Just started watching your videos. Great information, glad to see someone sharing some "behind the scenes" info. Laughed my ass off when I noticed the golden balls. Nice touch.
Best welding channel I've ever stumbled upon I recently got into mig welding at work clearly I won't be to this level for a long time but I got the big down just not very pretty going vertical up yet I'm 22 now and plan on buying a tig and learning that next because growing up ive dragraced since jr dragster days and I knew at about 14 I wanted to build tube chassis hotrods similar to my full tube chassis chromoly 71 vega built by Robert nerez at nerez race cars in tuscon anyone can restore a car it takes a real man to cut one up I just haven't had the opportunity to learn welding until recently but I have huge goals and will stop at nothing to get their I'd like to build my first tube chassis by 25
In the 4 years since you made this post I hope you became proficient in your welding skill. I went back to vo tec welding school at 65. Loved TIG, tolerated MIG, really disliked stick w/ a passion. No one would hire an apprentice at 65. Oh well. At 75 I had to have my eyes totally rebuilt so it was just as well I did not become an apprentice.
Tim McAmis Performance Parts That was hysterical, all I can say is, building a kick ass product like you do and being able to joke around and have fun while doing it,, that’s a dream job!! The fact that the owner of the company goes on TH-cam, makes a video with a giant golden yam bag hanging off the front of him and can keeps a total straight face,,, priceless!! 😂😂👍😜
we made one out of 2 i beams. I just need a refference plane that's rigid enough to hammer n weld on. I've done it w wood blocks and a level right off the floor but the area better be secure, a strong breeze will have it fold like a house of cards.
I don’t have the shop to build a chassis but I want to put a frame like this on my 70 charger ! I have the welder but have no place to do massive welding and cutting. What do you charge for a frame + shipping that works on a factory B body Gen 2 Mopar?
Could you create a chassis off the body and be square? Like if you had a rotisserie and flipped the body upside down and build the frame that way? (If body was straight)
I have seen both off road cars Sprintcars and speedway sedans built as described. And pro built ones. That surface plate must be lovely though I would be scared of welding spatter etc mucking it up. Though I have built several car trailers on top of 4 of 44 gallon drums [nice height] on a proper level floor using 2x3 premium 3mm wall and it flexes all over the shop. And that Mig welding. End up with a jack or porta power to widen the gaps to where they are supposed to be or a ratchet strap to pull them in. And yes I tack [fairly heavily] the whole structure as I go. They do however remain square corner to corner with no clamps.
Thanks again Tim for the awesome video, can we get maybe a basic sketch for the jig, I am pumped up after this video. I am going right now to price your chassis kit. Awesome job! Thank you so much!
Not exactly what I was looking for, but still a great help for the project I'm working on! I was wondering how you would even go about welding the pipes together to make the frame of the car, as I'm trying to copy a Warthog from the Halo videogame series... if anyone knows how to do this, please feel free to reply and/or leave a link to a video about it, or just leave me some directions... that would be most helpful!
You would be surprised how easy they are to find. It is a old technique used in the aircraft manufacturing world. I bought a K&E contractors transit back in the early 80s for $100.00 and have used it many times to build big fixtures and car that were on the fixture. Also did some property boundary lines over rough mountain property for my brother. Some people use them to set big machinery in place.
Quick question. Is this just for the chassis or do I build it with being able to put axles up on the jig as well? My project is a Rock Bouncer so its gonna be fairly big wheel base. Thanks..
This is the video that inspired us to make our modular chassis jig Multi-Jig that can fit any type of vehicle and building need.

Tim, what you suggested is exactly what we did, worked great, cut it up when the chassis was finished.
It takes gold balls to build the chassis table! Lol! Great info Tim! Made me laugh!
Those machined steel tables cost over $10k probably $20k. Not including shipping or structure underneath.
@@Ureallydontknow it was a joke man, look between Tim's legs..
You gotta have gold balls lol
didn't see the golden nuts until like 3 minutes hahaha

Just finished my chassis table, couldn't find any balls that massive for my video though. Especially a golden pair, that's fancy.
Whats with this channel that everyone here is serious good people. Not one hater. What a cool community. Thanks so much for the guidance.
What's with the brass balls lol
Who noticed the outtake at 6:38?

Now by god that's a skin satchel! Haha
Who didn't?
That was funny lol
funny as hell!
Tim, thanks for the videos. Great new and refresher information. I always pick up something from watching.
The ending🤣🤣 Tim could you please make a video on fitting tubes at angles that are not coplain and just multi angled and a bit of a headache?
Very informative. That's a sweet looking shop. Do the folks who build sandrail frames use CNC tube benders or is it mostly manually done? Thanks.
How about a pic of that jig you were talking about lol
Just in time. I'm building a similar table for my shop. What is the hole spacing and size on your table?

I love this guy
😂😂😂, the gold truck nuts though..
Hey Tim: does the chassis kit come with the truck nutz, or do those cost extra? Just curious. Great stuff as usual.
oh my god this dude is something special lmao good job tim
Thanks for the advice

lmmfao Stay Golden !
How much do you charge to build a tube chassis for a Ford ranger???
Great video !
Do you do oval track
Where can you weld dirt cars at?

Great video
😂😂😂 thanks for the knowledge and humor!
how much did your setup cost to get it there? I need a price reference for a future supercar frame build haha
Which material it's chassis made of
what materials are the unwelded chassis kits available in? and is there any availability for body styles that aren't listed as an option?
New subscriber!
Awesome channel. I love detail and the more details you go into the better.
🇦🇺🤜🏼🤛🏼🍀🍀🍀😎🤓
Amazing work
ty tim
Is this legal for the street
Just wondering , Do you use solid works or autocad? I use
auto cad for parts cut out of flat plate. I use Sketchup for bending round tube.
Thanks!
Can you build a custom on for me?
Wish you guys made a chassis for a Plymouth duster.
It tool me a good minute to notice the gold balls.
gold fuken balls!!!
Serious tone while giving high quality information, all the while hanging a large pair of gold balls...this guy has an interesting sense of humor lol
sir i want to make this as my university project ....can you provide me the detail drawing of this project
Really helpful info Tim, thanks
Tim has the biggest balls of them all lol
How heavy is that chassis??
3:00 I’ve watched this video several times and there’s something I just noticed

Hilarious! Way cool, thanks
A trapezoid will measure evenly corner-to-corner while being out of square.
Kindorf works great!
Huevos de oro.
What’s with the gold balls
Just seeing who's paying attention.
Patriot.
Wow
Can one of your tables be used to fab up a camera tripod?
#nocoffeeforthecameraguy :D
Lol @ the golden balls
What the f school do I have to go to for a chance to work at that shop
Seriously dude, a transit?
Nothing wrong with a transit. Like anything else it is only as good as the man setting it up!
@@billharriss4463 I was thinking that it's not exactly a common item that everyone has kicking around.

You guys are jokers! lol
Tim just has a better than you attitude that just pisses a guy off!!

FKH !!!!!!
pointless video.
Without a visual demo, it's just someone talking
