Always enjoy your reactions Gordon and the wealth of information you bring to the table. You're so right about the volume of great music we were so blessed to have experienced throughout the late 60's to late 70's. It was so prolific, in fact, that I think we all took it a bit for granted thinking it would never end but would only get better. This song, (and so many others from that time) catapults me back to that time and I can remember exactly where I was and what I was doing. Thanks for helping us older folks to feel a little bit younger again.

Yay ! My fave Ambrosia song ! I remember first hearing David Pack's voice through "Biggest Part of Me" and deciding needing to hear more. Great choice !

This was my wife's and my "love song": our song. I was in college and she worked in admissions. I got a free ride. It was a state college and she had incredible bennies. I miss you, Darlin'.

I'm with you brother. I was 15 in 75. Class of 78. There never be a time like that again. The quality of music flowing out of the radio was unbelievable.

I'm now an old Boomer, but I completely understand our music, our messages, and our liberating dances to classic rock. Hopefully, some of the younger ones will tune in and have an epiphany. Stay the course; there's more here than you can exhaust

Great track, good song choice. That band went full circle; they started as prog, went pop, then finished their career in '82 with a Bob-Ezrin produced proggish record called Road Island, featuring the fantastic, "For Openers, Welcome Home..." Holdin' On To Yesterday" did not get much airplay here in NYC if I remember correctly. That debut album is possibly the most underrated record in music history. I saw Pack in 2002 with the "A Walk Down Abbey Road" tour featuring him, Alan Parsons, Todd Rundgren, John Entwistle, & Ann Wilson. Great show.

That Abbey Road tour must’ve been amazing. I’ve never seen David Pack perform…the year Ambrosia opened for the Doobie Brothers (78 or 79?) was the one Doobies tour I missed, so I never got to see Pack live. What a talent. Glad to hear you enjoyed that debut album as much as I did. Thanks for watching, Eric!

Like you I know exactly when and where I got this album, summer before my senior year in college, working on Nantucket, bought it simply because of the cover and was more than astonished at what I heard when I dropped the needle onto the first track, stellar recording! "Nice, Nice, Very Nice" got considerably more airtime as I recall, as beautiful as this track is “Lover Arrive” but you already know there just isn’t a bad track on the entire album, for me it is as great a debut release as Boston had. Love their second album as well, ran out to purchase it when it was released and both are still part of my playlist today, “And…Somewhere I Never Travelled” is perfection to my ears as well.

Betsey, it’s immensely gratifying to know there is even one person who experienced that album in real time, as I did, and came away with a similar impression. So many cool songs…you mentioned Lover Arrive, which was great. I always loved Drink Of Water, and Time Waits For No One, among all the others. Thanks again for watching and commenting!

Toto was another excellent pop / rock band from about the same time.

One more comment, if I may . . . Your face says it all. When you hear a classic, you are connected.
