Parsi is a peacefull community living in India from centuries.Parsis easily got mixed in Indian culture. Parsis has a lot of contribution in India's development in Arts,Science,Technology,Industrialization, Politics etc. Mumbai's first mayor was a Parsi Ferozshah Mehta.Sadly Parsi population is decreasing.
LOVED it!! As a Parsi, from Bombay who has spent most of my life in the US, it pleases me to see non Parsis speak highly of us. Religion should unite people in worship, but it has been the most divisive factor throughout history, simply because of competition, coercion, & conversion. Three things that the Parsi community has avoided, because Zoroastrians are proud of their faith, but do not compare it to other faiths or compete. Converting simply means: "my faith/religion is better than yours so welcome aboard" That is not only antagonistic, but wrong. I truly believe it's not the religion but the people who follow the religion that represent or misrepresent it. People often talk of our religion going extinct - but it has survived the test of time & may not have grown rapidly, but growth takes place gradually. Zoroastrianism will continue to be a force to contend with. A gentle force that does not interfere, invade, encroach on others, but stands tall & strong on merrit. Good thoughts, good words & good deeds. A lot easier said than done, but our motto!! Cooperation over competition, gratitude over greed, & good intentions over good impressions are what KARMA favors, and as long as Parsis continue on this path, they will last - Numbers don't matter, because it is quality not quantity that matters, after all. The Parsee community is a very small when compared to other communities but what a constrast they have brought to the society and India on the whole. The Tatas contribution to India is just monumental and stands apart. Gen.Sam Manekshaw is an exceptionally great military leader who was and is an inspiration to the future generation. Dadabhai Naoroji was a Parsi intellectual, educationist, cotton merchant and early political and social leader of British India. He is called the 'old man of India'. From 1892 to 1895 he was a member of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom.

I am really fortunate to have surrounded by such wonderful Parsis. I have also had my school in Parsi school which was established in 1856. Madresa high school which is funded by Sir Cowasji Jehangir. After Mumbai my city Navsari has huge Parsi population. I m really proud that i have learnt under their guidance.

Their contribution towards India's industrialization is beyond measure. They were persecuted out of Iran and have repaid India

My forefathers too migrated to India. We are Sayyid Shia Muslims(trace our lineage to Prophet Muhammad)and we started migrating when Shia persecution was being performed by Ummayads, Abbasids, Ottomans in middle East. Gradually we move to Iran from Saudi and from Iran-to- South Asian region....
Mughals, Ghaznavids, Ghurids, Tughlaqs, Khiljis everyone persecuted us too in India and Pakistan....

A Parsi lady with her African daughter (I think she was married to an African) came to repair her sandles. As we were waiting, we started talking. She introduced her daughter to me saying that she has just came from the airport.
There was a drunk guy lying beside repair man. He asked that lady for some money. She was about to give him money but suddenly she realised that he is gonna buy liquor again with that money. She told me to ask him that she can buy him food if he wanted. Moreover she generously paid the repair man. She was very kind Parsi woman.

Their old principles of taking care of fellow humans as well as themselves ,must have had a helping hand through history so that their culture could survive the barbaric invasions(of any kind) even far away from their motherland.

I was in relation with a Parsi girl, true she was super rich and gorgeous but out of the blue, she broke up and called off our relationship because her parents were against it. It pains me to think of it that they were so progressive and had an important position in society still no marriage outside religion!
I miss our time together it's hard to move on but yeah it's life and it's beautiful.

When I read history, I see that Indian Parsis have always remembered their Iranian compatriots in times of need, for example, in the same corona virus that passed, Indian Parsis gave a large amount of vaccines to the people of Iran. When I found out about this for the first time, I became very emotional and cried. I deeply believe that one day our country, Iran, will be freed from the hands of the Arab demons who have taken over Iran's sovereignty for a thousand years and are making the people of Iran suffer, and all of us Persians will unite again and build our Ahurai country.

Dear Dhruv. First the name is Zarathushtra. The Greeks called it Zoroaster or 'star gazer'. We Parsis are from Parsa, the lower part of today's Iran - touching the sea. The other two were Parth and Madhya, or Media. Aryans adopted Mazdayasni accepting the idea of Monotheist although continuing with the ancients reverence to the stars and planets. Zarathushtra was from Media and a Magi, descended from the family of Zamad Agnis. His berth was at Merv - today in Kajistan - in Sogdiana, the country between the rivers of Amur and Sir Daria, ( today known as a very holy place called SUGD ) and hence he was NOT an Iranian. Again his era is determined to be around 7 to 8 thousand B.C. and not 600 B.C. as the Europeans say.
