Loving Spearhead as between work and Dad responsibilities I struggle to find time to commit to 4 hour AOS/40k games. Spearhead gives you the option of quicker games, taking up less space at home, and giving the benefit of smaller painting projects so you feel like you are making progress quicker and can have more painting project diversity if you go for different armies. We are currently running a Spearhead league at the local FLGS which has attracted a handful of new people. Currently have 14 people with 13 different armies represented and everyone is enjoying it!
@@matthewmcfadden6332 This 1000 times. Spearhead is all the fun of AoS but less thinking for prep and faster games. Plus, I don't feel guilty having 4 armies. I even bring extras for newcomers to try things out. It's a nice, balanced game but still has strategy.
I'm really enjoying spearhead but completely agree with the terrain and board critique. We've just started playing house rules and using different terrain and a bigger board. Keeps it fresh
To me the attractiveness of Spearhead are the free rules and that I prefer to collect many factions instead of going all in on one faction. I hope they continue to support Spearhead.
Have played 12 games of spearhead, mostly in a tournament setting (1.5hr timeframe / match), I think its great fun, relatively robust and offers a significant amount of meaningful & tactical decisions almost every game with decent skill expression for a beginner friendly game! If you are thinking about it - definitely give it a try! The fire & Jade pack is essential though! - the cards and board is what MAKES the game.
Hammering the war since 2nd ed. WHFB. My problem with AoS 3.0 was that it got more and more bloated with rules aiming to keep competetive interresting. Im also a Father of a 5yo and my hobby time ist limited. Spearhead brought me back into painting and playing. I love the format. It's not as long and I don't have to care for army building, drops and battle tactics at all. I can pick a Spearhed from my armies sit down and get started. It's the best format to get into Warhamer since.
Given my lifestyle and limited gaming time, Spearhead is right down my alley. I don't see myself playing full AoS anytime soon. Other than the board size I think that some of the playing area cons can be remediated. Double sided neoprene Spearhead mats with different designs and printed objectives are starting to pop up online which IMO look better than the slightly glossy GW board. The terrain pieces can also be switched as long as the size of each piece is similar.
Yeah, came here to mention that the official rules for terrain are just "two large pieces and two small pieces" and you can make those pieces whatever you want to use as long as they are equitable/comparable and both players are cool with the choices. I've seen a lot of Spearhead games that don't use the "standard" pieces that came with the boxes.
Those lower model count spearheads and playing on a smaller game board are really enticing as someone who exclusively plays skirmish games. Thanks for sharing!
I bought the Skaventide box mostly because my wife just likes the Stormcasts familiar models and my new FLGS got a really good deal on it and we actually managed to build all of them _and_ have a game of Spearhead within a couple weeks so I definitely consider it a big win, it does what it says on the tin, gives you a quick and relatively easy way to got into AoS.
Spearhead is exactly what got me into AoS! I played a few games, really enjoyed it, and picked up the Skaven to play my own army. The store I play at typically plays Path to Glory on Thursdays, so I just transitioned into that and it felt like a lot less of a learning curve as I already knew the core rules, unlike Kill Team to 40k. 100% recommend!
From what I've heard, spearhead was actually in development before combat patrol, and when 40ks team saw it they knew they wanted to make their own, but had to rush to put it out with the launch of 10th
Feels like a great casual format ripe for house rules like custom board size and terrain. I’m going to give it a so since I need to buy literally 1 model to have the Kruleboyz spearhead 🤘
Loved this video, I actually got into AOS because of spearhead and you are right, most veteran players don't want to even try and play this mode. Which is sad for a noob like me because I have to find other new players that want to try this out and they are pretty rare in my neck of the woods. I agree that the board could be bigger and allow for more terrain sizes and variety but I don't see why we can't create house rules regarding board size and terrain... I would say a board like combat patrol would be better already (not that I have every played combat patrol). At the moment I have 9 different spearhead armies for which 2 are completely painted at the moment and another is almost done... I have 7 of them built and some primed. I love the variety it brings to my hobby, even though I mostly paint board game miniatures on my channel, I like to paint a unit between videos. I love the simplicity of the rules and this made me actually towards two complete armies (One Nighthaunt and One Soulblight Gravelords - just collecting the different heroes and units is so much fun). I have tried to play a 1000 point army game and learned the hard way that you really need to pay attention and learn everything about your army to really get into the game. I am not competitive at all and love playing these games but just wish Spearhead was more popular where I am. You also made me look into combat patrol but those boxes are even more expensive and I am not sure I would even like the lack of variety there is on the 40K side (regarding minis, they all seem very similar with the odd factions here and there). Anyways, if you could subscribe to my channel it would mean a lot!
