    I live in the Chgo. area, similar winter weather to Cleveland. I really appreciate your winter wash vids, no pretending in a heated garage as other detailers. Great job, keep up the good work.

    Really good tips. I need to get some of that Preludio. Have heard some good things about that product in both the Alkaline and Acidic versions. It's nice that Labo did the science and research on that product to give a unique added product to any rinseless wash routine. I am loving everything I have from Labocosmetica. It's a great detailing product line up. I also want to get one of those new grit guards. I have been eyeing that thing up since it was released last year. That's a pretty slick design as it incorporates a bunch of different designs into one compact, useful grit guard. My add on piece I got for my original grit guard wasn't great because of the posts that it used to secure it to the bottom piece. They would always fall off when I took it out to clean it. This one piece grit guard is genius! Definitely worth what they are charging for it and with regular cleaning like you mentioned, it should give years of useful service. I am a fan of "one bucket" old style washing with a bucket but I do think a good quality grit guard is essential for minimizing any chance of the dirt getting back into your wash media of choice. I personally love the "noodle" style wash pads for bucket washing. I love using a good quality sponge for rinseless washing. DIY's and The Rag Company Ultra Safe Sponge are the two I am using the most lately. DIY's for heavier dirt, and The Rag Company Ultra safe for light dirt or dust on the paint. I like how you present your topics. Good, honest reviews from someone who actually uses the products rather than a compensated "wink wink" honest review that just hypes up certain products for either paid compensation or kick backs on products which is running rampant across TH-cam. You just don't know what to believe or not believe. I have been duped far too many times and have wasted a LOT of money on products that were true ZONKERS and a complete waste of money or they are just far too overpriced for what they do. I like finding alternative products that work as well (or many times BETTER) than some of the products sold in the detailing community out here. Way too many detailers are trying to profit by coming out with their own copy cat products from some of the more reputable detailing brands. I mean, I don't have an ivy league education or anything but I am slightly educated and it doesn't take a AI science engineer to figure out that 50% of the products related to detailing are complete copy cat products or are just ZONKERS from the get go. I like going to TH-cam channels that are going to give me an HONEST and OPEN opinion of the product they are showcasing like you do here on your channel. That goes a long way for me personally and I suspect for many of the viewing population on TH-cam. Thank you for keeping it real my friend. I hope to see your channel grow by leaps and bounds as time moves forward.

      As a content creator we are all just trying to pay for running the channel at a minimum. For some that's increased business through their detailing business, and for others, it's ad revenue and then the use of affiliate links. So yes, many of us do get kickbacks, as you would put it, but you could buy any product, not necessarily what I review. Let's say I reviewed x brand soap and you were to use my link and discount code to buy an APC and not the soap. I would still earn a few percent for the traffic referral. So there isn't really a massive incentive to always tell someone that a product is great. Just be honest and people will support you. Luckily, very few products these days are bad. Some work better than others, or offer a better value for your dollar, but they're all good. I've been contacted already about demo testing and being supplied with product. As it's winter now I politely declined, but I've sen it reviewed favorably by others, so in the spring, I will likely revisit. I feel as long as I'm honest about the process, people can make up their own mind. End of day, I just want to weed out stuff that works better or worse for people and give my experience.

    That paint looks clean compared with mine after driving to and from Erie!
    I prefer to use Bilt Hamber Touchless for the pre--rinse on crusty deposits. It is really good at removing dirt. I use a Ryobi 650psi EZClean pressure washer and buckets when the garden hose or bigger pressure washer is not available.
    I also use Rinseless and a towel in the jambs.

    • @TheOutdoorDetailer
      @TheOutdoorDetailer  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That Bilt Hamber seems to be the #1 go to product. I may have to test to see if applying it with a keg sprayer, non foam may yield adequate results. Oh btw, I applied the CLEAN 8 year coating a couple months back. It's crazy how much less sticks to the side of the vehicle with that coating.

    Seasons greetings from the UK. Have been enjoying your content recently so thanks. I have been using Preludio to great effect with a few really good rinseless products and would recommend ADS Adapt as my drying aid of choice. It gives some extra cleaning just in case and leaves some nice gloss, slickness and protection.

      Good stuff! Alternatively, you can also dilute Hero like 15 to one or 20 to one if you don't want protection. Feels similar with a towel.

      What’s your top 3 RInseless washes now you have tried everyone ?

    • @TheOutdoorDetailer
      @TheOutdoorDetailer  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Current top 3 non protection are Nemesis, Hydra, and Ethos Hybrid. CLEAN and Hero round out a top 5 for me, just edging out McKees V2. In reality, I haven't come across a bad one yet. They're all really good and I am basing my opinions on sponge feel, scent, dry off experience, and bucket stability, among a few other criteria. -Things like are the surfactants skin safe, or are gloves absolutely necessary. Nemesis leaves my hands feeling like I had lotion on them, while others make me feel like I have dried out skin, and gloves are a necessity.

    • @Thecardetailingnut
      @Thecardetailingnut หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Still unable to get Nemesis , Hydra, and Clean into UK but do like Ethos Hybrid , Feynlab V3 for Cleaning Power and the new Carbon Collective RW don’t know if you guys have got it over the Pond yet Mike ?

