When my typical shop had a more heavy electronics vibe I had some beautiful Simpson meters displayed on a shelf. They can be had for pennies at yard sales as folks tend to dispense them as no longer useful. My Fluke 87 has been my "go to" in countless aviation and industrial environments and the level of trust I have in its answers would be hard to match. There are things a VOM can offer, and they are beautiful designs, no doubt.
