Amazon Astro Personal House Bot, Initial Review.

This is Amazon Astro.
Astro is a personal house robot that can do a few marginally useful things, a few gimmicky, interesting things, and not a whole lot of actual house roboting. That said, I think that being a part of this home robotics assistant revolution is worth every penny!

Astro randomly wonders around the house making little R2D2 like noises and waiting to answer questions, control smart home things, or play music on command. He can even bring a drink to a specific person or place in the house. Astro has a LiDAR, a bunch of cameras and microphones and who knows what other sensors that arent enabled yet, as this thing is still in Beta.
The Personal House Robot Era has officially begun.

. . . and he can just give all your information to Amazon, or anybody Amazon will sell it to. The 'cloud' is just somebody else's hard drive (or SSD or NVME etc). All in the name of convenience. No thanks. I can carry a drink into another room.

Well I will say he DOES know exactly when Im out of something that I routinely buy because I mean, I installed an autonomous real time camera system for the company I buy the most stuff from. Its true. But I'm not super bothered by someone else making money off of my information. I dont know how to make money off of my own information and in reality, its all AI watching us all the way down, its not like Tim over at surveillance is sitting at his desk with a bag of pretzels watching me do workouts in my home gym.

@@SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE I can respect that. I guess it's all about disclosure. I'm sure it will help some people also. I'm just sure the people with Ring doorbells didn't know people would hack into them and spy on the homeowners. I'm just cautious with all this AI and super convenience tech. Everything has a cost. And oftentimes, nowadays, the cost is your privacy, and the sale of your information. I think if I had one of those, I may just clip it's wings, and disable internet for it.

Could you please talk about microvision, I can’t seems to understand why the stock dip, I’m literally down 93 percentage. Is it a futuristic and hopeful stock?
