I saw Meatloaf perform in 1993 at the Pier in St Petersburg, FL. It was just a small bar/nightclub. Maybe 500 of us there that night. I remember thinking to myself as I was listening to him that I was one of luckiest human beings on the face of the earth. That I didn't want to be anywhere else in the world but where I was at that exact moment. By far the best live performance I have ever seen. I literally left that night a changed person.
I saw him in 1990 in a small little basketball court in Ireland. He did an Irish tour of local civic halls that held 1,000 and 2,000. The show was utterly brilliant...
This is truly when a musician knows they have hit the big time...when they have a full orchestra performing their song as they sing along to it!!! May this great musician Rest in peace. Thanks for all that you gave us Meatloaf!!!! You will never be forgotten!!!! At least not by me!!!
Thanks for recognizing the genius behind this masterpiece. Writers and poets of these timeless songs need recognition too but unfortunately people just get to remember the vocalists, not the person behind those hauntingly beautiful lyrics….for example many folks know the song “it’s all coming back” by CelineDion, “Total Eclipse Of The Heart” by Bonnie Tyler, “Making Love Out Of Nothing” by Air Supply but have never known Jim Steinman was the greatest writer behind those timeless songs. Sad but true. As a poet who has written many lyrics and now looking for a vocalist to bring them to life, it kinda hurts knowing few will remember me in ages to come.
Meat loaf’s ballads always felt so much more regal than the other players in the rock scene. This is quite evident from the entire orchestra setup behind him for his live performances.
Watching this in 2023. Need this to soothe my aching heart. Beautiful performance. Passion and theatrical. This is true music. The silence and intensity between both of them after she sings “sooner or later, you’ll be screwing around” They def don’t make performances like this anymore. RIP Meatloaf and thank you for your beautiful voice ❤
I turned 60 this month July 2024 and I am STILL in awe with his presence. Just like my first listen to Bat out of Hell in 1977 when his voice gave me goosebumps then, it still does today. Jim Steinman and Meat are the preverbal "Yin to Yang" and one without the other is, well... Meatless Meatloaf (pun totally intended). Godspeed to them both!!! Like a Bat out of HELLLLL!!!
He was great brings back my teenage days bit there's one other band that hsve always stood our for me and that's bon jovi who o may say are also brilliant live
RIP Meat and Jim. Watching in September 2024. I watched an interview about an audition that was Meat’s big break. His voice was so powerful the people listening felt the building shaking.
God this man is great he doesn't just sing the song he becomes the song no one will ever come close to him what a legend lm 62 years old and you got me though life tough times thank you GREATMAN RIP
I never noticed before that he told her good job when they hugged. The most magical thing about Meatloaf is he aspired to be an actor. He barely had an acting career. He has some movies under his belt. A few memorable and more not. Again the magical part is he imagines a character for each album and he puts himself in that character when doing the songs. This is why is up there as one of the best performing artists. He and Freddie Mercury are on top in that category in my opinion.
It destroys its validity!! They don’t make them like this anymore. Beautiful voice and great performances. Now bands are inducted in no time and he gets left out. It sucks!!!!!!
If you read the list of names in that place you quickly discover that they stole the sign from the actual Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. Meatloaf maybe isn't "rock & roll" enough for them (lol), but he certainly would be the first induction, with Jim Steinman, to the Rock Opera Hall Of Fame. Even The Who wasn't as successful with Tommy.
I will always mourn the fact that I never got to see him perform live... Simply one of the greatest rock performers of all time. Him and Jim Steinman in combination was lightning in a bottle. Alchemy and magic
imagine being there experiencing this. he wasnt just a brilliant singer he was an all round brilliant entertainer and he never lost his self respect or respect for others. RIP Meat Loaf. Legend
Meat Loaf was one of those that looked like me and normal, run-of-the-mill, not so pretty guys....yet his performances, writing, voice and pure talent way more than made up for it. When a not-so-pretty guy makes it this big and is so well-known and international... you know there was tons of talent involved. Dude is legend and his performances were original and epic! Rest In Piece Mr. Loaf....you'll be missed brother...but not forgotten.
@@jennablack3136 , I'll trust your judgment on that one. Lol! I guess I see that he's not the "boy band" type that gets big off looks instead of talent. Meat was a big time talent and sadly, a big time loss for the world now.

