Hey John, that axe is a thing of beauty! While I enjoy splitting by hand, I like to split things nice and small and a splitter makes it so much easier...I'll be the first to admit that my axemanship still leaves a lot to be desired! Cheers, Alex
I am with you, Alex. When I have to produce a lot of wood to a very specific dimension, the splitter is the way to go. I just miss the "huffin and puffin"!
Wow, 70 bundles that's awesome. The axe looks pretty slick. I usually split by axe whenever it's a face cord or less otherwise I pull out the gas powered splitter. I agree it is very enjoyable doing it manually. Have a good one John!
Hey Paul! I think there is some nostalgia involved for me. When my brother and I had a firewood business in college, we could not afford a splitter, and hand splitting was all we had!
Great video John. That’s a nice tool. Very well explained. I like splitting wood too by axe. But I don’t do enough. You’re in great shape. Have a great week. 👋👋👍🏻👍🏻🪓🪵🔥
John I forgot to ask. Is it a sharp edge or dull edge. I like a dull edge for splitting. Just my way. What is your thoughts on that, sharp or dull for splitting. 👍🏻👋🪵🪓🔥
Love the workout routine. Who needs to go to the gym after that. And wow! 70 bundle bags. Who would have guessed. Casterman, Timber Pilot. Now I know what I want for Christmas!
Excellent representation Mr. John...the TIMBERPILOT is a beauty...
Thanks, Brian! I hope yours is on the way!
Definitely a quality tool John.
Thanks, Gary! I love the fact it is totally sourced and made in the USA!!!
@@thebradleysoncatbirdhill6849 , yes indeed! That is definitely cool!

Casterman builds a work of art. I still love to hand split when I get the right wood
Nice axe!! Winston is an amazing craftsman! Congrats on a great tool!
That axe is a beast, Casterman does first class quality work. 🪓👍

Thanks, Noel!!! Either great shape or too stubborn to think I need to slow down!

Noel: It is pretty sharp. I debate that in my mind all the time. I should do some more scientific research and do a video!
@@thebradleysoncatbirdhill6849 that would be great John. 👍🏻👍🏻
