In a way we never evolve from stone age. To gather and store is all we know/believe. This man had to answer the same question that seemingly different over and over. Only the mind don't store could do that
Any kind of action with an end goal in mind creates the actor. Here, these meditations are done with a specific end goal/objective in mind, i.e. it therefore is based on thought or desire which inevitably brings in the actor/ego as one says " 'I' am doing it". Although during these meditations the ego maybe temporarily suspended, but it is still recording the experience from the background which creates a memory. Now when the experience ends and the ego awakens, it recalls the experience either being pleasant, a success or a failure or whatever and will decide to initiate the process again later to get that particular experience once again or better perhaps, thereby itself getting stronger each time it initiates something while being in the background. The experience then becomes an instrument of reaffirmation of its own existence. If the dissolution of ego or the self is the final goal, it is only getting inflated & stronger here, isn't it?
Initially, the ego goes out and comes back thru the backdoor of illusory experiences created thru these practices. Trapped in our own trap of limited self. JK did not give sugar-coated speeches; he was bland (like a stark reality) that we don't want to accept. We like romance, get some powers and want to achieve our self-created goals. Almost similar concepts were held by Ramana Maharishi. He emphasized just be ( pure consciousness). He said, " Do not meditate - be ! Do not think that you are - be ! Dont think about being - you are ! " Having said that, if someone has hard time accepting the above ( direct path) then there is nothing wrong with picking up some practice, mantra etc.( just keep a strict watch on ego, not let it come thru backdoor).
He is total truth, but he was also a kind of prodigy at what he speaks. The freedom he speaks of seems very far out of reach for those who are totally conditioned which is most people. Therefore, various types of meditation and yoga can be helpful in reaching a pseudostate of quietness. But eventually this becomes futile as you start to desire the state more and more - your ego takes over.
Transcript Then there is this imported transcendental meditation - mantra yoga. Do you know this? Do some of you do that? Or you are ashamed to acknowledge it. As I said, you ought to export immediately all these things. They are a waste of energy. They bring illusion. You know, the whole idea of mantra yoga, which is transcendental meditation in this country, the whole idea is that through repetition of certain words, first verbally, loudly, then silently, and after reaching a certain point, you take off - whatever that may mean. You can repeat any word, but it’s more romantic if it is a Sanskrit word. It is a word, or a series of words which your teacher, your guru gives to you, in secrecy. You pay for it, and you think you are going to get heaven. You do get heaven, but it’s your heaven invented by you. And they are also adding new, new kinds of yoga, which is kundalini yoga. You’ve heard of that too, I’m sure. Don’t touch any of these things. They are most dangerous. That is, if I may tell you, but if you enjoy illusion, if you enjoy being in a state of hypnotising yourself in the name of God or enlightenment or truth, go to it. And there are various forms of disciplines, and practices, all promising what you want, which is enlightenment, happiness, truth, and so on. That is, you want more and more wider experiences because you’re bored with your daily life. But you see that only a silent mind can observe. Only a silent mind can bring about a complete order. So when you for yourself see the truth that - no system - it doesn’t matter who says it - that any movement of thought must inevitably bring about a division, and therefore conflict, when you see the truth of all this, your mind becomes quiet. To see the truth of all this is to have a quiet mind. Do you understand this? So you see, our difficulty is knowing we live a disorderly life, we are incapable of bringing order into it because we want order according to our contrivance, we want order according to our imagination, according to our pleasure and convenience, and in that field, there is no order at all. If you see that, and to see that, you need a quiet mind. Do you understand?
he is really angry at those subjects he spoke about. But he is right: as India has a long and lasting relationship with religion, people think everything that comes out from there is valid. We know that to get what we call light only will come after a long, enormous work on oneself; you will not be a Jesus, a Buddha, a Nanak, a Krishna, if you do not have a powerful instruction, solid embasement. Besides that, the mental trash, that came with the MD´s (blindness factors) became huge and cristalised. So if you want something real, we know that those things are not in the market, as the poor American people think, they are not available to the population. The last resource is, in order not to be tricked, is one start to work on oneself.
There are many paths that can help us, point is, we must enjoy it and have discipline about it. The solution is very simple. You must find efforlessly your inner silence. This can be found only when you notice you are not the mind. All the Masters point to this; you must find the kingdom of Alla,Kingdom of God, TAO, Brahman,Buddha,'s face and on. The man is too old, he is ready to know the Truth. Sit quietly , observe your thoughts, slong the time you will discover a tragedy and a blessing: you are no one of them. So, you were tricked by society,as everybody was. Do not fight, don't defend or praise any thought, divine or not. A distance must be created. No fight, no Religion, no beliefs. When you get Zero thought, that is you , as placid as a serene lake, no waves or mud. In your natural virginity. The ways I spoke about will bring you to this final point, we call it Meditation.
