- So, I was taking a gander around reddit when I saw someone ask if all the Easter eggs were compiled somewhere. The answer was "No, but the lore Explorer has a lot of them". So I figure i should just get it done and out for the community. Since its my favorite and all. Love you guys.

I love that little Scout, he's gone through 2 universes and is probably the oldest object ever predating everything in the new one, I hope wherever it goes, it's still taking pictures, observing the universe
well because time is weird when you're at the eye of the universe, the scout is a lot younger. 14.3 billion years passed for everything else but its probably only been a few minutes for the scout.
The scout represents the "signal thats older than the universe itself" that the Nomai was trying to find, for this new universe. Some new civilization will capture the scout, analyze it, find out it's older than this universe, and set out to find its source, just like what happened in the game with Nomais. That's how I see it.

Hypothesis: the scout is the new Eye of the Universe, and the goal at the end of the new universe is to chase it down through space

That little scout would probably blow the minds of the natives and start their outer wilds exploration as its something older than their universe
Yeah, I saw another comment where somebody said that the little scout symbolized the signal older than the universe itself, and that the species would try and find the source, which is the eye of the universe. Thus, the cycle continues.

have you seen the original nomai statue in the alpha. only certain parts would show up. so the first time you look at it itd be the horns and mouth. then you spin around and its the eyes and mouth. it was neat. imagine someone who actually planned it so it didnt end up looking like a creepy half face lol.

I can proudly say that I stumbled upon the backer's satellite in my playthrough twice! I found it by locking on to an autopilot target in the distance that seemed to point towards a destination in open space, I only noticed it while moving my view between two other planets. It's really far out there; the first time I locked on I though that I had happened to lock on to the Eye, but I didn't even see what I was approaching until I was
That's awesome. It's hard to find. I ran into the lock on thing a few times while scanning between planets. But was never fast enough to lock on. Then I noticed a pattern. So I was finally able to keep trying until I was fast enough to lock on. Anyone who wants to find it them selves can look up how to find the figs backer sattelite. I made a tutorial.
The font used in the game's menu is called "ITC Serif Gothic".
It is the same font Squaresoft used for the Chrono Trigger title screen.
hmmmm. maybe ill start using a gothic font from now on. idk how itll look in thumbnails. is it hard to read in this one(the title screen outer wilds)
As Chrono Trigger is my favorite game, I am very disappointed in myself that I didn't recognize the similarity in the C's and R's until now.
I actually found that first one myself! I left the game for like a half hour and then came back and thought "where the title go"
I have a tiny hope for a second Outer wilds game.
I hope that they will add the scout foating in space as an ester egg.

I would be really happy with this, but it looks like a solo game :(
To me, a sequel would never be able to do the first one justice, same as the creator of Undertale explained why he would never make Undertale 2. It could never live up to what I felt with this game and it's better to leave it as a solo masterpiece than create a sequel that tarnishes its reputation. That being said I do wish to erase my memory and play Outer Wilds for the first time again because It's just simply amazing.

the scout with the backer is so existential, it's like we're the owners of that scout and we sent it into the unknown and it reached this solar system with the Hearthians and Nomai. It's entirely possible that something like this could happen someday, and it makes you feel tiny.
Your enthousiasm for discoveries is almost as great as that of the Nomai. BEHOLD THE CENTIPEDE!! :D
One thing that only slightly bothered me _(though I totally understand why they did it in terms of story pacing)_ was that you couldn't leave the atmosphere of the Quantum Moon when at the Eye of the Universe. Technically you'd have reached the end without doing it the intended way.
But still. There's no in-game explanation for this.
there sort of is. sort of. the qm copies the body its orbiting. no matter how hard you tried you cant get off the eyes planet. so it sort of makes sense you cant get off the eyes version of the qm.
I don’t really remember the explanation so if very well might not be there, but didn’t the nomai at the sixth location explain that at some point?

maybe it orbits so far from the eye as to not be doable before your o2 runs out? that would have been a nice way of doing it
You have to be able to see a image from the quantum thing you whant to preserve in a specific location
But the moon's atmosphere is to dense to see trough, sou you would have to take a picture
But when the little scout is too far away, you lose the image, and the sixth location is way far than the other locations
So, if you try to leave the atmosphere without a picture, you would just be quantum'd away, and if you try taking a picture, you lose the connection and results in the same thing
I knew about most of these, except the Hearthian Graveyard and the Hollows Lantern Nomai.
One you didn’t mention though, when you play Hide and Seek in the Village, the music that you track the kids down with is the space travel music from the Alpha build. I didn’t catch this one initially. It wasn’t until I went back to the alpha then returned to the full game that I noticed.
Hmm. Yeah. I had no idea. Thats pretty neat.