spearhead is a fun little system, that i agree could use a slightly bigger board. the upside to me is really that they can do some really fun stuff with spearhead, right now its fairly simple, but they could add in more complexity with seasons or something that could be fun.
I was planning on selling all my aos models I burnt out painting 2 years ago, but finding spearhead exists I can actually use most of what I painted before and play the game. I'm already getting good work into the stormcast eternals spearheads and playing every week at my lgs.
Agreed on all points! Spearhead has been fantastic at helping my game group teach new players for sure, and it's been a good intro to 4th edition. We're also all excited about AOS for the first time, which has been fun. We're also using different terrain from the Heart of Ghur Warcry sets, which helps shake things up a bit. I think this was a step in the right direction for GW, I hope they shake things up with new play boards and terrain! Thanks for the video!
I've stuck to warcry as a new hobbyist. This feels like such an accessible way to dip my toes into building an army before going crazy and committing to multiple boxes before even knowing if I like the feel of an army's playstyle. Currently debating between Sylvaneth and Soulblight Gravelords.
Plus, Warcry still lets you mix and match models from different units freely. Rather than having fixed teams or narrow options. (At least, that's how it worked last time I checked).
@@Bluecho4 yep, as long as it's a hero from the same grand alliance or an underworlds kit. So I've been buying 2 warbands at a time from the same grand alliance to have fun with lists and narrative play
As someone with not a lot of time to hobby because of work but who enjoys variety I dont really have a lot of time to put together and plan mutiple armies and play full games of AoS so spearhead being smaller, shorter and being a set list is a very welcome addition for me since it just ticks all the boxes
I think we also need to mention how good the value of Skaventide Box is. 140€ (usually cheaper if you buy from non GW stores) for two full spearheads, the battle map, terrain, rulebook for spearhead and AoS, and the jade/fire card set
หลายเดือนก่อน
I bought skaventide, but kept just the spearhead content and sold the rest, they ended up costing very little.
I was a Necromunda and Mordheim player with no interest in one of the GW core games. Then they released the Skaventide trailer and they piqued my interest. Then they described Spearhead and I preordered the box. Now there are five of us building Spearheads to play and potentially move into Path to Glory in the future. Spearhead worked well on our group.
Honestly, I'm not really interested in playing AoS, Spearhead, 40k or Combat Patrol anymore. I'm tired of the rules changes. I still love the miniatures though, and I'm still collecting and painting those. In terms of games, I am really enjoying Necromunda, Legions Imperialis and Warhammer The Old World with the slower pace of rules changes and feeling much more like "have fun" games with story and flavour, rather than competition rulesets.
I actually do like Spearhead and have been playing AoS since 2nd edition. The games are quick and it can be fun to try different armies out. And it is great for teaching new players! I do agree that the boards are small, but I am not sure a bigger board would work well for a 4 round small scale game. I am curious to see what the new realms bring to the game. :)
I like Spearhead...mostly because it is quick to setup and play. Our games also take a long time because we joke and fool around a lot. And I have 2 spearheads and working on a 3rd. I had most of the models from before so I had to build and paint one unit for each Spearhead. I also proxy units, like using Khrone demons instead of Khorne mortals. And you don't have to use the terrain from the box, you can use any terrain of similar size. As you don't have to use the same models from the boxes, you can use similar models and even covert your own.
I agree in regards to board size and terrain pieces. Hopefully if they introduce more realms, the new boards will have a different size and different terrain.
