    “Turned out pretty good…”
You’re too modest. They turned out amazing! It’s such an eye opener to see the mediocre work of other cobblers and how you can correct all of their wrongs and give the customer an amazing result.

It is interesting and people should take note, those two top lifts look very, very similar but some people may not realize that the rubber in the Vibram (or similar premium product) will last you alot longer.. It may be the difference of $3 in the end and its not worth cutting that corner.

Not something I would wear but, I totally appreciate the quality and the beautiful appearance of this pair. So many people miss the finer detail that turn an ok pair of boots in to a high quality pair. The people who know, know. These now such a high quality.

I'm not a cowboy boot guy, but Tecovas makes some nice products. It's a shame the culture around cowboy boots as work boots often leaches into the higher end versions with fancier leathers and they end up looking like these came in as. Cleaning and conditioning your boots only takes maybe 30 minutes fellas, come on now.

Another reason your recommendation of Masters Contact Cement is wonderful. On my projects, any 'slop' is easily cleaned off with a piece of crepe. Then some balm or conditioner makes the area good as new. The contact cement just comes off cleanly. Great recommendation Steve!

I'm confused about the crack/tear on the upper.
At 4:35 the entire boot was effectively completely disassembled
That welt was getting replaced and the foot bed was swiss cheese from all those nails.
So why could you not come in through the bottom of the boot to do the crack/tear repair?

    • @Cemmos

The leather patch would now be between the vamp and its lining. Easier to do it this way than to unstitch/redo part of the lining, I imagine.