Listening to this in 2022. Just so incredible. The power, the emotions, the vocals. Thank you to ML (RIP) and the entire stage. All of you are simply spellbound amazing.
I discovered Meatloaf when Bat Out of Hell 2 came out. I was 13 and just going through so much shit. I have this memory riding in the car with my mom, my head resting against the window watching things go by. I was in my own world listening to that album on my discman. Rock n Roll Dreams is playing and two lines stand out, the "you've been through the fires of hell..." and "you're never alone cause you can put on the phones..." I can't say enough how important this music was to me in my life at that time, and even though time has moved on, it will always have a special place in my heart. Love to all, and RIP to Meatloaf and Jim.
Me too!!! And life is like a lemon. But then my mum let me listen to Bat out of Hell. (The song) and on vinyl. The intro guitar that sounded like a motorbike came straight out of the speakers. So awesome

@@carlettecannon8716 fast forward. It is the 29th of June. I think, if I recall correctly, until this morning, the only video I ever saw of his was 'Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through.' Fell asleep listening to Home Free, and surfaced, thinking, oh, no they didn't! Then I realized, nope, I hear real instruments, no beat boxer. And I just basked in that voice, the music, then started to drift back off as first, I Won't Do That was followed by Rock and Roll Dreams... and got jarred awake again... by an orchestra? The heck? And his performance was insane, and magic, and people just still have no idea what we lost. *THIS* was Rock opera; The Who's 'Tommy' was a concept album by comparison.

Freddy Mercury was the greatest showman in rock history... But meatloaf wasn't far behind. An incredible performance...
And elvis
Meat loaf’s ballads always felt so much more regal than the other players in the rock scene. This is quite evident from the entire orchestra setup behind him for his live performances.
Watching this in 2023. Need this to soothe my aching heart. Beautiful performance. Passion and theatrical. This is true music. The silence and intensity between both of them after she sings “sooner or later, you’ll be screwing around” They def don’t make performances like this anymore. RIP Meatloaf and thank you for your beautiful voice ❤
Also watching in 2023 from Ireland 🙂 this masterpiece will never die, never 🙋🏻♂️
Are you ok? It's been a hard time for us all.
Just amazing the delay says everything he gave us that song but it was song for someone special very close to his heart
With you my bro
Watching this in 2024 and still sobbing like nothing else. Nobody else sang like this.
You can just feel his emotion on stage, every performance, every time. few artists deliver this kind of feeling live.
Agree with you 100% all the way from Baton Rouge Louisiana 2022 please be safe and careful 😅😅😅🫂🫂🫂
Sorry, he missed it with this one.
BONO is the same too!!!
He was great brings back my teenage days bit there's one other band that hsve always stood our for me and that's bon jovi who o may say are also brilliant live
Patti and Meat were great together. The perfect duo. And she is gorgeous.
This was an excellent performance. Thank you very much for posting.
His other back up singer was His adopted Daughter Pearl Aday. They were brilliant!
They were my favorite duo.
@@saxyben81 i liked when aspen miller was with him during the 3 bats live performance
@@gbmruk123 that was good as well. I am just a big patti fan.

Just awesome. Never to be equalled.
Also in Nov ...😅👍👍
Freddie Mercury and Meatloaf gone, there is nothing to replace rhem..tragic
real talent. no auto tune. no lip sync. just pure talent. everyone on that stage.
yes "no auto tune. no lip sync", that was music before the 2000s: it was called "music"
Sadly, but true, we,all, are living in a poor World where REAL music and TRUE Artists are no longer among us! RIP Meatloaf!!
😪😪😪😪😪
😢😢
😢😢😢
The bat just flew into Heaven-Sing to the Angels!! RIP!
Class singer and won't ever be replaced and he will live forever. God bless you.
Does anyone know what the thing he won't do is? I have never figured it out. Thankyou.
RIP Meat and Jim. Watching in September 2024. I watched an interview about an audition that was Meat’s big break. His voice was so powerful the people listening felt the building shaking.
What a heartbreakingly beautiful performance. You’ll be missed here MeatLoaf.
God this man is great he doesn't just sing the song he becomes the song no one will ever come close to him what a legend lm 62 years old and you got me though life tough times thank you GREATMAN RIP
I still get goosebumps after all these years. All hail Marvin Lee Aday. RIP. Meat and Steinman, best collaboration in music history.
I lost my dad in 2002 at 16, but all thanks to him I have always had a love and appreciation for Meatloafs music! RIP daddy and Meatloaf❤️❤️🔥
Hi Sheila, how are you
Bless you sweetheart ❤️
Sorry for your loss, they both are with our lord now.! Entertaining him
IBVANG KLASZE . . .
OKEY sa ALRIGHT .....
Queen had the best performance at the 1985 Live Aid just because Meat Loaf wasn't there..
Let's not forget the incredible writing of the man who also made these songs possible...the late great Jim Steinman 👏
Rest in peace guys.
Word
Amen to that.
An amazing pair.
We are all very fortunate that they happened to find one another.
I saw him in '94.... he gave it all and he let it all out. Thanks a million Meat for the music and the memories.
IMHO the fact that this man is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame reduces the validity of that place.
Rest in peace Meat - one of the worlds greatest performer - you are missed
One of the best ballad singers of the 80's and 90's. You can always feel the emotion in his songs. He put his heart and soul into his songs.
His first name is not "Meat" lol