I used to frequent my local GW shop a lot and when Kill Team was originally published (Black Library site, it was a free download as I recall), it was a way to play with friends who's collection was not as large as some players. At least that's how it was explained to me by my local GW salesperson. You literally picked individual models from your army and then, after paying the points cost in your codex, you assembled your team. Later, they streamlined it to have their own books and stuff and now they have bespoke model kits. I wish it stayed how it was, or closer than it is now. But, I'm glad others are having fun with it.
I'm a big fan of spearhead. When I play 2,000 pt games I always feel like I'm forgetting the things I need to do. I also probably like to paint more than I play. I'm also looking forward to trying out other armies. Another big benefit it is very easy to teach making a great game to teach new players while having fun. I think a 2 board mode would be a great idea.
I was just thinking this too. I think Spearhead is fine on the single-board, but it would be interesting to tweak things a little to play on 2 boards like Combat Patrol.
As it is, I made my own version of a the deck (Tactics/Commands) for Combat Patrol (Secondaries/Stratagems) and adopted the "Control 1/2/more" scoring. It's been a fresh way of playing Combat Patrol for me. Not an end all, but a fun thought experiment.
I think if the warp lightning cannon and the other unit that you need for the alternate if spearhead is 120, then man-thing might as well just get the spearhead box and count both boxes as being progress toward a full skaven army, yes yes.
About 2 years ago a friend bought me a start collecting IronJaws box and in the month it took me to build and paint it he'd sorta fallen out with AoS then when we tried to play the the force was kinda weird, But about a month ago I decided I just wanted to paint Zoggrok Anvilsmasha. I enjoyed painting that so I got a set of brutes and a Megaboss so now I have a 1000pt army and gonna play my first game of AoS this weekend hope I enjoy it.
Spearhead got me over the barrier of buying into GW by getting the Skaventide box (found it for less than the Ultimate Starter). Got the Stormcast Spearhead built and slowly working on the rats (realizing I probably wouldn't want to go for a full horde army) and connected with the AoS players at the FLGS, just haven't been able to manage to find the time to get a game in yet...
I would say people who are warhammer curious around me took to a single game of spearhead well if only to learn the core rules. My friends are ambitious though and want to field more models. inevitably we'll be playing 1k games of AOS but with stripped back rules (no season stuff, no battle tactics, etc)
I really do enjoy Spearhead. Started with my existing models of Slaves to Darkness and quickly got me the board/cards and a Soulblight spearhead. I agree on the crammed impression but overall the game is so much fun with the cards twisting every turn and the deck to try to score/buff. For me it fixes the AoS itch on a much easier to play level.
As an experienced AOS player, I think spearhead is great to get variation in my games, I love the format. Also terrain can be different but must be "2 bigs and 2 smalls", but I'm not sure this would really change game experience.
I love the idea of spearhead, probably would have gotten my buddies to play. We both tried building 1000-1500 point armies and just over time lost interest in it OPR is basically what I use my minis for now but I could make the spearhead with what I’ve got!
Thanks for the video. I appreciate your enthusiasm and your honest opinions. That said, I found the video interesting, but I don't think I will be jumping down another GW rabbit hole with Spearhead or AoS.
Great vid. As on the sons box as I know you guys are now get the stormbringer subscription. I managed to get 3 of the first issue of the model set and 1 of the second and that gave me 3 baby gargants for £40.
As someone that has been playing AoS since 1.0 I consider Spearhead to be a fun and entertaining format. Spearhead has also been incredibly popular at my local shop. It's actually been more popular than standard AoS, enough so that this year's shop AoS qualifiers and championship are being played using the Spearhead rules. You are certainly correct in stating that going wide is a great option. A lot of folks around here have picked up multiple Spearheads for variation and a change in play style. Personally I'm looking forward to the new Darkoath Spearhead coming out soon.
Loving Spearhead and looking at picking up more just for the mode. I do agree about the board size and I think adding a second or going up to 2x2 would solve that issue the easiest
I'm going to get into AOS with Spearhead. My partner wanted the GreySeer, and knew the box would be cool and fun and he could probably get our friends into it if it wasn't such an investment. I bought the ultimate box for christmas, (He'll be the rats, I'm gonna take the stormclast) I can't wait to get the nighthaunt box.
