- Sir Keir Starmer accused the previous government of a “dereliction of duty” on small boats as he pledged £84 million in foreign aid to help stop irregular migration.
Concluding Thursday’s European Political Community (EPC) summit with a press conference, the Prime Minister also expressed openness to an offshore processing arrangement similar to one agreed between Italy and Albania, saying he was “a pragmatist” who would “look at what works”.
Migration has been a key theme of the conference, hosted by the UK at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, with Sir Keir describing the issue of migrants crossing the Mediterranean and the Channel as “a crisis”.

I am a foreigner living in Britain, so while paying taxes, I can not vote here other than in locals. I must say, however, that I do not get why Brits keep on trying to Americanise themselves to the extent they now seem to think there are just 2 options to vote for. They whine about Tories and vote for the same people, except more anti-British. They even went to school together. It makes no sense. You voted exactly the same thing, only with way worse leader and who hates you much more. Starmer has no personality. No charisma, no pluck, nothing. No ethics of any kind.

Also, I know several Brits personally who vote for them every election, seriously believing they are the party for the working class. Actually, it feels like I only know Labour voters. Nobody else brags about who they vote for. (OK, there were some I saw online who were proudly saying they vote reform for instance, but even that is rare). As to benefits, I can not comment. I am not on benefits and never was, so I have no idea how much they get now or if they were promised more by labour.

@@peterlyall2848 We have what's called 'first past the post' (a really fucked up system). Put it this way, the Liberal Democrats got 5.5 million votes and 71 seats and Reform got 4 million votes and 5 seats.
My point is that the newcomer (Reform) has little chance of impacting because the system is so skewed. The layman -including me- finds it almost impossible to fathom.

The problem starts when a government ignores the ruling of the highest court in our land then starts creating laws in order to break laws especially when they go against the ECHR and us being a. Member of the ECHR then have a huge problem being in breach in order to get it's own agenda across is not what a democracy does accepting the supreme courts ruling is what a democracy does all the reasons why we have to have a ECHR it our protection from the state it prevents them from doing what they would like to do take away ourright .
