So many golf vlogs are: here I am, here's my distance, here's my club, etc...which I like! But this is a love story. The reverence paid to these old courses, and the game of golf, is just such a pleasure to watch. Wonderful work.
One of the reasons I have been playing more golf in the lock down is finding this channel and adventures in golf. I just want to play this stunning courses. EAL you showcase these landscapes amazingly well.
Thoroughly enjoying these Scotland videos! The whole country is a bucket list item for me. Machrihanish is the golf course that probably ranks top of the list for Scottish golf. St. Andrew's of course, but getting on is a punt and it's probably crowded. I really want to get a good sense of the history of the game and rural golf is such a big part of it. Eagerly looking forward to the next one - thanks!
I think Scotland likes you Erik as the weather is generally very kind to you ! Yes it was windy but most of the time you get it dry ! A former work colleague told me about Arran and now I can add these to that trip. Another beautiful place you've visited and sold to me !
Loved Mach old. Played it in violent winds but what fun hitting 4 irons just over 100 yards. We drove from Glasgow and as T.S Eliot put it, the journey, not the destination matters.....what a journey but what a destination. Great vid. 👍
Cannot believe how great the weather was for your Scottish golfing adventures! I live in Scotland have only played Machrihanish once and it was howling with wind and rain
Stunning places, amazing protagonists. Always enjoy your videos! And I love Scotland, unfortunately have to delay my next whisky and golfing stay until calmer times. The Machrie on Islay is on my bucket list, and these are on it now, too.
I'm so happy that you played and enjoyed these wonderful courses in such a beautiful, if slightly inaccessible, part of Scotland. I see that you are playing Dunaverty too next time - a quirky one-off gem with stunning views and one of my favourite places to play golf anywhere.
Living in Scotland, I have had the pleasure of going for a two and a half hour drive round to play both Machrihanish and Machrihanish Dunes (on different occasions). I loved them both, although I do have to say that I think that the older course is the better of the two. Loving the vlogs. Long may they continue Erik. 😊👍🏌️⛳️
Makes me want to go back. Played Mac Dunes and Old Mac back to back in the same day and had a blast. Definitely not super easy to get to but totally worth it. I’d recommend hitting Shiskine On the way there or back if you have time.
Did you play all the holes? The 5th , the 8th , the 10th, the 12th and the devilish 15th are just so much fun. The wind makes the 4th quite a challenge - it can alternate between a 6 iron and a lop-wedge. This course just plays in a thousand different ways subject to what the Atlantic weather generator decides to throw at you. Go and enjoy the challenge
@@RandomGolfClubFilms Thanks and that's good to know I'm not the only big softy for this game and one day I plan to play them all. I want to thank you and the entire crew for bringing this excellent production to the masses. I know from experience this is not easy and takes a great deal of effort and LOVE...and it shows!
I know you didn't ask me but, I really want to play Lofoten ever since I saw your video on that course. My wife and I are planning our next vacation around how we get there!
Loving this series so far Erik and great to see Tom Coyne’s views on the Mack courses and location. Would love to play a round with you sometime (I beg everyone, even old TC too 🤣) but probably never gonna happen. BTW as you seem to carry your clubs all the time, what’s in the bag? I’ve started carrying to improve fitness and switch between odds / evens but not settled on ideal set up yet. Good luck with the rest of the series. Duncan aka diDprojects. 💥🏌️♂️♥️
I thought Alexandra played a lot of Irish links? She acts surprised when you hit over a green and also upset about cross winds and blind shots. This is part of the fun.
Ryan Sheehan honestly, in Britain most people knew he was a self entitled, unempathetic , twat. Now we suspect he may be self entitled, unempathetic twat that was friends with a paedophile, slept with underage women, and sees nothing wrong with any of that.
Ryan Sheehan ... With the name of “Randy Andy” way back in the 80's us “minions” always suspected.. I bet other clubs associated with him have been distancing themselves for quite some time now🤣🤣
I just don't understand how you get all these aerial shots without other players on the course. Are you reserving the entire place to yourself or is it that dead over there in the UK?
I have the same questions lol. Because sometimes when I play golf I see drones up ahead but I never see a course without anyone because if there aren’t players, there’s most likely going to be maintenance workers
Why does it seem that when the Scots are talking they appear to be telling an inside joke or underlying funny? Enjoying the accents and the contours of Scotland! What an opening hole!

