  • ipega project diva mini controller mod. Replacing their GREETECH black switches with cherry MX reds because their switches keep dropping inputs for some reason.
    What you'll need:
    - A soldering iron
    - A solder sucker
    - Solder
    - 4 switches of your choice (anything that works better than greetech lol)
    this would've been fine if it wasn't such a dumpster fire

    I was thinking of picking one up for travel purposes but this sold the deal on saving my money. I also already have a divaller too.

    I just lubed the switches and replaced the spring with 150g, that feels much more correct than stock. I had also filled the button domes with silicone (and also the rest of the case l m a o), so the extra weight made the stickiness worse. I think these switches should've come with stock 150g springs ^^;

    So im considering buying one of these and either doing one of two things
    I found that project diva actually supports multiple controller inputs as player one. Im torn on the idea if simply scrapping the housing for this, and essentially cramming the entire controller inside a fight stick to use the slide bar alongside another controllers buttons, or else actually cramming it all into a custom housing and soldering larger sanwa buttons to the keyboard switch solder points.

    i noticed a thing, the version of ps4 inside of him is super different of switch version, i bought it right now and i was so excited to open it and got surprised, their have springs and a foam support with it. i touhght needed modify to fix this huge problem that controller has but i dont need to do that.

    I am seriously thinking of getting this controller. I have no problem with the idea of modding it, as you did, but I would like a full explanation and tutorial that tells all you did. Everything in this vid looks great, but it’s all so fast.
    I know that this might mean making another video, but it would be so appreciated. Even if you did show a step-by-step of all that you are doing, I may be able to replicate your process.
    If not, then I can try to figure it out, if I need to, when my controller arrives. Either way, I enjoyed your video and have subscribed to your channel. Thank you so much.

      it's not too difficult to replicate what I've done. Simply open the controller up (you don't need to detach any ribbon cables, but be careful of those) and desolder the existing switches and resolder in new ones. You can find tutorials on how to desolder and resolder mechanical keyboard videos on youtube pretty easily I believe

      @@user-bx9sg1qr9x thank you. I have my controller on the way and will look into desoldering and soldering the buttons. I have modded a lot of fight sticks, so this shouldn’t be too difficult. 😊

      @@user-bx9sg1qr9x so I just got my controller today. Mine is the white one. I am not good with this controller on Project Diva as I am new to the arcade style, but I love it.
      I was surprised by how nice the buttons feel and was wondering why you changed yours. Is it that much of an improvement? I only ask because I just don’t know and I wonder if it would be worth it for me to attempt the same modification.
      Also, mine will not let me use my Switch Lite while being plugged into the wall at the same time. Is there a way to fix this?
      Thanks.

      @@brichan1851 i bought the white version as well, despite having the same model number there are some small changes. mine came with white linear switches instead of blacks, as well as springs. im not versed enough in mechanical keyboard stuff to say if the new switches are an upgrade compared to the ones in the video? but whites DO take waaay less force to activate, meaning you dont have to press as hard for the button hit to register, which seems like itd be a good thing for a game like PD. Reds are lighter than blacks but heavier than whites, so if you like the feel of the stock controller, you may just want to upgrade to nicer MX-compatible whites.

      also i forgot to mention, i have a regular switch and i cant seem to get the thing to work in handheld mode either. i haven't tried with it plugged into an official dock, just a 3rd party one and wall power. very bummed about it since the handheld-dock setup was very appealing to me. the instruction manual does state that you need to go into settings > controllers and sensors > pro controller wired communication ON for the controller to function in handheld mode, so make sure that's on before looking for other solutions.

    I have a weird problem with this thing.... The sticks work normal when I navigate through the switch menu. But when I want to navigate the in game menu the left stick only does down no matter the direction I push it and the right stick only does up no matter the direction I push it.😅 Also no left and right on both sticks in the in game menu. Checked the sticks with Red Dead Redemption and they work totally normal again. So it's the game..... I can only navigate the in game menu with the D-pad. Am I the only one? And when playing a song the sticks do have left and right when I tried them for slide. Very weird!

    So basically, you just swapped out all the switches, and then it works properly now, right? (Aside from the stuff at the end.) Sorry, I wasn't too sure what you found out the issue was in the middle there ^^;
