Hi Tiffany! Happy Friday! Your shirring is nice. I want to learn to shirring. Your stash challenge... your doing Great!👍🏼
I'm working on the Cashmerette Vernon Shirt.
Have a blessed weekend and Happy Resurrection Day ! ✝️
Hello, Zelda! Thank you so much for watching! Ooo, can’t wait to hear more about your Vernon shirt! Thanks for chatting with me, Zelda! I hope you have a blessed Easter weekend! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Tiffany, I so enjoy your videos! You are always so upbeat and a delight to watch! I’ve also been hitting my stash - I finished a shirt for my husband in a really cool printed poplin with contrast neck band and cuffs and a shirt for myself in emerald green with white spots - right up my street. Now I need to get onto a Ponte dress I’ve promised to my schoolteacher daughter in law who wants it for her “school assembly days”! But family time now here in Milton Keynes in UK so focussing on grandchildren! Have a blessed Easter! 😊
Aw, Hello, Moira! Thank you so much for watching and for such a sweet comment, your kindness means so much to me!
I loved hearing about your projects! You’re doing an amazing job working on your stash! You’ve been an encouragement to me, Moira, thank you so much! 🥰
Hope you’re having a great week, Moira! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Hi Tiffany. You're doing great on the stash busting. Congratulations! I'm glad you and family are getting better after heading out to camp with colds. I wanted to sew up a knit fabric with bunnies on it for Easter but am keeping my nose to the grindstone and continuing on with my mom's memory quilt. I finally finished the machine quilting and am now sewing on the minky back. It's way more complicated than I thought it would be. The quilted motifs include poppies, books, roses, an egret, wind currents, lake waters, violets, dogwood flowers, cheese, and the whole outer border has a wandering philodendron (like in the movie Desk Set with Katherin Hepburn, which was one of my mom's favorite movies). I'll be so glad when this project is completed. I'm very close to the end. Wishing you and family a deeply appreciated and happy Easter, Antonia
Hello, Antonia! Thank you so much for watching! Aw, I loved hearing about your mother’s memory quilt, what an amazing, meaningful make! It does sound so very involved but it’ll be worth it, what a family heirloom it will become! Every time you see the quilt, your mother will be remembered fondly, that is so special, Antonia! Thank you so much for sharing your project with me! I hope you have a wonderful new week ahead! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
I finally finished my Easter dress. I need to make bias tape from the self-fabric to replace the white tape I used on the back neckline, even though I wore it yesterday. I saw the picture of your love family in your Easter clothes. Your dress is absolutely breathtaking!! Addy June is so beautiful as always. Your husband looks so handsome in a suit. I'm sure your Easter service was as great and full of blessings as ours was!!🩷
Hello, Dillis! Thank you so much for watching! I’m sooo excited that you finished your Easter dress! Did you post a picture on Instagram? I’d LOVE to see it! Thank you for your kind words about my family, I had so much fun designing Easter outfits for us 🥰 Hope you’re having a wonderful new week, Dillis! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Tiffany: I guess you can see I’m catching up on videos. We’ve had some life going on the past two weeks. I finally returned to sewing this week. I made my Style Arc Sidney Dress in pink linen. I love it!
👏👏👏👏 you are doing so well in your Stash challenge, I am so happy for you!!! I was off on vacation for 20 days, so no sewing for me. I will count what I sewed/used for the “first quarter” and I will post on a video soon 😊😊.
