  • This video will talk about a genetically encoded calcium sensor GCaMP. GCaMP is a genetically encoded calcium indicator (GECI) initially developed in 2001 by Junichi Nakai. It is a synthetic fusion of green fluorescent protein (GFP), calmodulin (CaM), and M13, a peptide sequence from myosin light-chain kinase.

I just started my PhD in neuroscience and I will be using all of this in my experiments for brain mapping, this video and the video on two-photon calcium imaging were the most simplified videos that I will be using in most of my presentations in the future! Previously I have never used a two-photon microscope so both of your videos helped me to clarify all the doubts I had. Thank you!

Could you please help me by sharing my contents with your friends group/ college group. I put huge efforts in making these videos but unfortunately not a lot of people are watching this.

I literally just had to learn about this as I will be doing research in a lab that involves GCaMP, and somehow I had the incredible luck of you posting this amazingly clear and insightful video! Thank you so much Arpan, you have helped so much (with this and all of your other videos)!

Thank you so much! this is incredibly helpful and clear. I'm a physicist doing an intership in neuro and i've been struggling with all of these new concepts in papers, it's great that there are videos like this

Arpan, you are amazing. How about primary neuronal culture based calcium imaging analysis

    • @animatedbiologywitharpan

In primary cultures people prefer using dyes like Fluo4 , Fura 2. Please share my cahnnel link with your friends and help me to reach big audiance.
