    I love " the perfect hair" towel, a very smooth microfiber, like eyeglass cloth

    I had a fantastic hair day today using brush styling on damp hair and micro plopping. I used Protein Cream and Gel and I’m finally getting some ringlets. Your right Gena about damp styling instead of using so much water. I scrunch and squish and hear the sound and know I have the right amount of water. Thanks for sharing these videos.

    Thanks Gena! I love the shrinkage I get from diffusing! I do microplop, but now I think I'll be more deliberate when I do it. Always appreciate your hard work and dedication!

    I am definitely a microplopper! After quick brush through of my products, I scrunch with wet hands then microplop. Also recently tried the Soothe and Restore line from Tre Luxe and really like my results...just needed to get used to quantities as a little goes a long way. And thanks to you, I only use the hair repear towel

    Purchased a Hair RePear towel two years ago from a video you did. It is a great product. Will order another soon. Great tips and demos to show exactly how to style. Your videos are always so helpful, Gena.

    I have this plushy rectangle towel, it's microfiber. After washing, I leave the turbie (microfiber) towel on 5 minutes max., take the hair out, brush the tangles out one last time, fluff it, then put mousse in (bent down) and a little gel, and then I just squish it upwards with this plushy towel. Never ever knew it was a "thing", or that it was called "microplopping". Oh well, I'm sure a lot of us use this technique! I used to wait 3/4H to diffuse but now I just after an H max. dry it and it comes out much more defined than in my picture.

    I’ve struggled all summer in New England with our hard water. Tried a lot of your tips for that but now it’s time to go back to Florida where we have a shower filter and I get totally different hair results .
    But I have been putting my products on first then plopping . Not for long because my hair is fine and high porosity .My curls are not really holding ,so after seeing your video I’m going to try this technique !
    Thanks

      Hi Joy,
      I have fine, low density curly hair & live in a very hard water area. The reading is around 350 ppm where I am in the UK.
      I have been using Malibu C Hard Water Wellness Shampoo & conditioner for around 3 months & my hair loves it. I am really impressed with it!
      It is gentle & can be used often, unlike their normal cheating shampoo. It could be worth a try when you are back in New England again.

    the course areas of my hair just drink up all the gel i put so i never get a cast, but if i put more gel it’s sticky, and by the end of the day those course areas are frizzy and undefined

      I just tried the Tre Luxe Soothe and Restore Primer and foam gel. Wow...complete game changer for my hair. Little to no frizz, well defined, decent volume and softer hold. I still add the Hi Def gel though for extra hold and scrunch out the crunch when it is 100% dry. They have a 30 day return policy. Might be worth a try. I hesitated for months as I didn't want another disappointment but I am so glad I tried this line. I use the Primer as my leave in. Good luck

      @helenl7967 I have to ask, do you micro-plop after adding the tre luxe and gel? I like how it speeds up drying time but wonder if it is adding to frizz problem. Thanks 😊

    • @helenl7967
      @helenl7967 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@crystal6811 yes. I microplop after applying product and brushing it through. Sometimes the microplop can add to frizz if you are not careful. I'd I mess up I can tell. So before I start to diffuse I may use wet hands to smooth or scrunch areas that look stringy or have wet frizz. I also may need to add a bit more product watered down to a specific area. Definitely a process but I do not have time to do a complete brush styling. I also hover diffuse on high heat to start if my hair is too wet. Then decrease to med heat and airflow....high maintenance for sure. I am getting my hair cut this week before I head to the tropics. Can not deal with long hair heat and high humidity for the next 4 months.

      @helenl7967 I don't know if you got my last message, I can't find it 🤷🏻‍♀️ thank you for all the tips, tricks, and advice. I have been on my curly journey for a year now. Still trying to find what works. My hair has grown alot but still have straight pieces at the ends. Thinking of doing a big chop and let it grow back out. Good luck fellow curly 😁

      Jas294,
      I was having the same issue where the towel soaked up too much of my gel.
      I switched things up and found that micro plopping after leave in conditioner but before stylers works for me. My hair is still wet enough to add stylers after micro plopping at that stage.

    How soon after do you put on product do you microplop, won’t this remove the gel you just put on.

    • @GenaMarie
      @GenaMarie  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I microplop as soon as I'm done applying product. It soaks up some, but your hair will retain what it needs. I also show in the video how I add an extra layer of gel after microplopping.

    The top of my hair (and only the top) dries extremely fast. Like minutes. Sometimes I dont have time to even add a leave in before it's dried. It's very frustrating. Also, with age, that top hair is almost entirely straight while the rest is wavy to curly. My hair is a mess. :(

      I only wash 2x a week and I do a quick routine on the one weekday and other routine on the weekend.
      Having curly hair requires maintenance unfortunately if you want it to be healthy or achieve a certain look.
