    According to the treaty of London the Kingdom of Spain won the Anglo-Spanish war of 1585 to 1604!😀

    We won anyway.
    We defeated the counter armada the following year 1589.
    The Spanish empire kept ruling the overseas for 3 centuries

    What about the British counter Armada in 1589 that was also humiliated?

    A thing that happened after the Spanish armada retreat was the counter-armada sent by Elizabeth with Drake to try to conquer Coruña, Lisbon and some western islands that I can't remember the name of them, it was supposed that Drake died retreating to those islands [thinking a way to conquer the main island before it was too late] while trying to run from the disastrous naval campaign it resulted and the Iberian naval ships that were tracking him down, this story was silenced due to the damage it could have made to the England Queen's status and obviously, if drake really survived, it is said he was very conditioned by this naval campaign as he lost his permission to command or use a ship for some time (meaning years)

      sry, i messed up myself, the western Islands and the Canary islands are from another naval thingy from Drake, that's where he died, it was while commanding the expedition of 1595 with Hawkins.

      Isnt it wierd how only the English seem to be able to silence their worst defeats, that doesnt happen with France or Spain

    A lot of native Americans genocides in the USA would have been avoided.

      @@John_Smith.Of course yes. While the british and later the americans made a almost complete extermination of the local natives of America, the spanish kingdom didn't only not allow their slavery or killing them, but they mixed with them. The proof is todays population, while in america most of population is white (directly imported from europe) most of hispanic-america is half blood between natives and europeans (as well as brazil, cuz portugal did pretty the same as spain in america) There are reports of native americans fleeing from the US to spanish-americans borders scaping from american autorithies to avoid extermition, and the spanish authorities wellcomed all of them

      @@Anglo_johnson first of all there is no such thing as "human races" but ethnicall groups
      Second, why would be wrong mixing people? I don't know if its wrong or not, but surely is far better than making a genocide like the americans did or the british did all arround the globe

    Interesting, I wonder how the French Revolution or democratic ideals would play out in this scenario, especially since Spain and France would dominate and rule through absolutism

      Social revolutions would likelly still happen anyways. Maybe not in the same places, years or by the same people. But they would eventually happen.

    5:39 As a Malaysian Singaporean guy, that would result in me being Catholic instead of being Protestant and me having a Spanish name instead of an English name. This would also probably result in my first language being Spanish instead of English being my first language in this current timeline

    If the Spanish Armada did win and travelled up to Scotland, they would have still had problems with pirate's like my great clan the MacNeils of Barra which no nationality was safe from them and our famous pirate Laird Ruari the Turbulent also known as the last of the Vikings and the noisy.

    Philip was also angry about the fact that his ships were being attacked by Drake and other English pirates. In fact, the Spanish stole gold from the American natives and then the English stole the gold from the Spanish ships. There was a lot of stealing at that time. In some ways, I quite like the idea of Spanish styled villas in England rather than the ugly Victorian and terraced houses that exist throughout the country.

    • @spanishmapper5521
      @spanishmapper5521 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First off, there was no stealing, at least not the way thought, as you cannot steal something that is already yours. The Spanish implemented a decree called "Royal fifths", in which out of all the extracted minerals, an 80% was to remain in America and develop the area, building universities, hospitals, etc, and the remaining 20%, was sent back to Spain. If you look a bit more into detail, you'll see that economically, New Spain and La Plata were far richer than the peninsula by the 18th century, partly because of this. Although, yes, it is true and proven that Drake stole more Spanish gold than their ships could hold.
