good if you were able to put together an new DVD (or TH-cam video) to embrace your latest construction techniques. I for one would be happy to purchase such guidance as you somehow manage to make it all look so easy! Additionally, another idea for a video would be your finishing process and techniques. Best Wishes.

@@gordonmacgregor7762 I started using the spline method on my 4th guitar back 30+ years ago. I still do both Spanish method and the spline method. When I did my CD Rom course I was doing both for many years.

Hi David, what do you think are the pros and cons of each neck body joint? I mean traditional vs spline. I read that you have done both over the years