most of the times,Krishnamurti,is brilliant and inspiring, but many other times,is exceeded in his criticism..in reality, the things that he criticizes with great acrimony in his talks, are already understood in the teachings of great spiritual traditions such as Buddhism or Hinduism.
his way will certainly not match with many things thats the true quality of a indian rishi he is hard wired to speak out truth . but for beginners like you and me we need yoga and techniques jk was a more of child prodigy. and was helped by many superior souls of Himalayas thats the reason why he didn't have to go through all this yoga and all he critical about. for general 98.9%public yogic techniques is only the way jk is phd teacher and we all are toddlers
I agree. That's the impression I got from him as well. He speaks the total truth, but to those of us who have minds that are not wired for change and and freedom, we need things to guide us along the way.
Of course Krishanamurti is right! If there is a mantra that brings haven , how come the country like India is so poor , 1000of people are still homeless, job less, seeking better life abroad. So one can see how conning the methods are that’s all, there is no mantra and exercise that brings Haven except the doers feels goods and strong that is all in to it so careful to think that all these spiritual guru gonna bring haven in your life , they are after your money.
@thesecretyogaThere are mantras and tantras to improve upom yourself to influence the world. If these were all valid, the world would have been improved. But India is a country with many problems. I don't think mantra's are totally useless, but I also think these people who seem to believe they are some kind of magic spell to have the gods bless them are utterly foolish.
I think you're forgetting the fact that India used to be a very prosperous civilization. It is only after invasions (leading eventually to enslavement) from various Central Asian kingdoms and the British colonizers that they descended to poverty.
not sure, but in india many many guru recommend mantra yoga, not sure i can't comprehend why K is against it, he must be on higher state which mantra yoga bring in a person.
You can't listen to everything everyone says, our great sages has proven that mantra meditation works, I meant no disrespect to him, he might be a scholar, but it doesn't mean that whatever he says we have to accept it
He never said that accept whatever I say. He said don’t accept any authority, his primary teaching if I may call it as teaching ; is all about questioning everything. It’s about breaking the age old conditioning.
What "great sages"? Just people who tell you they're enlightened and tell you what to do to "achieve" "enlightenment" and sell you all kinds of things. You're being royally fooled by charlatans. K never promised a thing to anyone, never told anyone what to do or gave any kind of practices to follow, nothing. If you can't see the difference between what this man was trying to point out and the droves of con-artists who use "spirituality" to make huge amounts of money out of all the desperate and gullible people in the world, then you're doomed to learn the hard way.
And by the way your great sages have the same consciousness as your's or mine... the same greed the same desire the same hatred... its all one if you get this...
Fine K lets become Trees , give us a brake sir. You speak with Anger for the first time in fact I downloaded the video before Petersfield downloads it. We are not fed by a fundation or Leighbether and the Gang. We try our best. How about Protecting us in Spirit, Stick around on Earth Realm and help us in Spirit dont flee like the egoistic Buddha did.
What is with JK's audiences, that in all his videos, he has to say "do you get any of this?", or even more frustrated statements. ... And so on... I saw a discussion video between JK and a Buddhist scholar, moderated by a JK groupie. JK says something, the moderator "explains" it, and JK has to say that's not what he meant. Then the scholar says something, the moderator "explains" it, and he has to say that's not what he meant. So i wonder....
It depends on how one is looking at it, and is your perception and not necessarily an accurate description. Yog, meditation, mantras has it's own uses, mechanisms and meaning and not just limited to one's mere interpretation and truth is seen. What J's speaking here is his view and perception only and it doesn't quite have to be true and whole. I quite not resonate with that narrow meaning of Yoga, mantras what's being explained here and it's not even described accurately.
He is completely wrong about transcendental meditation. It has nothing to do with any kind of illusion. Mantras act as a catalyst to quite the mind. Also it's not a random word that is choosen there are specific mantras for groups of individual.

the quiet mind, but even yoga aims to quiten the mind, so he is half true here as well
谢谢

i see some people disagree with Krishnamurti here and its because of conditioning again.
Understand fear, then you won't follow anybody.

Did krishnamurti ever talk about vipassana meditation?
No...he is talking about transidental meditation

Was he an atheist ?
Quite the contrary , stands out from the sheeps though
He wasn't an anything. Your immediate thought to want to label him is precisely part of what he tried to point out to people.
Atheist and Theist Both Are Same...
@@DM-kv9kj I didn't label him. I was confused after watching his few videos. Ya no need to take offense buddy. Have a good life ahead