The only problem I have with spearhead is the bringing back of units could use some tweaking..then again I might be seeing with my game-losing glasses so who knows? Also, remember to use those commands!!
I've already two completed spearheads and one already evolved into a full army. Still I have to play a game but spearhead helped me focus on finishing smaller projects and gave a purpose to all the miniatures I have. Also they are full non gw miniatures and costed me way less than the spearhead boxes 😊
Spearhead got me into AOS. Always said I'd not buy into it but the Web hype & gaming group peer pressure pushed me over the edge. Built a couple of armies & ready to go.
Spearhead feels like one of those games that's a great gateway to the larger product. I haven't had the opportunity to try it -- everyone I know wants to play Warcry instead. Always great to hear your thoughts!
I'm tempted by Spearhead, especially since Warcry and collecting here and there gave me two already: Lumineth Realm Lords and Daughters of Khaine. However, those undead tempt me. I have two old vampire lords from the old colonial looking vampire days. Those are so much better. Great video!
If the release of Age of Sigmar 4 mirrors the release of 40k 10th, then that will happen. Each new 40k Codex is accompanied by a new Combat Patrol box and with each new AoS Battletome there should be a new Spearhead.
I have to admit I’m interested, though I haven’t played any games yet. I’m an occasional player and the idea of having pre-balanced forces appeals to me. Next I have to check if I have all the models for any of them ready and what I need to get, build and paint.
Spearhead is my favorite GW game I've ever played. I've been on/off AOS/40k for over a decade now. I've played a handful of the "real" game. But Spearhead I've already played multiple. It's allowed me to "go wide" on my collection as well. I absolutely love the no list building aspect of it. I've completed 5 Spearheads so far but own 14 or 15. I'm aiming to collect all of them. Just one note to add to your video, the terrain doesn't have to be those same 4 pieces. The rules in Spearhead say 2 large, and 2 small pieces. And those large/small can drastically change as well. The ruined realmengine (the pyramid from Seraphon) in the rules count as a "small" terrain piece even though it's literally larger than the large one that came in the Spearhead box. Playing with different terrain can drastically change the strategies used. I'm personally a fanatic of Spearhead. It's the first time I've been truly excited about a GW product.
Yeah I agree about the terrain, it seems so cramped with units of 10 rats. Besides they didn't change the move characteristics of units, so I found that every unit move too far, there is no way to outmaneuveur a unit, you kinda have to charge all the time.
I've been working on the ultimate starter set. About ready for my first game of Warhammer. I love how jade and fire book has all the armies and their stats. Hope they do this with combat patrol. Then I might get into it.
I played 8th Ed fantasy and age of sigmar up until 3rd Ed when I just didn't have the time. Recently me and the guys decided to try spearhead and we had a great time. It wasn't short though. We still have the same issue we always did (our dwarf player mate will rules law every move for 4 hours). So you can reduce the game, but you can't reduce the gamey gamer 😂 I like the addition of cards, and overall yeah, a good time. But agree with all your points.
Please can you do a video summarising all the different current warhammer and age of sigmar games? I’m newly returning and there’s 40k, AoS, spearhead, blood bowl, combat patrol, kill team, necromunda, warcry, underworlds, cursed city. It would also be great to see the cross over and what sets can be used in other games or if you need to buy more to play for example from warcry to AoS. It would also be great if you could include a prediction or future plans the kill teams seem to be all new so is this a good investment going forwards? Thanks
I already have 2, nearly 3 full armies, so I am definitely not Spearhead's target audience, but i have one big issue with it: often the part of the army showcased in the boxes is not the part I care about. The Khorne spearhead is all mortals. I want to play all daemons. The Gitz one is everything but spiderfang, the only subfaction I play. I would love some more variety with these boxes.
I play AOS since 1ed and love the Spearhead format. It's almost apart from normal AOS. Having a bigger game mat and more scenary would be nice but will probably slow the game, needing 5 rounds instead of 4.
