Wheatland Spring Brewery is located in the quaint little town of Waterford, in Loudoun County, Va. Loudoun County has the greatest concentration of gravel roads in the U.S. all dating back to the 1700's. Great efforts are made to preserve them and keep them from being paved.
Great meeting and riding with the Gravel Cyclist. If you get the chance to ride with him do it. Funny guy with lots of stories. Thanks for coming to the PIG-NIC.
Oh crud, another dream bike to add to my short list. That new Battaglin Pavé steel gravel bike is amazing. I see it has the all-road Deda fork on it rather than the curvy gravel fork with the wider 67mm clearance (the looks of the curvy fork might be a bit polarizing for some). This is frustrating. I have so much analysis-paralysis in deciding which brand to go with for my next lifetime bike (my 1991 Merlin titanium Extralight is my road lifetime bike). I thought for sure that Prova Mostra titanium gravel that you featured not long ago was super unique and now comes this steel bike. Surprised Battaglin has not gotten into titanium. Those guys are so good at welding that would no doubt be their most popular model.
If you know the approximate weight of that Pave build, please relay it. Am curious how it compares to the lovely Mason Exposure steel bike I have been eyeballing. Too bad you cant get hold of a Mason. They are out of the UK. I think ultra racer Josh Ibbett is the only one they give demo bikes to (as its a small company). You would probably like the Bokeh gravel bike with its slightly racier geometry (compared to the Exposure).
I love Virginia so much. Even (and especially) northern Virginia. Looks like a lot of fun was had!
2:14 LOOK at that beauty! love it !

Good chance I screwed something up, winging it in the video.
Ah, man, I wish I could have made it. Next year! Glad you were able to make it back to our hero gravel roads. Cheers.
It was great to meet you in person and to see the new creation of Officine Battaglin. It looked fantastic. It makes me proud to be Veneto.
Ciao Marco! Grazie Mille!

Looks like lots of fun and superb gravel.
Great to meet you. Hope to see you Saturday's ride in Middleburg.
Great to meet you. Thanks for coming. It was a great day
Had a blast, the ride, the riders, the festival. Thank you!
It was a fantastic event and it was great to meet you!
LOVED the event, and I met so many riders along the way. Glad I accepted Kasey's invitation!

T-lab or Battaglin. Which one did you prefer on the gravel roads, in terms of comfort and agility?
Totally distracted by the Italian stallion…. We’re was this ride again? 🤭 incredible gravel roads, bucket list stuff.
