As a dad to 2 kids, 1 being a newborn. This type of game is exactly what I need and want. That isn't to say that it doesn't need work. But, the overall gameplay just works for me. Low brainpower, casual grind. Depending on what I am doing during the day decides what profession I will work on. Some are more AFK than others and all allow me to walk away and take care of my kids. Thanks for the video, but I am not a RS3 or OSRS player, and this game works for me. I am excited to see where it goes. I hope we get magic sooner rather than later.
This is why I like it, I can afk and not have to spend tons of brain power and time on it while I do other stuff, sometimes when you come home after work you wanna chill out and do stuff like what brighter shore has to offer

Will be interesting to see how the game develops with updates :) edit: you claim no one sells gear, there is a person that sells gear in the armoury on episode 4 and trading is coming soon. Also you say woodcutting and carpentry is not useful, it is because you use the poles you make with carpentry to make weapons in episode 3 that combines with blacksmithing / stonemason ect...
Carpentry & woodcutting might tie into other skills later, but they do nothing in E2. For F2P, this means they're absolutely useless. And even then they're not mandatory cause most weapons don't require wood in E3. Compare to RuneScape tutorial island. You would mine some ore, then smelt the bars, then make a weapon. You'd catch a fish, chop some logs, light a fire, then cook the fish. Both of those immediately tie into combat, and the utility is immediately apparent. And it all takes 10 minutes. BS often has the issue of not communicating mechanics or utility clearly enough, or keeping them hidden behind a rather mindless grind that doesn't appeal to a lot of people since they don't have a goal that they're pursuing with any enthusiasm. I really liked your review Pravus! I've been enjoying the game for what it is so far, but I do 100% agree with the criticisms you put forward here. I personally don't think the system Andrew put forward with professions is fundamentally flawed, as I found the logic he put forward when discussing it to be valid, but at the same time the current way it is implemented definitely needs some work. I'm just about to unlock episode 4, and as I've worked on the weapon crafting, I found the final overlapping of stuff to really come nicely, and with more mobs actually dropping potion reagents, everything started to really come together in the vision Andrew put forward. Problem is, it shouldn't take getting this far, which requires grinding a total of 252 levels for everything to click. There should definitely be more done earlier to get players hooked like I finally managed to. Hopefully, the addition of the actual MMO elements the game promises will allow you to enjoy the game, too, because I really do think any Runescape fan will have a good time with it once there is more substance than just purely the grind.
@jensv874 I'm not saying that everything should be lumped into the first two areas, just that the existing stuff should demonstrate that the overlap is more prevalent. Early overlapping does already exist, as gathering is used for both cooking and alchemy, but the problem there currently is that most potions can just be purchased from the alchemy vendor, and cooking is purely used to make money. This makes this overlap less significant than that of the stuff in episode 3. If players were more incentivized to make their own potions, or if food was actually used as a consumable, it would make it more significant in the early game and that could easily address the problem there.

A review with so much ignorance lol
You can buy gear in Cronopolis
This is probably the worst review on TH-cam. Only shows episodes one and two, not four (where the magic happens). Most people like four due to the interconnectedness. Please play the game properly before reviewing it. Dont disrespect the gaming community.
you cant expect everyone to dump 80 hours in a game before reviewing it
then there's something fundamentally wrong with your game
this is not the worst review on youtube, you're just being ignorant right now
@SimonRobeyns You're wrong. There's not a single mention here of Episide 4 lol.
This looks like a roblox game with better visuals
you clearly didnt get through all 4 episodes, you can see these things come together more and also find an npc that sells gear
If the game doesn't come together and start to actually make sense after 15 hours of gameplay, there's something seriously wrong with the game - you're going to lose most people in 30 minutes, they're not going to play 30 hours.
If your lazy and cant grind dont play. Theirs plenty of ptw action mmos with no future. Any game without bots is a win at this point because botting has ruined gaming. Honestly extreme steps should be made against botters lawsuits jail time for bot creators should be done in every mmo.
Ep 3 skills require ep 2 skills, ep 4 skills will work with ep 5 skills - seems like some of your complaints are solved by playing more of the game :)
you literally make a point that the game is bad because you cant use the social feature to grief someones resources lool