I appreciate your reviews and talking points on all the subjects you cover. I also appreciate you as a person and I admire you for all you have accomplished in our hobby space. I would love for you to talk more about your games and less about GW. I really enjoy DETH WIZARDS, and feel you need to give us more of your time and energy on this game and others you have created... I appreciate them so much more than GW products. I am sure I am just the minority here, and mean no disrespect or insult.
I appreciate your kind words. At the end of the day, there are two problems: 1) this channel is aimed at getting new players into the hobby, and GW is still a big part of that, and 2) talking too much about our games (like Deth Wizards) feels a bit too much like self-promotion, and I have a hard time with that. Our new ‘zine will be coming out next month, so you’ll probably hear about that here. Thanks for watching!
This is exactly where I am now with my spearhead nurgle army. I'm about 75% complete overall (it's taken my a few months to get here!! ... I know, very slow!) but I'm really excited to finish it and finally play my first game of spearhead! I must admit, I'm very tempted already to buy other spearhead armies and build them, but, must resist 😅....
Spearhead sounds amazing, but why not make it even better like BOARDING ACTIONS in 40K! Best thing GW did. Same Rules as 40K (with little tweaks), limited to 500pts (combatpatroly), many unit options, so so many missions, faster games, etc. They should do that with AoS, maybe call it Dungeon Actions 😅 Very interested in hearing your opinion, Uncle Atom! I bought many combat patrol boxes and painted them up but never got over the point of expanding to a whole 2000pts army BUT 500pts is easy from a combat patrol box. I now have two finished Boarding Actions armys and 4 on the way! And you can always vary by changing one unit to another. Admittedly no big tanks and such. But you can play 40K in a fast and very interesting style (BTW: there’s even prepainted mdf terrain available online) AND you can play it with up to 4 Players! SO GREAT 😊
Picked up the Kharadron Overlords and Ogor Mawtribes for Spearhead, buddy has the Skaventide box so looking forward to throwing some dice and models around in the next few months. I hope GW can restrain themselves in keeping this game mode the way it is and not thinking they need to update it more than once every year or two. For what its worth I would've bought the Cities of Sigmar one but decided against it since I would've rather fielded a Steam Tank instead of that cannon, feels like a real missed opportunity for GW swap those models considering the strength of the COS box.
I've got 1 spearhead that I've nearly finished painting up. Had 3 games against the same person over the course of a day and it was some of the most enjoyable tabletop gaming I've had since I was 15. My spearhead is entirely unrelated to my large Age of Sigmar army though. I have 1000 points of Age of Sigmar Ironjawz (specifically Maw-Gruntas because I love pigs and I love warhammer steeds), but my spearhead is Sons of Behemat
Yeah it’s been fun to play so far. The board size is fine imo though I am an avid warcry player and I do get to use the board in warcry now so it’s adding non sameyness to that game for me. I will say because of the board size, I think the amount/size of the terrain is kind of at its maximum. I definitely wouldn’t use more terrain for Spearhead. It would be hard to move your units around. So that does start to add to that same kind of sameyness you were talking about. Id try adding different bits of AOS and warcry terrain around the outside edges of the board. It adds a bit of extra flavour here and there.
I'm interested in spearhead. I haven't played AOS before. I've thought about the soulblight or gloomspite spearhead. I'm about two boxes away from having the nighthaunt spearhead. I've heard from my local game store that spearhead is pretty good.
For 3d printers out there, the Crosslances giants are excellent replacements for the gargant spearhead box. They're similar aesthetically, around the right size by default, and come with 3 different sculpts. Just be aware that the gargant spearhead is a little oppressive. They're already pretty tough, and each one has a 5 in 6 chance of reducing the melee accuracy of an opposing unit they're in combat with. If you and your friends are just getting into wargaming, it might not be that fun to play against these repeatedly. I've gotten to play with/against most of the spearheads thanks to my local game store putting together demo spearheads to borrow during our spearhead league, and the only one that's more powerful in my estimation is the Gloomspite Gitz. But at least with the Gitz, even if the troggoths are unkillable wrecking balls, your opponent can have a great time wiping out swathes of gobbos and squigs.