FENOMENAL PERFORMANCE! When Patti comes is this turns into an epic theatre play! Absolutely Fenomenal!

December 2024… meatloaf will never get old… ❤️
What’s everyone’s favourite ??
Its so sad we lost him to Covid 😢😢😢😢😢😢
@ it was but what a legacy he left behind with many years of amazing music that will never age….
A true natural talent. So sorry to lose him. Bigger than life, beautiful vocals, roll on big man, roll on to heavens gates.😥
🫂🫂🫂😔😔😅😅 never will be forgotten 👌💕😁
Hi Louise, how are you doing
Meat Loaf was one of those that looked like me and normal, run-of-the-mill, not so pretty guys....yet his performances, writing, voice and pure talent way more than made up for it. When a not-so-pretty guy makes it this big and is so well-known and international... you know there was tons of talent involved. Dude is legend and his performances were original and epic! Rest In Piece Mr. Loaf....you'll be missed brother...but not forgotten.
I think he’s super attractive here, first thing I thought was wow he aged well. Got more handsome as role went on. He’s the whole damn package lol
@@jennablack3136 , I'll trust your judgment on that one. Lol! I guess I see that he's not the "boy band" type that gets big off looks instead of talent. Meat was a big time talent and sadly, a big time loss for the world now.
He was all that, plus a side of mental instability lol. Though i think all the great performers are mental or emotionally unwell.
@@jennablack3136 same
He was a legend rock singer not to be forgotten
Bought one of the greatest albums ever made when it first came out. Bat out of Hell. What a time to live. And even all the years later, holy sh!t, what a performer. Quality, not quantity.
So awesome
This man should have been in the music hall of fame
The best performance of this song I have ever seen. Brilliant.
He’s sooooo engaged with his fans ! Love it ! Listen to the crowd !!!! How amazing !!!! The fans were his true love 😊

Meant Loaf Is So Cool 😎
One of the best performances of this song. He plays with my emotions - up and down and up again. Love Meat Loaf. And good camera movements, too. I am sometimes so embarrassed by the bad camera not showing Meat when he's acting on stage.
Agree absolutely
You know this is January the 28th 2022 sad to say this is my first time seeing this but I'm loving every moment of it he is the great one that can sing beautiful songs that touch your heart 🥰🫂💕
He said in an interview that wasn't act and that he had genuine anxiety over performing the song and the band was briefed to repeat the last few bars of the intro until he finally starts singing RIP Meat legend.
It's great that we were able to experience this time! I am now 76 years old and waiting to die. I have cancer that is no longer treatable. The music of the 60s/70s helps me a lot in my last days or weeks. There will never be such a great time again!!

Hi Shona, how are you doing today?
Amazing singer, artist, actor, but most of all he was an amazing man. I don’t tend to get attached to people I don’t even know, but I’ve felt a very strong connection to Meatloaf for some time now. I wish all the best for his family, especially during this time.
What a act ,what a performance,the drama,the voice,the suspence at the start,meatloaf brilliant.
The drama at the end ,the whole audience rooting for you meatloaf.

Fun fact for you & your daughters. The very statuesque backing vocalist in long black dress and incredible waves of curly hair is in fact, Pearl Aday who called Meatloaf "daddy" by virtue of being his (step) daughter! Your family is spending time with Meatloaf's family as you watch, and that's pretty damn great isn't it?

He gave us his all . . .

A showstopper--great lyrics and music. Meatloaf sets it all up with his voice and theatrics-but when Patti comes in with that great voice the place explodes. She's a looker too.
Who can sing like him? No one. The song The Day the Music Died, well that day is here.
Freddy Mercury...The both of them were UNIQUE and different but together what voices!!!