I remember finding this naturally in game and I was so confused haha
4:44 I didn't know this was the alpha ship at first lol. I thought, and it makes sense actually, about this being an earlier ship model when the ships "blew up all the time"
But then also this ship has very different materials. Maybe the hearthians wanted strength here? Then decided that wood was lighter and felt cozier so used that instead?

Every Let's Play I've seen has said that's just a new species at the end, but from the moment I beat, I always assumed it was Nomai before they were Nomai. And I got that suggestion from that orb of smoke with the shadows of Nomai and their ships going across it. Seemed obvious to me. Memories of the player character help to shape what becomes in the new universe.
Sadly , they arent the nomai friend. What we see in the orb of smoke are possibilities. Ones that may become certain. We certainly add them to the smoke as a possibility for future universes. But in my opinion If the new species were nomai wed recognize them as such.
Pivot's Easter Egg seems to be partially removed. The scroll and emotes are still there, but the last message just says "omg... :0" but with no QR code.
I chased that backer satellite, smacked into it full speed and died immediately. Pretty funny stuff this game
its one of the few games knowing the secrets before hand doesnt ruin then finding them

3:48 I noticed this one in my playthrough when flying past it. Tried to get a closer look and was quickly vaporized by the lava lol.
I caught my console updating outerwilds just a few weeks ago. I wondered what they added to the game. Instead of looking my self I subscribed and waited for your videos 😅👍 Lore Explorer you never cease to amaze me Legend!

I did not think the centipede was so secret, I have met it several times in my run but it must be said that I have more than 60 hours on outer wilds , and despite this I did not know about certain easter eggs such as Graveyard or the secret scroll and the Terminator Nomai xD

Its interesting. some think it lasted that long. some think it skipped right to where we see it. I really dont know one way or another. but since its sort of based on nomai tech it could last that long imo

I honestly don’t think so. It’s make little sense to transfer it to a new universe. Show something identical to us. But then claim it’s not ours. Life doesn’t form immediately in a new universe. It’d have to survive a crazy amount of time to be discovered
What is Elsinore castle? I'm a bit lost on that one
It's a nod to a game created by the lead art director of outer wilds. In that game was a sort of magic that was a door to many worlds. When this magic was used, the center of it is that scene we see at the castle. It's confusing lol. But interesting

This is a reference to Legend of Zelda if you jump into the black hole inside the ATP at the end of the loop you will get You met a Terrible fate and the art for it is a picture of a hearthian with a big bag a Nomai mask and is doing the pose that the Happy mask sales man does in Majoras mask

Newest Easter Egg:
Codename: Jeffrey Yu’s Steins Gate Scroll
Found on a fake wall lamp on the very top of the inside of statue island. Can only grab the scroll out of the lamp when launched into space by tornado.
Placing the scroll into a whiteboard shows text that forms the steins gate future gadget lab logo. Reading it you will see a number called the world line value that is calculated based on your loop count (has no real meaning was just a way to learn about ciphers according to Jeff).
taking the scroll into the ATP’s black hole will duplicate it. If you head back to ATP you will see the scroll on the ground with the banana melted.

Huh, the Pivot/Pivet's easter egg is a new one to me.
One small thing (though not exactly an easter egg) I guess I'll share is that if you talk to the Hearthian with an axe (Marv?) multiple times, they will ask you to say Hi to Esker (at the Lunar Outpost) for them, which you can then go and do.

That was so sweet! I really liked that. 10/10 would say its wholesome.

Thats how I found it too. I saw it so many times but was never quick enough to lock on. Until I got annoyed of not knowing what it was. So I just kept meditating until I finally locked on lol.
The fig backer satellite threw me soooo off when I first found it until I saw it was an Easter egg

I first ran into the outer wilds title screen float away thing after I accidently took out the ATP warp core (my friend told me to do it because itd be funny 💀) and after i got the YOU ARE DEAD screen i left my computer open to go eat dinner, and when i came back i thought i permanently messed up the game 💀

It would be super neat if during the title screen if you waited 22 minutes long enough you could see the blue light envelope Timber Hearth.. But of course since it would be a spoiler for any new players happening to go AFK I guess it would never happen.