Absolutely love this Scotland Diaries series! These courses are 100% on my bucket list
Which is #1 on your list?
Really love these Videos with Alexandra, please keep doing them in this style
Love watching Alexandra swing

Absolutely beautiful views and play! Thanks for the video Erik and Alex!
Thank you for supporting our videos and taking the time to leave a comment!
Perfect weather, sandy beach and tropical blue sea.... and golf in Scotland. I just saw a glimpse of heaven 😎🙏😊
Alex’s swing is so smooth.

Awesome shots of the course and scenery
You had like the best weather anyone ever had in Scotland!

If this turns out to be my job, even if it’s just me and I have to do everything, I would love it. Keep up the good work!
Another brilliant episode. Living in Scotland but discovering these courses on here!
Thrilled to have helped you discover some new courses!
Great course played it many of a time
The editing of the wind is so damn impressive in this video.
Amazing content, I am loving this series. As a local is great to see our courses showcased in this way. Keep up the great work! :)
Great episode, wind was challenging , that opening looked tough !
Awesome place. Well worth the trip along the long and winding road. Play Shishkine on the way there. You won’t regret it.
Love the videos mate; you really do a great job whether it's play or interviewing and you seem a top lad too
Watching in the UK
Keep it up 👊🏻⛳
love these course vlogs
Love the 70s Super 8 style over exposed film. Bringing a little Cali cool to Scotland!
Makes me want to go back. Played Mac Dunes and Old Mac back to back in the same day and had a blast. Definitely not super easy to get to but totally worth it. I’d recommend hitting Shiskine On the way there or back if you have time.
Be sure to check out Durness Golf Club the next time your in Scotland, stunning course!
Spot on Vid as always Erik. I was supposed to play in May but c-19 put a stop to that. I will make it this year.
It's well worth the trip out there! Were you planning to play some other courses as well?
Nice ending with the abrupt outro cutout and just the sweet sound of contact.

RGC is collectively living out our golf dreams
Good video but Please ensure to adjust the volume: transition from dialogue to music almost blew up my speakers! 🤦🏽♂️
Right? yeah balance your audio!
I agree, I was going to comment about this but you said it better then I would have.
Thank you Erik for the love....
Alexandra for the win!
You'll have a million followers before you know it mate. Content is top quality
Links Golf is the best Golf ever.
Audio editing on this episode is rough.
It’s because of the winds
I dont understand why there not a of likes on this .its worth 4k 🏴👊🏻
Probably the horrible audio balance.
Great content but the differences in audio between the clips and music is hard to sit through.
I'm watching from Islay! Excited to see if you enjoyed the Machrie ✌
Some good attempts at the pronunciations of certain places in this series haha. Love the content
Coyne! The legend
Great video and cool course! Idk about the "best opening hole in golf" part though...
This episode almost brings tears to my eyes...not sure why. All I know is my heart belongs to links style golf and the courses.
We all feel that, so know you're not alone. There is something so special about these courses, and if you haven't been, we hope one day you get to.

Hit a tee shot over a green is pretty cool. Haven't done that before.
I have .. just not on purpose.
L1quidCourage 😂👏🏼
I dream of playing courses like this.
What are some of your top bucket list courses that you dream of playing?
I know you didn't ask me but, I really want to play Lofoten ever since I saw your video on that course. My wife and I are planning our next vacation around how we get there!
@@RandomGolfClubFilms Royal Liverpool - Pebble - Prestwick my list is already so long.. Thanks for adding another!
@@RandomGolfClubFilms right now its the country club here in Owensboro lol! its a private course
Audio issues Amigo. But, beautiful course!
Where'd you get your floral club cover?