    • @TheOutdoorDetailer
      @TheOutdoorDetailer  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I remember seeing carbon collective somewhere but I didn't look too much into it. That Ethos Hybrid is awesome and I just got another gallon for myself. If you don't have their sponge, it is well worth the price. It holds more water than my Rag Company Sponges do, the cuts are half the depth as almost every other sponge on the market, and the blocks are sized so that there aren't any small shavings on the edge to get stuck in emblems, wiper arms, and other tight places.

    There's no way I'm touching any of that with a rinseless or soap wash. We got the same messy crap up here in Montreal, I simply spray & rinse(Bilt Hamber) during winter months and it gets 90% clean, I will add a rinseless (no -touch) to my process see if it helps or if I'm just wasting product & time. Appreciate the video.

    • @TheOutdoorDetailer
      @TheOutdoorDetailer  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'd love to be able to foam and rinse like that. Still, an alkaline or apc to break down some of that road film really helps the rinseless work.

    Do you try DIY detail ALL CLEAN to do similar things? Compare to the Labocosmetica Preludio Alkaline.

    • @TheOutdoorDetailer
      @TheOutdoorDetailer  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @BrianKwok-369 no, because All Clean is not a rinseless product. If I was using a non rinseless product to pre soak, I would use a high pH soap in a foam canon, or spray with an IK like Labo teaches.

    Yes, the Preludio alkaline and acidic are the new version from Labocosmetica from Primus and Purifica. Yes, I noticed that traffic film too on my grit guard and what I have been doing is use a brush to clean it so it doesn't do that to my sponges

    • @TheOutdoorDetailer
      @TheOutdoorDetailer  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah I waited to clean that one until after the video. Greenstar from KCx diluted 15:1 is an awesome cleaner for that too. I sprayed and it was even coming off with just the pressure from the sprayer. I let it dwell for a minute the used a flag tipped brush with warm water and it is good as new.

    • @1stfrompuertorico568
      @1stfrompuertorico568 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @TheOutdoorDetailer the ones I have used have been Meguiars APC 15:1 or Bilt Hamber Surfex HD 20:1 or Phoenix EOD Kraken 15:1 sprayed, let dwell, agitation with brush and hose it without pressure washer 😜

  • @TheBreakfastLover
    @TheBreakfastLover หลายเดือนก่อน

    I'd suggest something with more pressure than a sprayer to rinse off the panel first. The Ryobi cordless power washer is pretty good. 600 PSI at 0.7 GPM. You can even run rinseless wash thru the Ryobi.

    • @TheOutdoorDetailer
      @TheOutdoorDetailer  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You would be surprised at what low pressure will rinse off a vertical panel. I'm sure you understand what I am saying, but I see some people do a foam and then they rinse with the pressure gun 6" away from the surface and then claim how well the pre foam or soap worked. I can clean concrete by holding a pressure washer 6" away from the surface. lol

    • @TheBreakfastLover
      @TheBreakfastLover หลายเดือนก่อน

      @TheOutdoorDetailer true, although the fundamentals of "chemical rinse chemical" are maintained with the Ryobi.

    I have that grit guard, and I cannot like it. Keeps floating on me in different buckets. Have you had this issue?

    • @TheOutdoorDetailer
      @TheOutdoorDetailer  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Only a little, and when I add a ton of water to a much taller bucket. The only grit guard I've used that doesn't float is the one with the rubber feet along the edges. That sticks in the bottom of the bucket. I think it's detail guardz. I use those when I'm doing regular bucket washes out of 5 gallon buckets.

    • @viperrcr
      @viperrcr หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wound up getting the Detail Guardz Scrub Wall 360 system, nice for this purpose and no floating.

    • @TheOutdoorDetailer
      @TheOutdoorDetailer  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The only issue I've run into with the 360 is that it enclosed the bucket too much. I try to use my mitt on a stick when possible, and they made it just wide enough to fit a bucket, but not one with the 360 system. I have the 180 wall in my normal soap process bucket. Does work great.

    • @viperrcr
      @viperrcr หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can use half of it, 180 or maybe even just one section since it clips to the bottom. That might fit mit on stick, not sure though.

    Dude! What kind of grit guard is that?! That one is way cooler than mine!

    • @TheOutdoorDetailer
      @TheOutdoorDetailer  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is called a Mitt Slide, from Autofiber. www.detailedimage.com/wax.php?id=161996&url=detailedimage.com/Autofiber-M126/Mitt-Slide-P3492/Blue-S2/ Right now Detailed image has a sale going on, as the normal price is kinda high for a grit guard. Autofiber also has sales from time to time so sign up for their email list. The best thing about it is that the wash media really will never get too low in the bucket and require you to get your arms wet to pick up, and its really good for scrubbing off towels.

      @@TheOutdoorDetailer yah, Nemesis is a great Rinseless! I just used the new Carbon Collective Evolve Rinseless and wow!! It’s a cleaning machine! Straight surfactant base! Not bad on the dry off, cause I have a coated car but definitely need a drying aid. Even diluted stronger for a pre soak is soo good.. Definitely get your hands on it if you can, it might be sold out by now tho!