Happy Easter 🌸🌸. Karen
Hello, Karen! You’ve had a wonderful month away, that is so amazing to get to spend so much time with your mother, I’m so glad you could go! I can’t wait to see your stash video, Karen, thank you for sharing with me! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Great job on the stash busting! I have used 6 yards of muslin for my Cashmerette sloped school this month plus 16 fat quarters for my spring break 4-H sewing class. However, I did have to buy the muslin for the class (15 yards) and I gave it to temptation buying 3 yards of a wonderful floral cotton jersey at the same time, plus my 4 meters from the think pink subscription box. But the think pink box cancels out because I gifted my daughter the 4 meters I received last month. 😊 I have resisted purchasing most patterns this month, but I did get the Styla Portofino dress and top when it popped into the newsletter on sale. I had been keeping my eye out for a pattern with that waterfall neckline for over a year now, so did pick that one up during the sale. Didn’t make sense to pay almost double in a couple of weeks. I have been busy tracing, cutting and sewing muslins for the class. Hope to have another one sewn up by the end of the weekend. I hope you have had successful sewing sessions the past couple of day and were able to finish your beautiful dress in time for Easter blessings. Happy Easter ✝️❤
Hello, Angie! Aw, I just loved hearing about your stash progress. You are soooo busy with your 4-H projects, that’s just amazing that you give so much of your time for that, Angie! You’re an inspiration 🥰 Thanks so much for sharing with me, Angie! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Well done on your stashbusting Tiffany - you’re doing great and really keeping me on track too. I did buy 6m this weekend (for a few tops that I plan to sew in April /May) but, even allowing for that, I used 7m this month so a total of 49.5m used since 1st January. The intentional buying and sewing is definitely working for me - thank you for the encouragement. Right I need to continue sewing with my Vera top for SewFrugal. Have a wonderful Easter weekend. 🤗
Hello, Jan! Thank you so much for watching! Wow, Jan, you are doing absolutely amazing with the stash busting! Almost 50 meters of fabric!? That’s amazing! I’m so encouraged to keep working at my own stash just from hearing about your success 🥰 Thank you so much for sharing with me, Jan, keep up the great work! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Hello Tiffany!!! Have a very Blessed Easter and hope everyone feels much better now. I know how you feel,,, no sewing for me either!!!! My time lately has been spent in preparing for my surgery this coming Tuesday and getting what I can do for deep cleaning done for my spring. My twin #1 daughter will fly in Monday eve for helping me with recovery plus, my hubby has been down to her home, in Fla since esrly march,,, , installing her new kitchen. He volunteered ( or got volunteered, lol) to help them save a lot of$$$ by hanging her new cabinets, electrical, and any other job he can do get done. Trying to save her and her hubs all the $$ they can. Remodeling is very expensive as I know you understand. And your New house for sure! Hoping you have really enjoyed your new home. Your sewing space is wonderful. I have an area. Oh yes,,, I think I have FOMO, I know I do!!! But this down time recovering should really help. But there is internet. lol. Today was my birthday,,, a special day out with my daughter ( twin#2) and some shopping time. For sure,,,Jesus is our Lord and Savior!!! Thank you for your church invitation. Our church is fairly lg too, and also streams its services. It’s called Emmanuel community church. It’s big but not too big that you don’t feel included but also have to also be willing to join groups n studies. I enjoy it plus, there s a sewing grp too. Just finished this Wed eve, part two of my bible study, called Grow.It was really great. Starts with the beginning of the Bible and will end this time next spring with Revelations. Really been great and much to learn, esp for me. I attended church off n on when a child but never consistent. But do now. Take care and hope Addie June has a great Easter, church, lunch or dinner, and egg hunting. She’s so cute. Enjoy each phase as it truly flies by. If possible, I’d still like to get to meet you this summer, possibly, the U of sewing store. We’ll both wait until closer to summer but time flies too. Many Blessings, Nancy from ft Wayne.
Hello, Nancy! I’m so sorry I missed wishing you a very Happy Birthday!! I hope you had a wonderful day out with your daughter! I pray many blessings on you in the coming year!
And yes! I would love to meet up this summer, I’m so looking forward to meeting you, chatting and doing a little shopping 🥰 Can’t wait!
Thanks for chatting with me, Nancy! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
I have also implemented your sew your stash/ 3 months off 1 month on of fabric buying. I really do not need any fabric so I may go into April with the intention of only buying fabric if its needed for a project but as of now, no new fabric is needed and I ‘m making progress🤗
Hello, Shakira! Aw, I love that! That’s so smart, if you don’t have a need for new fabric, keep going on the non-buying month. Great strategy, Shakira, you’ve encouraged me on my stash journey🥰 Thanks for sharing with me! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
You’re doing extremely well with your challenge. I can’t say the same. I’m a slow sewer. If I was a slow fabric buyer as well I’d be awesome 😊. I’m still working on it though.
Hello, Pat! Aw, I know what you mean! My stash definitely grew because I wasn’t sewing near as fast as I was shopping, haha! You’re doing a great job working on your stash though, Pat, be encouraged to keep going! Thanks for sharing with me, Pat! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Great work on the stash busting 🎉🎉 I am taking part in the lastsewiststanding challenge which started mid Feb. I haven't bought any fabric, patterns, haberdashery etc so currently still in heavyweight category. I am avoiding the TH-cam videos of people going to sewing show's in the UK. I am not looking at my emails from fabric shops and so far not feeling too tempted! 🤞 I took part in #sewyellowforendo and have a make for #sewfrugal24 for tomorrow. Not sure what's next though.
