Hey man. I know this video was posted for a while now. Just wanna ask if replacing the tensioner resolved the rattling sound or you replaced the chain(whole kit) as well?
To get to the tensioner takes a fair bit of work. You need to replace the chain to the updated one and the tensioner plus chain guides. Took me 6 hours to do on my drive.
Anyone knows how I can debug if sound is coming from there ? Would it sound more under load or on idle too ? When revving it ? How to test before opening it ? I have a similar sound sometimes.
Thanks for this man. I'm about to attempt this today (up Scotland) is there anything you missed out on the video I should beware of? My mate insists that we do An oil change at the same time but I don't see the point if the chain is gonna come off on Monday... Thanks for the vid
@@jamiewalker8772 glad you liked vid. to remove the chain you have to drop the sump so an oil change would be done then anyway I'd have thought. My car will be getting it done soon as my garage is finished and I'll make videos on it too. Its parked up and Sorn for now but I'd not risk driving it as it is too slack

That was the question I was going to ask. My sons 13’ evo 10 is making that sound also, and he needs it fixed right away

What year do u have
Thanks for the info
Can't wait to see you getting stuck into this beast!
Did a new chain job cure the startup noise?
Turns out it was the firmware on my sst gearbox. I did a reteach and it stopped
Normally if oil change regualy it prevents chain from stretching so much! Well it does on Honda k series engines!
It's common on these cars for the earlier ones to stretch at 50k. I'll get it done soon to be safe

@@Austinob not sure if you ever found the info you were looking for; but any model from 2012 up has the upgrades chain
That slop can just be from cams on lobe new chain can do that just fyi
Me: *sweating cus I found a 2010 with 115k miles and have no idea if the chain has been done*