Since the idea is buy a box and you're in, (with each box having an appropriate level of strength), I not only support the larger field but think a set of 2v2 rules would serve to change things up, allowing for more tactics and way more play diversity. Make it a little more group centric after those 1v1 tutorials.
Been thinking about getting a spearhead. I still have a lot of 2ed nighthaunt and Stormcast plus the FEC side of Carrion Empire. Debating on going Chaos or maybe another Order army to even the playing field against my death Bois.
To be honest the best mini Warhammer games are the ones with lost building like boarding actions and 40k in 40minutes Ming of the Colosseum. You are right that the games are samey I played a lot of games when it came out and yeah they all basically went the same way. I think the best part of spear head was making the missions and the command points on the same cards so you had tough choices to make.
Helping my son assemble his spearhead. We only have 1 more stormcast vanquisher to put together and then we can pit my Seraphon spearhead vs his stormcast!
Is there an app that can be used to make tracking stats for death wizards easier? We have a 3 member party which makes it easy to lose track of each individual models damage and such. Plus I would like to save on paper by removing the need for the character sheets.
I recently had to base all my friend's seraphon spearhead. She and some other friends have all started playing that version of aos. I'm not inclined to play it, though. I still don't want to pay GW prices in Australia.
I played a couple of demo games, and was interested in Spearhead until I realised that the free rules don't include the spearhead cards, which are pretty much what makes the game work. So while the rules are indeed free, the mechanic that makes the rules usable isn't. Typicl GW bate and switch in my opinion. Combat Patrol might not be very good, but at least it is genuinely 100% free, with no essentials behind a pay wall. I went with OPR Skirmish, which is an awesome rules set to get a few small, fast paced games in an afternoon.
I picked up both the Spearhead board and Spearhead decks on eBay for about $20 USD from people parting out their Skaventide boxes. I didn't bother with the terrain because I already have plenty.
I sadly havent gotten around to Spearhead as Im still neck deep in other projects. I really should break my tradition of getting models painted for games and just get them built to play for once, or get them based at the very least. I really want to get into AoS this edition but Im not going to twist my arm if I just cant set aside the time. I do like GW is fully on board with offering 2 Spearheads for each faction, one being their current Vanguard and a new Vanguard for the edition. Im sure many of the more boring factions will get better Spearheads, especially those getting any range updates like Fyreslayers and Orges are rumored to get
I find Spearhead has more replayability than Combat Patrol thanks to the cards. CP only has two different secondaries per list, so it can feel very samey. I already have the Slave to Darkness and Slaanesh spearheads, and with the announcement of the new Slaves to Darkness Darkoath Raiders spearhead, I also have everything it includes available, if not yet built.
It’s been 3 months?! I still haven’t finished assembling and painting all of my Seraphon and Orruk Warclan Vanguard boxes. I’m too busy of a boy to find people to play this game. Maybe I can use these models for 5 leagues from the borderlands which I will purchase at some point
Ive played far more spearhead than aos at this point. I am really hyped for those cool new conan esque guys to get added to the mode as they really dont work in AoS as an army. The fact that they did their launch box, it was just about the right size for a spearhead and instead they gave them 3rd edition rules that expired in 3 weeks was...a decision...
Regarding bad point #1, experienced AOS players probably not finding spearhead interesting - I'm an avid AOS player, I have multiple 2k+ armies, I play a game every week or so - And I still find Spearhead a lot of fun and very engaging. The card objective/command ability system is very well thought out, and successfully makes these games way more engaging than if they were simply a small AOS game. Also - You don't actually have to use the Skaventide terrain. The rules just tell you to have four pieces of terrain of approximately appropriate size. We play with other terrain all the time and it works just fine.
Weird side tangent: bringing up the Fireslayers made me think about the Elbonians from Dilbert. Could they be an army, or subfaction, in AoS or 40k? How effective would they be, as they are canonically short, stupid, technologically backward, and survive purely based on sheer, random dumb luck (on the rare occasion when they do). Does anyone have 3d files for an Elbonian? SQUIRREL!!🐿️
This would seem to be the logical thing, seeing that Fire & Jade are two of AoS's 8 realms. It would stand to reason that they could/would release additional 'seasons' down the road for the other Realms, complete with a thematic 2-sided game board and decks.