Hey, I uninstall my game before thinking of this, but have you entered the giant tornado in the Quantum Moon? You know, when the Quantum Moon is in orbit around Giant's Deep, it still has the tornado. You could totally enter it with colision mods, or just entering from the south Pole with your ship, landing right inside the tornado (You can do that with the tornado in Giant's Deep, so why not in Quantum Moon?).
I'd say is worth looking for another easter egg there!
Yeah. Ive checked it out. Mechanics wise in game its impossible. So there isnt anything there. but if you stay on the camera and activate the free cam mod you can go outside the moon. but its still in its observed state. so we can see trees or mountains or whatever sticking up out of the foam. thats pretty neat.
i bumped the ship at high speed into the quantum moon tornado and just barely clipped through, enough to see the quantum tower square in the middle. I looked the other way, clipped into it again and it was gone. Didn't make out anything else interesting inside
yeah. the devs use interesting ways of hiding that tower. on all the iterations there are places you cant access. The tower is mostly hanging out there until we stumble upon it.
@@TheLoreExplorer There is nothing there. You can go out on both GD and DB while being exactly on North Pole. Most people don't because they are far more interested in going to Sixth Location than checking out every "superposition" on QM without mods.
You can totally get there without using any cheats. When you're on the Quantum Moon and you get the tower to the north pole - like you would if you were traveling to the Sixth Location - you can travel to a couple of the other moon locations instead, with the tower still on the north pole. Giant's Deep is one of them. If you exit the tower you'll find that you're right in the middle of the big tornado, as expected. It's actually interesting because the scene is reminiscent of the Tower of Quantum Trials on Giant's Deep itself (both of which are much larger of course). I don't know if that parallel is intentional or coincidental, but it's still cool. There's nothing else to see there though.

I was wondering if the devs had actually rendered a white hole at the ATP at the beginning of the loop during the memory transfer, and I wanted to ask if it was possible to use that freecam mod you have to find out
yes, its possible to get in there and look.(not normally though) But naw, they didnt add an animation for it. Even the devs toolkit cant get you in there before the sand clears. "which i find odd". I had to immediately freeze time with the free cam mod. and fly over, get inside, lock the camera to move with ash twin, all to see nothing lol. but it was worth a shot.
Is the Fig Backer satellite the deep space satellite or is it further past that one’s orbit.

Outer Wilds appear in my xbox games cuz i watch the E3 (i dind't know why at that moment) but i dind't played it until some weeks ago i see the title screen, my brother call me for something, i came back and the letters have drifted completly i guess it was a spoiler at that moment lmao. Im not entirely sure. I made guides for the ones I found hard to locate. Others should be easily found by reading the wiki and heading to the location stated. For solanums fate ending you have to do a series of things. First, take the advanced warp core from the atp. Then go visit solanum on the quantum moons 6th location and spend the rest of the loop with her.

I think the scout from the eye is simulated live and moves in a random direction, because after i beat the game the scout headed RIGHT for where the camera was in the cutscene.

Somewhat. There was also the solar platform contest. The winners of the solar platform context were mixed in with the fig backers on that sign in the observatory, is my guess.

@@TheLoreExplorer Basically, on the day the Fig alpha first came out, there was a contest to see who could land on the solar platform first and answer a question there. Everyone who answered it on release day got rewards: a chance to playtest a build of the game before release, and your name on a sign in-game. They also accidentally included the contest winners as part of the founder-level backers in the credits.
That's why I'm there, even though I backed at a much lower level.

@@TheLoreExplorer The invisible planet is referring to the data from the halloween event 2019. Which is a mystery on it's own.
I have heard about stuff in the code reffering to a ghost or something. But it seems it was never really implemented. Im not too familiar with it though. Also, I don't remember a Halloween event last year. But I may of been taking a break from the game then.

It seems to be on an interstellar trajectory coming from another solar system. I have a video on how to find it. TH-cam "how to find the figs backer sattelite"
