Growing up, the only vert I ever rode was backyard pools and we rode “inside” the pool. Now that I’m riding more parks, I find myself still riding “inside” the bowl. This is eye opener! Thank you so much!!
I'm glad this is being covered. One of the biggest questions on my end was always around "what do I do now that I'm literally sideways" and dealing with the completely new paradigm of ollieing (and landing) horizontally.
Love your vert tip videos. Transition skater here who has been wanting to learn to skate vert, all my friggin life. These will def help! Thank you, Mitchie!
This is the video I needed decades ago when I was a little kid. You’re such a good teacher Mitchie. What should we do to practice this foundational skill of ollieing into power slides and keeping our knees over our feet without a vert ramp?
Thank you! That’s a tough one. You can get creative with fly out backside and front 180s and try to feel each little thing, use frontside to feel the balance and use backside to feel like you can not lean too far forward . Things like that
That’s it. 90’s era Street skater here. Old now and just recently back on the board - these vert tips make me want to skate a vert ramp. I have one in my city thankfully, now I’m off to patreon to follow the series. Awesome Mitchie!
youre an amazing teacher... im gonna start up again my friend.... i will try this lesson......unfortunately the highest ramp we have in montreal is only about 6 feet high ...wish i could skate with you ... oh well... we will make due with whats available
my goal on skate is perform a air in half pipe, but i have one hard detail: i'm big 6'4 and i have 242 pounds. i post skateboard shorts on youtube almost everyday, and i'll post my evolution following your tips. Thank you for this detailed explanations of vertical skateboarding.
Hey man I’ve really been struggling with late grabs but I’ve gotten my early grabs down to a tea. Is there any chance you could make video or give some tips on how to go from early’s to late’s? 🙏🏼❤️
I know how to do this but didnt see the connection to getting airs till now. I always tried early grabs which are easy going straight up and down. This may be a game changer.
hay a question of how do i start ollieing when i'm doing that? like do i just ollie and then when i land on the wall i let gravity do the rest? and if i'm doing the backside ollie on the transition do i never seam to get the hang of how i can turn to do a ollie 180 or even a 90 degrees if you could be able to explain or help i would really appreciate that
@SKATEiQ I am wondering if any squads like the squads in flat ground tricks, the squads in manual, or in pumping all can apply to the squad technique you mentioned above or only work in powerslides?
Yeah!! We have type in Mitchie brusco teaches backside airs and its a long form video it should be the right direction. Theres a lot of ollies in the longform section too
Your explanations of tricks are unparalled my dude. I feel like getting back into the pool and trying again!
Sick! Thanks man

Yo Cheeto! Yeah man I loved riding the inside your mom's pool too
you are a great instructor. i appreciate your calm and collected approach.
Thank you!

Yeah it’s definitely it’s own world. It isn’t talked about very much so hopefully it starts to make a big difference

The last two seconds though 🤟
Very enlightening
Yes, I suddenly understood how to maintain balance throwing bigger airs than the micro pop I make. Mind blown!
thanks for the videos. I haven't skated in almost 20 years and went and got a board today to re-learn because you popped up in my feed.
Awesome!
have to say I felt like a baby giraffe day one but I'm getting back my skate legs slowly, thanks for the encouragement! @@DefextOfficial
Can’t wait to try this. Vert has always been my weakness and I never knew where to start.

Perfect, that’s how you know its legit
Mitchie: I don't think I can do it switch
Also Mitchie: *does it first try*
Well, it happens sometimes 😅
Wooooow! Dude, your lessons are absolutely illuminating. Love them. Kudos and keep up the great work!💡🛹💛👍🏼
Thank you!
Also I just learned that "getting pitched" and "pitch" (vs roll) are the same thing XD
6:05 watch out dude.

Yes I could do that for sure
Watch the last live stream of viewer submitted backside airs to get a sense of the direction it will be going
I know how to do this but didnt see the connection to getting airs till now. I always tried early grabs which are easy going straight up and down. This may be a game changer.
Hopefully it starts to open up your skating a bit !
Can you do this for frontside please. My fs feels so bad