Hello, Alison! Thank you so much for watching! Aw, congratulations! You are doing absolutely amazing with your stash challenge!! It can be so hard to avoid those temptations but you have an amazing plan and you’re sticking to it, that’s so encouraging to me! Thanks so much for sharing with me, Alison, keep up the great work! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
My Sunday was church and family😂
Hello, Karen! Sounds like you had a blessed Easter! Hope you have a great new week ahead as well 🥰 Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Happy Easter, Tiffany! I'm on a mission to USBD (Use Stash Before Death). I'm doing great, but had to buy backing fabric for a quilt I'm almost done with, which was a project to use up stash 🤪😄. @thimblhollow
Hello, Lisa! Thank you so much for watching! Haha, I laughed out loud at your mission!! That’s great to use everything you’ve lovingly collected, I love that! Keep up the great work, Lisa, hope you’re having a wonderful new week! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Do you ever want to stash bust, and find a pattern from your stash that you like, but can't find a perfect fabric and have to go get more? 😅 That is what I have been going through recently! Good intentions but having to buy fabric anyway LOL
Hello, Brooke! Haha, yes, I’ve definitely done that! It can be so hard when we have a pattern that we really want to try. What helps me is to pick out a piece of fabric first from my stash and then find a pattern that works for the amount of fabric I have. It’s been a shift in my thought process for sure!
Thanks so much for chatting with me, Brooke! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Hi Tiffany. Well done on eating into that yardage! You're doing great! I have been collecting fabric on and off for over 20 years and I'm currently going through some boxes that have been in storage, organising, measuring, counting, etc. I have... a tonne. 🙃 I've been thinking of trying my own stash challenge to help me work through it and I was wondering if you can offer any tips on how you've been keeping track. I have visions of making spreadsheets and binders and who know what else, but I also have a tendency of making things way more complicated than they need to be and wearing myself out before I even get started! 😅 Do you have a system in place? Or are you simply counting the yards as you use them and letting it be just that easy? I'd love to know! Happy Easter.💙
Hello, Tamsyn! Thank you so much for watching! That’s a great question about how I track my stash. I actually have 2 separate apps that I use, one for patterns and one for fabric. As soon as I buy new fabric or patterns I enter it into my app databases. I’ve done a few videos on these topics. I’ll link the playlist here for you. I also track my fabric via a swatch book, as I like to be able to feel the fabric as well.

There are so many ways to organize and catalog your stash. You could also search TH-cam videos for different strategies. It’s all about finding what works best for you and what you can maintain in the long run.
Thanks for the great chat, Tamsyn! I’m always here if you have any further questions! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
@@hoosierhandmade22 Hi again, thanks for pointing me in the direction of those videos. I've seen some of your older ones, but I guess I hadn't gone back that far!
I've just watched them and actually already do a lot of the same things you do. Prewashing, comic book boards, etc. I used to put all of the necessary info (fabric composition, width, length, whether or not it had been washed, etc) on a post-it note on the card, but I've recently started using new fabric labels from Kylie and the Machine. They come on a roll like masking tape and they're super handy. (Although I'm sure technically the good old post-it note was just as effective!) Beyond that I've recently started entering everything into Trello to keep track of it all. It's going well so far.
If I could just ask one more question... are you using any particular process to keep track of the fabric you've actually used and what you used it for? Do you just update the quantity remaining (if any) in the app, or delete it once you've used it all? Or do you have a separate place in the app/swatch book/somewhere else entirely to catalogue what you've made and how much stash it used up?
Thanks for the fun fabric chat! 💙
Tiffany: I guess you can see I’m catching up on videos. We’ve had some life going on the past two weeks. I finally returned to sewing this week. I made my Style Arc Sidney Dress in pink linen. I love it!
Hello, Cheryl! Thank you so much for watching! Aw, so glad you were able to work on your Sidney Dress this week! Did you wear it for Easter Sunday? I’m going to head over to your channel to see if you’ve reviewed it, it’s a beautiful pattern! Thanks so much for chatting with me, Cheryl! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
