  • The S&W M&P M2.0 10mm has become one of my favorite guns after shooting for the past six months. Combined with the Holosun 507K on top and its accurate and a ton of fun at the range. Have you shot the M2.0 in 10mm? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

      Hey do your mags rattle When fully loaded and in the gun? I noticed when I loaded the mags to full capacity, it rattles like gravel in a Can, I took out one round and it didn’t rattle much. I’m planning on getting some springer precision mag springs made specifically for the MP10.

      @@TheSodFather09 I put a 22 lb recoil spring in my 4" M&P 2.0 10mm. I bought it from Galloway Precision (part# GP-162-22-BLK). Mine does the same rattle/stuck follower thing fully loaded in the gun. It also doesn’t like to feed the last two rounds of any ammo type. I think these have magazine springs that were meant for the 45acp. I don’t like putting aftermarket parts in my guns but I might try a stronger mag spring for starters unless Smith has a revised version they can send me. It only has about 50 rounds of various ammo through it so far. Maybe needs more use to break it in, who knows..

    The ergonomics of it are just perfect for me, it's my favorite pistol. I'm not using a red dot, & have the largest backstrap installed. The trigger is noticeably gritty, I bought mine used, & wasn't sure if that's why the previous owner traded it in - that's my only gripe with the firearm. I find most of the 10mm ammo at the store isn't much better than 40 S&W, so you gotta pick the right ammo if you want [most] all the power.

    I love my M&P 2.0 4.625 inch 10mm with no safety lever. Used an Apex aluminum flat trigger upgrade using a model for M&P 2.0 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP but the gunsmith needed to adapt it as the M&P 2.0 10mm frame is a little larger. Using a Holosun 508T solar panel backup red dot using a C&H Precision aluminum mounting plate with stainless steel screws and blue-loctite. I tried putting stronger springs and messed up the reliability. Went back to the original spring and it is reliable. Will get mine ported by Mag-Na-Port eventually. Thanks for posting your review.

    Went with the 4.6 barrel model with holosun 507c. Started off with 507k and just didn't really like it plus the 507c can run on solar which was a plus for me. I had 1 ftf in first magazine but has been running great since. I the the problem is the angle of the feed lips and not spring tension. All my other pistol's magazines point the round right into the chamber while the m&p points way up. They polished the feed ramp very well but the round never touches it.

    Just FYI . . if you wind up carrying this gun or another gun with the 507K you can expect to replace the battery in a few months. Typically you'll find that you need to run the reticle on the second highest setting and the shake awake is pretty sensitive. It isn't such a big deal though because you can change the battery without removing the optic.

    S&W support out right told me you can not use underwood ammo in this gun. You can use ammo running at 40 cal numbers fine. But full 10mm loads and this thing is not reliable. Get a RIA 1911 or a Glock if you want to depend on a gun for your life with 10mm. First and last S&W for me.

      Also all the malfunction issues I’ve seen is the factory recoil spring. It’s got a lighter one in there but I bet they did that knowing a lot of people are buying this instead of 40, so not only are most people running something like “the fbi load” most people would think a 22 or 24 lb recoil spring is too stiff. Especially with a small thin slide like it has I bet a lot of reviews would ding it as hard to rack under pressure.. But it’s a man’s gun at the end of the day, need a chick gun go buy a bersa 380 so I get where the consternation comes from.. get you a new recoil spring and the slide won’t be moving too fast for the magazine anymore

    I bought the same model 6 weeks ago. Liked the 4" for carry (vs my longslide MOS G40). Kinda having a hard time finding anything else to like.
    I ran some PMC and Sig 180 as well as Underwood and Buffalo Bore in full power, 200 & 220gr loads. It cycles the PMC & Sig well. But that stuff is loaded to hot 40S&W velocities: not to 10mm velocities. If I'm gonna carry something that shoots a .401 180gr at 1100fps, I'll just run hot 40S&W in a smaller piece.
    The fact it won't reliably cycle full power 10mm as it comes from the factory is very disappointing. I mean these guys built the original FBI 10mm autos to run full on 10mm.
    I like your optic choice. The 507K is great. I have a couple of a 19 and a P365X. Wouldn't have occurred to me to run one on a full-size device.
    And the trigger. Well, I dislike it enough I ordered a Timney trigger for 2.0. Haven't installed it yet.
    I'll reserve judgement for now, but it is not going to make a carry piece in factory form. And that's disappointing. Smith makes or 2.0 that are really great items.

    • @languagesource355
      @languagesource355 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree on the point of not being reliable from the factory, but in my research and personal experience most of this is remedied externally. I have a 24lb. RSA from Galloway (mine is 4.6") and I installed Springer Precision extra-strong mag springs in my mags. There are a couple of good write-ups on the main reason for failing the heavier loads - mag geometry. The bullets with thicker meplat (200/220gr hardcast) can physically push out the mag catch because the magazine channeling ribs start "too late" as compared to other M&P 2.0 models (40, 45). For me I've decided to just use Underwood Xtreme Penetrators. They are still "full house" 10mm, yet bullets are not too wide. Zero issues. I also have about 300 rounds of just range ammo through mine and it seems to also have "broken in" (I know, it's a contentious term). I need another test with the hardcasts. My other idea was a "hybrid load"- 10 rounds of Xtreme Penetrators in the mag, topped off with the 5 hardcasts, plus one in the chamber. That way the hardcasts never touch the mag catch. I tested and had no issues. And keep it cleaned. I feel like we have a really good gun with poorly designed magazines and weak stock RSA. Easy to replace the RSA but someone at S&W should be demoted for those mags. Oh, the feed lips are also too short, that's the other problem. Still "external" to the gun itself. I'm still learning to trust mine, as well as learning to use a red dot on it.

      @@languagesource355 I bought the Springer Precision springs as well as a couple of their +5(?) extensions. I installed one spring in one mag. No change. I bought 22 and 24lb recoil springs from NDZ. No change.
      I bought a 10mm barrel and extractor for my Glock 41 MOS (5.3"). No more problems. It's bigger than I wanted, but I was carrying it with very hot 45 Super before, so...
      The 2.0 will likely never leave the safe again.

    • @languagesource355
      @languagesource355 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Swampytheroot it's not so much the power of the loads, as it is the shape of the heavier bullets, all about physical dimensions and poor mag design. Personally I think that this causes both, FTF and the mag drops, just depending on tolerances of each situation (gun/mag/ammo). I also think they went with this mag design to cram an extra round in the flush mag. Sad. M&P45 is same frame size, same mag chassis and the mag channeling ribs are proper and it all works just fine. Some even modify 45 mags for the 10mm. Still, very sad. If I was in your situation, I'd ship it back to S&W, as many times as it'd take. Let them bear the costs of their decisions.

      @@languagesource355 I sent it back twice already. I'm disgusted with them. At this point, it's wasted time. I may sell the NIB Timney trigger, the mag and recoil springs and the SCS optic off just to cover half the loss. See if a pawn shop has something worthwhile they're willing to trade for a basically new S&W 10mm. Oh, also found a place selling extra factory mags for under $35 with free shipping with a $100 purchase, so those can be rehomed, too. I've spent more time on a max range rifle. I have too many other handguns that run as close to perfect from the factory to waste time on this one. I have the G40, G41, a 610 and a GP100 in 10mm. Those all work without wasting hours and hundreds of dollars trying to coax them.