In my gaming circle, even people who have been playing for a while are having a BLAST playing spearhead league. The 'samey' is kinda true, to an extent.
The game is also better, and GW is generally nicer about stuff. If you buy into Combat Patrol, the fixed rules require you to build terrible non-optimal weapon options, and combat patrols are between 250-450pts of your eventual 2000pt warhammer army. Spearhead and Age of Sigmar are both fixed weapon loadouts. There is no way to build the unit "wrong" besides the tiny free buffs provided by your banners/musicians, you always want 1 of those in a unit if you have them. Spearhead boxes are also typically more like 550-800 AoS points. My Cities box was about 700 I think, and that's a horde army.

PERSONALY I ADORE spearhead and cant wait for more boxs
I do love the simpler, faster spearhead format and I have about 8 different factions to paint up. Since I like to collect wide it works well for me.
Thank you for your awesome Vids! me and my friends finally found our groove in this version of AOS. it's GREAT!
Interesting discussion on Spearhead. Thanks for posting.
I love Spearhead! I already had Skaven and Chaos, now I can play them quickly, a couple of games in an afternoon at my store.
Haha, yesterday I was searching for such a video taking a look at Spearhead after some time and here it is! Thanks 🙏
Cities of sigmar next! Woohoo! Love that cannon!
Experienced AoS player here, and I really enjoy Spearhead. It's less mentally intensive and you can easily get multiple games in a single day
I love the idea of spearhead, probably would have gotten my buddies to play.
Fair enough! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for posting!
Great video, Adam.
This has been on my mind a lot lately! Thanks.
This is a really good video, Sir. Thank you. Helped me make some decisions. MDW
Our gaming club loves Spearhead. It's super easy to just "Set up and GO".
It at least got me painting my Idoneth at last, who have been lying around ever since they actually first released, and get already a few games in
I've been loving Spearhead. I agree with a lot of this. I think there needs to be two spearheads for each army faction. Just to switch things up.
If the release of Age of Sigmar 4 mirrors the release of 40k 10th, then that will happen. Each new 40k Codex is accompanied by a new Combat Patrol box and with each new AoS Battletome there should be a new Spearhead.
I’ve played Boarding Actions, Killteam, Warcry and Spearhead. Spearhead is by far my favorite as a dad with limited free time. Also Fantasy > Sci-Fi
I like the idea of Spearhead. I haven't played it yet. The objective/tactic cards seem interesting. I'd like to try those cards in other games.
They should do that with AoS, maybe call it Dungeon Actions 😅
Very interested in hearing your opinion, Uncle Atom!
Haven’t played Spearhead yet, but it does seem interesting. My main concern is the size of the board and how that would affect replay.
Got the skaventide and it was my first foray into age of Sigmar. I think spearhead is so much better than combat patrol
I can’t confirm or deny that I may stalk my phone at 2:59am just for these videos to drop. Keep up the awesome content.
It's 8.59 in the morning for me in germany. Yes I might do or don't do the same...

Loving spearhead and have played sigmar since 2nd ed.
I like spearhead because I can dip my toe into painting another army without feeling like I am wasting $150 on models that I will never play with.
Lets go!
It’s been 3 months?! I still haven’t finished assembling and painting all of my Seraphon and Orruk Warclan Vanguard boxes. I’m too busy of a boy to find people to play this game. Maybe I can use these models for 5 leagues from the borderlands which I will purchase at some point
Skaventide got me into AoSand I’ve played 5 spearhead games with my rats!
I really like spearhead. My biggest issue is finding someone to play the game with. My local players only seem interested in playing 2000pts 40k 😕
I really hope that GW continues to support Spearhead. Some new "mission packs" with a new board, terrain, and cards every so often would be fantastic
I just got into the hobby and I’m surprised by how much better the models are for AoS than Warhammer!
