- This is one of the many ways you can set up the Kelty Noah’s Tarp 12. In this video I demonstrate how to set it up on the beach, with wind and by yourself. Enjoy!

I bought the 12' foot version and find it's the perfect size for camping or at the beach. I tried the 16' and it was way too big in my opinion.
Thank you. We had a great day at the beach due to this video
Awesome!!! Glad to hear it helped out.
About time I saw one set up for the beach. This vid helped a lot. Made my own version of sand anchors last year which are basically canvas bags that i can fill with sand / stones / whatever. Unused due to covid lockdown. I usually set my Basha tarp to a kayak and use hiking poles but my Basha doesn't have much room. I just got a DD 3x3 specifically for "free standing" use like you set up. I now need to find some poles like you have (in the UK) Thanks for sharing.
Awesome!
Sand anchors. What a cool and simple idea.
Thats a great configuration,,, never seen before,,, will try it on as I have the exact same gear,,, Kelty 12 with 2 extendable poles,,,, thanks very much
I had mine set in 30 mile an hour winds and it held up just fine although I had it anchored down really good in solid dirt knots and best damn tarp I've ever owned
great vid. can't wait to give it a shot. thx for sharing.
FVNGVS 👍 don’t get frustrated setting it up...took me a few tries to get it right.
Its "Aero Dynamic" very informative video.. thanks..👍
Nice job!
Thanks!!!
Great setup. Thanks. Which sand anchors did you get?
Thank you, it still works great for us at the beach years later! Unfortunately the sand anchors aren't available anymore but on the plus side, if you have some left over face masks laying around, they should work well as long as they aren't the throw away hospital kind.
Man, that really is a great setup...looks awesome with the matching green chairs. I've got the Noah's 12 in tan but don't use it much as I got frustrated with setting it up. Really is compact for a beach setup. One question, how long are the lines that go onto the sand anchors?
Thanks, it works well for us if we are going to be at the beach for at least a few hours. Not sure exactly how long I set the lines but I would guess around 8 feet. The real key is getting the holes dug in the right spot otherwise you end up digging holes twice! Ask me how I know...lol!
I just bought one of these. Can you please tell me how high your poles are extended?
Poles around around 6' - 7' i think
I need those anchors and can't find them anywhere. Please link them. Great vid.
Hi! I bought them so long ago unfortunately I don't think they are available anymore. For a diy solution, take some old cloth (or not flimsy) face masks and attach a carabiner to both ear loop ends...it's basically the same thing ;)
looks good. You could post product links and maybe make something on it as well...
Yeah I guess I forgot to add the links, thanks for the reminder!
@@drawersystemscan you add the links now 😂. I can’t find that style of sand anchors!
Nice setup. Have you tried larger sand bags to avoid digging? Thanks
Doots Cat I haven’t actually...I have my kids dog the holes to help set it up. It gives them something to do and helps motivate them to help mom and dad. 😉🍻
Do you think 16" tent stakes would work just as well as sand anchors? I camp at Holly Beach sometimes and wonder if the 20mph winds would pull up the stakes.
I haven't had good luck with tent stakes in the sand....you could also try the type of peg that twists into the ground. We forgot the sand anchors once and ended up wrapping the lines around our flip flops and it worked like a charm! Lol.
Hi, love your setup here, and I'd like to duplicate it, but having trouble finding those little black sandbag pouches with the carabiner attached. Can you please post a link as to where you bought them? I've been all over Amazon but can't find anything similar.
Thanks in advance, and again, great job on this setup!
greyboyallstars99 thanks for the comment. I just checked on Amazon and it looks they aren’t available but I’m sure there are similar sand anchors you can find. Here’s the link anyway: Tent Tools Sand & Snow Anchors -... www.amazon.com/dp/B0193HQRO8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
@@drawersystems Thank you sir! Sand & snow anchors were the keywords I was missing. Once I used these I was able to find something similar, here's the link, hopefully they will be as effective: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019F2QZ20/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
Thanks again! 👍
Link for the tarp and sand anchors ?
Here is the link for the tarp...amzn.to/3PPEriB The sand anchors are no longer available:(
Where did you get the telescoping tent poles?
I can't find those sand anchors anywhere. I need those.
icas80 looks like they stopped selling on amazon. You could probably achieve the same thing by tying up a handkerchief like a parachute, attaching to the guy lines and then bury it in the sand. I’m sure that would work just fine. 🙌🍻
Great job, what sa
Slick
What happens when wind stops? Thanks
If the wind changes directions you can move the poles so the opening is facing the wind. I've used it with very little wind and it basically held the same shape...you can also use 2 more poles to help with a no wind scenario.
Has anyone found similar sand anchor bags?
6 sand anchors? I see 4 lines.
I see it now (2 on each side)
Sherekaan hi there. Yes 2 sides of the tarp have 2 lines and the opposing sides have 2 lines each for a total of 6.
Question?? Why do you need 2 lines and one side ?
And not seeing these sand anchors on Amazon
No link?
Here's a link to the new version of the tarp. Get the 12' version...the 16' is way too big in my opinion. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find those sand anchors recently. amzn.to/4dphA9O
@@drawersystems my DD 3*3 did great in plow point config. Single pole 4 water bottles buried about 4" down in the sand with guy lines tied around them
SAND ANCHORS- Use camping stuff sacks or cloth grocery/gear bags - tie off the bag and then to your rope- don't rely on handles or cord that can rip out. Bury the bag deep in sand. I wrote this as I have sand anchors and almost never use them..... a useless product.
I got them super cheap on amazon quite a while back. Knock on wood, they've held up for a few years and I'll keep using them until they give out. Probably end up using old Covid masks to upcycle them. lol
I swear I thought it said trap! Not tarp.
So I was thinking it was a hole covered by a green mat for someone to fall in!
Lol