Alexandra - wow.
You two would make a great team together.
Watching YT’s attempt at subtitling this is highly entertaining.
Would love to see the trajectories tracer
I wouldn’t be bragging about being mates with Prince Andrew personally 😂
Made me cringe
When we can actually go visit there against, it will be so much sweeter! I can’t wait!
Where is Alexandra's shirt from?!
Dunaverty is a hidden gem.
You will love golf on Islay.
Eric,,, any chance can you smooth out the volume? It's very poor editing to have the volume all over the place.
To be honest, both golf clubs should be honored to be mixed up with eachother. Fantastic courses both.
I would say that Portstewart in Northern Ireland (between Castlerock and Portrush), has the best opening hole in golf.
What happened to the audio
Wind
What brand is her shirt?
I thought Alexandra played a lot of Irish links? She acts surprised when you hit over a green and also upset about cross winds and blind shots. This is part of the fun.
hey Erik have you played shinnecock?
Erik if you don’t mind are you and Alex still together anymore?
Imagine being proud that Prince Andrew was associated with your club. That won't age well.
to be fair, this was quite clearly shot some time ago, it may have been before all of the allegations fully came to light
I bet other clubs associated with him have been distancing themselves for quite some time now🤣🤣
LOL , he opened the clubhouse at Peebles as well in the 90s
Are you currently in Scotland or was this previously recorded?
Definitely previously recorded. I think erik might have stolen the sun and taken it back to the States with him.
I just don't understand how you get all these aerial shots without other players on the course. Are you reserving the entire place to yourself or is it that dead over there in the UK?

playing shiskine twice tomorrow
In fairness, I haven't played Machrihanish, but I have to say that #1 at Sheep Ranch at Bandon Dunes is the best opening hole I've ever seen.
It's definitely up there
Why does it seem that when the Scots are talking they appear to be telling an inside joke or underlying funny? Enjoying the accents and the contours of Scotland! What an opening hole!
The first hole for Prince Andrew is definitely before 18
I would like to learn more about young Tom Morris... a
Why did you change the channel name?
Prince Andrew didn’t break a sweat when he went off the harder tee
My Man, can I join you for a Random Golf Trip to Ireland? My clubs and passport are clean
Title is invalid - as the greatest first tee shot is Merion East, with the membership looking on from the patio..
Maybe that corner of thebeach is not somewhere to take your kids for a picnic!
It's damn near distracting how into Erik Alexandra is but oh MY do I ship it
you gotta talk to whoever you have mixing your audio
This is probably the worst(imo) RGC/Erik video I have seen.... and it is still amazing.
Great video but subtitles would help with those Scottish brogues
Islay = I LAH
EAL is definitely a LOTR fan. "Climb up Mordor to get to the second green" - LOL.
W
I'm just wondering if Alex and Erik are a thing...
Her swing looks like a video game swing.
Eye-La
I disagree with the title. The best opening hole is always the first one you play regardless of location.
Bet the captain regrets mentioning Prince Andrew 😬
Erik my guy, you need to smash 🤤👌🏻 girls like that are a unicorn, lots of love a Scottish golfer
Take out the Prince Andrew bit. Or say, ‘this course beat the hell out of him ‘.
Great video just terrible sound, the music is so loud when it comes in and the talking is so soft.
Hate to be that guy, but isn't it "eye-lah"
The levels on the audio are all over the place. Overlay music is too loud comparable to the speaking audio. Hard to watch when volume is up and down.
Price Andrew... awkward
Had a blast on this course last year! th-cam.com/video/xqSZiB752nw/w-d-xo.html
Dam that woman is beautiful
